So what's still new with this news? Because I wasn't surprised at all that they announced another 45 days of extension for the proposal. Before the latest deadline they said last December that February was the “final deadline” for the announcement which never happened and it took them more than a month just to announce a brand new deadline. By the looks of it this thing won't be going anywhere anytime soon. They'll just find another reason to delay/extend it more.

The whole cryptocurrency community was expecting for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) decision on Bitwise Bitcoin exchange-traded fund on April 1, 2019, the Commission has once again turned around and suspended the event to May 16.

The San Francisco-based Bitwise Asset Management with NYSE Arca - the exchange owned by ICE, filed the first proposal on February 15, and it was even officially submitted to the Federal Register.
