indeed this year is very risky. because enough people are worried about bitcoin prices. this happens because the issuing issue that bitcoin will crash in large numbers. but I predict that bitcoin prices are now very low. and will increase in the coming weeks. in this year I'm targeting $ 40k will be the selling price of bitcoin

every people have different different predictions to the price of bitcoin. From my views and experience in bitcoin I predict the price of bitcoin will be $25000 at the end of 2018 but no one sure about the price of bitcoin what will happen with the price of bitcoin. Now a days the bitcoin become very famous in all over the world and the demand of bitcoin will increase in all over the world.

Exactly, but it's good to see people sentiment. It seems for BTC will be hard to be worth 100k or something like this, but for ether be around 5k it's possible. This year will be year of ICOs imho

Predictions will always stays predictions, we doesn't exactly know what will really happen in the future and we are only the one who can help and decide for ourselves. Nobody wants to lose their income but we can't control the coins. So it is our choice if we still want to hold or sell it now.

I predict a huge crash, sorry. But at the end of the day you can treat it as a sale, and ETH could easily double before the end of the year, especially with Casper and all the PoS goodies

My own prediction of bitcoin this year 2018 is all positive. As we have noticed the number of people who joined bitcoin are increasing so I presume  that not just the number of bitcoiners will add in numbers but also the value of bitcoin will double too. The growth of bitcoin will continue to stabilize together with its price. My prediction is all about positive outcome of bitcoin world.

I love to make prediction.I think the price of bitcoin will hit the buzzer of at least $25k.It should reach there.It is most wanted and hoped.But yeah.I agree that the bitcoin has started it's journey very badly in the starting of the year making us very disappointed. But I also believe that bitcoin will stand up and go a long way.I have some bitcoin and I'm still holding them only believing that the price will increase and reach at least upto $25000.If the price reaches there it will be satisfactory and I will become contented.

If there is no bubble,then it will be  ..and if the bubble has already bursted,then I should prepare myself to count on my losses.

If we continue to talk about bubbles, then with the decline of the current bitcoin value of the bubble is burst. But will bitcoin die? certainly not.
Too dear the bitcoin price goes back to 5k or 6k, though nothing is impossible. However I am sure from the miners and the investors themselves but to maintain the position of Bitcoin in the range 12k-16k. There is the impression pump and dump to gain profit for a moment, I think this is a game done by traders. In 2018, I agree if bitcoin is better at a 14k-15k stable price.

2018 is going to be a great year in the history of Bitcoin and we would see more upward movement than downward as the current corrections is a very healthy one.I don't think bitcoin is in bubble and will may not see any dumping in this year. We have seeing how bitcoin outperform every other assets in the trading market and I expect a serious upward opportunities in 2018.

Prediction for crypto currency is really hard but we can predict Bitcoin price because it is world most famous and valuable crypto. Though price of bitcoin is low now but it will be rising very soon. At the end of 2018, bitcoin will stay on around 30k-35k.

Fully agree with you, 2017 was full of unpredicted events. Even the bitcoin price at the end of the year was unexpected.
One thing is sure, is that 2017 brings bitcoin  in the front scene, with more and more people interested in crypto. Will it push bitcoin to the top or will it make it crash in 2018, no one knows.

The truth is that no one knows, I have my doubts anyone predicted even half of the things that happened last year, bitcoin growing to 20k, all the forks that happened, the fact we were supposed to get a segwit2x fork and then it did not happen, the ban on icos and all those other things that happened.

At this time when market is not favouring alts and bitcoin or crypto market is floating in deep down many have thoughts that this is end of crypto but its not true because the price will again rise with greater surge and boost to new levels after all the correction is over but all that needed is patience and faith.Bitcoin is going to cross the landmark of $25000 and ETH is going to cross $1500 easily while some good alts like litecoin will also shine so just wait for the moment.

I am also having same opinion in this matter. Bitcoin will not show any real progress in this month at least. It is already going through dip and most probably it will keep on lingering between a specific range for some more time. Actually this is good for the health of everyone or we may end up going crazy or greedy. Experts think that it will touch at least 30k dollars in 2018. IMO, bitcoin is unpredictable, it will soar but to which extent is unknown.

