Blockchain has always been needed but the fact is that it's just been discovered and as with every new invention, it takes time to mature and get adopted but it surely will. With time, all the major firms and institutions that naytalked about crypto will regret that or join us in this new wave  #TeamBlockchain forever.

The problem here is if the government does not demanded for Facebook to apply some kind of blockchain technology in their security they will still act on their own. What I mean about that is Facebook is the one to decide if and when they want to improve their security in order for this kind of hack not to happen again, another problem is there is a chance that Blockchain technology in not in the roadmap of Facebook yet and this kind of security for our personal information won't be ever available for us.

At first when someone posted a link for an article with this incident I thought it was just an hoax, the link isn't so familiar nor popular. And few hours later someone posted another update that accounts were on sale on dark web IIRC around $1.53 - $3/ea.

There's really a need and demand for blockchain and I can see that facebook is taking action on it but with this incident, I haven't see that Mark had stated anything with this.
Just as expected on where if theres a leak of information then the most common place on where it would be on sale is on Darkweb. They do realize on using blockchain tech when they do already suffer such hack. Why wont consider on applying it out before and wont wait for these kind of incidents? They would only realize if someone do break out their expectations on having the best security.

You guys really need to get time to take some reality checks. Social accounts are regularly found for sale, on dark and clearnet. Google is your friend, you don't even need to smile at duckduck.

More knee-jerk reactions, but blockchain isn't the answer to everything. For as long as you want to centralise and privatise it anyway, even blockchain can and will be attacked if there's enough motivation behind it.

Worldwide demand for blockchain when not even 1% of the population is actively using Bitcoin?
I got your point and I agree on that one. Even facebook would enhance their service but the sad fact that informations would still leak not on outside attacks but rather on the inside.
I would prefer on supporting this one https://solid.mit.edu/.
