Who made those rules and who said that they are holy? I reckon his cult members would say so hehehe.

Is that really their ethos or one slide snuck in there by an individual fuckhead? On the strength of that I'd be leaning towards it being a performance art piece that'll soon be revealed.

That individual fuckhead is one of the founders of the B Foundation. I am looking for their website to see who the other founding members are but I saw a another picture that showed some known people in the cryptospace like whalepanda, Elizabeth Stark, Alex Vranova of Satoshi Labs and that guy in the picture together onstage.

It could end with a group that wants to represent and speaks on behalf of the whole community. This is not necessarily a positive point,  it could also create discord between different people or groups.

We're vastly too far gone for that. Everyone is waiting to ejaculate contempt all over this and it hasn't even gotten started. If there'd been a properly competent foundation not filled with criminals here today dating from olden times I've no doubt it would be very powerful today but there isn't.

In a way their uselessness and dishonesty did BTC a huge favour by proving what a hopeless idea it is.

This is not necessarily a positive point,  it could also create discord between different people or groups. Since the purpose of Bitcoin is to be free from any entity, this type of group could decide for us, and they could decide and act in their own interest and not of Bitcoin. There is no need for a foundation to focus on coordinating bitcoin adoption and research dev.

That was a really scary picture. I mean I thought I was a skeptical representative for the every day Bitcoin user when it comes to dealing with altcoins but if this is a sample presentation for the "Foundation" and we're down to using marketing language and sell speak, then I'm not sure I can tell the difference from the other Foundations. Even the Blockstream t-shirts behind the mobile phones didn't do anything for me, that mantra did.

To each their own, I guess.

@gentlemand. But it can be worse than the previous attempt. They proclaim that the are not the leaders and that they are not the representatives of bitcoin. But look, they are beginning to act like the leaders of a cult.

Who made those rules and who said that they are holy? I reckon his cult members would say so hehehe.

Well, it can't be any worse than the previous attempt. Pretty funny how so many of that crew wound up in legal trouble which says plenty.

There's nothing stopping a bunch of people bunching up. It's down to everyone else to see what use they are. The more bunched they are the easier it'll be to dispose of them too.

Forgive my unwillingness to click on the link and read further (I trust OP's summary suffices) but splashing out yet another set of suit and ties, looking all smug and cleancut, really doesn't cut it with me. A la Ethereum Foundation? And what has that lesson taught us? That yes, it's all beautiful and slick with centralised marketing departments and back slapping conventions on yachts and lambos, and to what end? Token economies running on fumes.

Sorry but I like this "cosy" Bitcoin bubble of grassroots activism and advocacy.

What would the diffence of this bitcoin foundation be from the previous The Bitcoin Foundation? I reckon that this might be another mistake. This new foundation might have already said that they do not lead and represent bitcoin, but what are they there for? Is it not to market bitcoin, and to meet with institutions that are interested in using bitcoin? If those institutions see that the members of this new foundation are the people to talk to, doesn't that turn them into representatives?

How long would it take until the community would begin to look at them as the leaders?

Alex Vranova of Satoshi Labs and Trezor fame announced The B Foundation, a new body that will be focused on coordinating general bitcoin adoption and research developments, a la the model of ETH’s Ethereum Foundation.

In a transcript written up by LedgerX’s Bryan Bishop, Vranova made her case for why such a foundation could be fruitful adoption-wise, commenting:

“I have to say that centralized efforts are much more effective. If you have an Ethereum Foundation with a marketing department and promotions and creates beautiful sleek-looking material and produces materials, it’s much more effective in the short-term. I spent a great deal of time in the last year or year and a half visiting many blockchain events to see what’s really happening and what’s happening outside of our cute little bitcoin bubble that we like because it’s cozy.”