What makes you think of that? I don't think we will see $5k this year. The crash has done and it didn't even touches the $10k and bounce back again. Every year for btc is becoming great since we are becoming more popular year by year. I think btc will become higher and will perform good the same time last year. We will have a slow start and a rally in the next remaining quarters.

Expecting Bitcoin to increase its price over and over isn't a good thing. Over expecting might break hopes for some people. 2017 was a crazy year for Bitcoin and we cannot expect that the same thing will happen this year. Yes, we all want that but this is not always the case. Bitcoin may be subjected to a bearish market at any time and 2018 might be that time. Bitcoin drops more often indicating that it is a bear market we are in.

I am not excluding the possibility of bull run since we are aware that Bitcoin is still gaining more and more popularity. We might go up but not as crazy as 2017. The important this is the "go up" part, right?

Personally I think we will witness a severe crash, where bitcoin would drop to as low of 5000$ or even lower. It will hurt, but also give a nice opportunity to buy more  .

I expect Bitcoin to go above $ 20,000. And only then I will make further plans. Now I'm buying Bitcoin and I'm waiting for testing $20,000.

I've left getting involved until only just last month, so seriously hoping this isn't the new stable level, or worse, the top of the bubble.  I see so many blockchain coins still in their incubator stages that have actual real-world uses, so I'm betting there's still plenty of upswing for 2018.  Fingers crossed anyway.

About the prediction, of course not necessarily will be exactly right and only can be ensure in accordance with the developments of the situation and conditions and interests / support from various parties (the people).
But apparently, as the price developments so far.. bitcoin price is always not be far from the highest price already reached, I'm sure bitcoin would be still continue tends lead to a higher direction although often would be accompanied by a decline.
And most likely due of the increasing of enthusiasts and known by many people from a different countries, bitcoin price will continue trying to reach a higher values. For the next.. I'm sure it will be at $20k upwards.

I think bitcoin would be selling at $100k by December 2018.

The stable growth of bitcoin has been there since the past years and this beginning of 2018 it showed a slow movement although that seem to be good. I don't want to see it moving quick and then it will plummet. I started with bitcoin when it was still on 3 digit's time and for the past years I think the price will still be good for this year and I do believe we'll see the unexpected price of bitcoin in a positive.

This year we will reach over $25.000, We just need a lot of news like this:

BTC is the biggest crypto project but it showed very strong stable growth which is very important. BTC did 16x which is really big number but it's still not super high number (compared to ETH for example or XRP...)

It was good already at $17,000 earlier but it's starting to drop again at $16,000 but this way is better than to see bitcoin at $13,000 and be stable there. My prediction is just like others that bitcoin will be possible hitting $20,000 very soon. No one knows but we are heading there, we just have to keep on holding and let the market play for itself and while us who are holders will wait for a perfect time to sell.

I think it 2018 BTC will be stable around 20k (which was almost reached when futures trading opened!). We'll see...

I know it could sound little far-fetched, but can you direct me to a place where I can influence people towards changes. I can see a dim future for BTC if we don't make it useful as payment protocol again. I am also concerned that people which want it to fail already infiltrated it and divide people. I think everyone would agree we need BTC which is fast and cheap. Or why Roger Ver left?

i share your views. i got into bitcoin because it was a currency and could be used easily. but i still won't use an altcoin specially Ether with all the risks that introduces.

What went wrong? it is hard to say. the scaling issue was foreseen a long time ago (3 years or more) and there has been a debate over what to do about it. but the debate turned into fight over power at some point, specially with "businessmen" who only care about earning more money such as Roger Ver got involved in it. that made things to come to a near halt with bitcoin. and the sad part is there is corruption on all sides.

i really like Segregated Witness and the rest of the proposals that are coming such as Schnorr and the second layer LN and all the side chains and smart contracts. and i do believe that this is the way to go forward.
but the problem here is that all of these are Opt-In. as @1Referee said people aren't using SegWit that much!

and here is what i am afraid of, compressed public keys were introduced to bitcoin core version 0.6 on 30 March 2012. it reduces the transaction size by 32 byte per input, people were still not using it by 2015 as much as they should have, because it is opt-in. you still can use uncompressed ones and have a bigger transaction! SegWit and the rest may not take that long but it will still be a long while.

Nothing went wrong, really. It's just that the demand for blockspace has outperformed Bitcoin's current capabilities by a great magnitude. Segwit has been activated to give Bitcoin that extra push, and to buy time in the runup to Lightning Network, but it lacks serious adoption, which is a shame. It's hard to predict. In my opinion, to continue this process by making a profit in short time periods that should be done. I think this is the most reasonable way to make a profit in this market.

I know it's a hard topic, but I am in crypto for quite some time, but one thing bothers me with Bitcoin. It's slow and expensive to move it so I don't do it and rather use Ether. It's also not useful for everyday life when you want to pay for goods. What went wrong?

The chances that bitcoin will burst is higher this midyear 2018 than it will go down. So I’ll predict it 70/30 by percentage. On my honest opinion it doesn’t matter for me, as long as bitcoin exist, buy at low and sell at high would always be what I do. It will happen, bitcoin will not miss this times where every crypto is booming. TRX, XRP, LTC(before) and now ETH. I don't think that bitcoin as the main star will not boom this year.

The end of the year where it's price started to be doomed and pulled back to $13,000 and currently playing at $15,000 is a good recovery state for a coin that's moving too quick before.

I have believed that there's no bubble that's on bitcoin, look on how those new coins that are booming now. They are not even calling it as a bubble but I guess it is.

I think Cryptocurrency is still boldly dominating the market is Bitcoin, where Bitcoin when it was made, just broke the highest price in 2017 and will remain axsis until 2018.

I think and feel that in the beginning of 2018 bitcoin prices are more calm and stable, and over time I think that bitcoin prices could skyrocket to the moon to reach 25k even more, that's my opinion.

I agree to that by the middle of the year all coins will have its share of increase in value, and bitcoin will have gain a huge increase when all technologies that has been hanging to implement in 2017 will be infuse in 2018.

as long as bitcoin is improving and at the same time increasing its adoption, bitcoin price will continue to rise like this in a ridiculously fast manner that surprises everyone to the point that they start thinking it is a bubble and needs to drop hard but it then continues going higher after a little drop of 30% and sometimes worst case 40% for a couple of days.

Bitcoin has already earned its popularity over the years. This 2018 might be the year not just for Bitcoins but also for other cryptocurrencies. Several people will become interested in joining this platform since many company are starting to adapt it.  

I agree with this, I think alts will steal the show for early 2018. A lot of new money has come into the market which is only just realizing their are a tonne of other coins all targeting different use cases.

No one can actually know how much the price will increase in future. Anyway I dont think it is going to happen the same as it was in 2017 when bitcoin price increased from 1000$ to 10.000$ in a few months then it doubled to 20.000$ in only one month. If you think that the same thing will happen in 2018 then the price of one bitcoin would get to 150.000$ or more wich is incredibly huge.

Maybe is the lighting network will be released in 2018 this can help bitcoin a lot because people will make more transactions with bitcoin and shops could easily accept bitcoin because the fee will be a lot less expensive. But it is going to tale a while until lighting network will be released because the programmer's are working hard for it and they said there is no rush so we dont know when it is going to be launched

My personal unprofessional prediction:

The rise of the alts. I personally think bitcoin will continue to lose total market dominance (probably even lower than 20%) until lightning network comes and at the same time, becomes decently adopted by most services and sites that accepts bitcoin payments, as it could potentially take a lot of time before these companies/services integrates LN. Even segwit is currently barely used.

Hopefully, the year of 2018 will be the year of Cryptocurrency It's been started since the December of 2017 and this platform has got a new spirit for becoming the most influential system for the money market. We know that money is the main power for this modern time so that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will become one of the factors affecting tools in the coming time.
