it's unbelievable: " Inside sources with knowledge of plan revealed: "

summarizing, is one more news where rumors are published. There are no reliable and credible sources to confirm this news. as expected from our news channels

I think that from April 21, Ukraine will have a new president of Zelensky, who will accelerate the implementation of progressive reforms in the country.

it would be very good if people in my country open their eyes and stop voting for corrupt candidates for high-ranking posts in my country, unfortunately most of the people in my country still lack good education and information technology. most people of my country do not look at how the world evolved and how my country only impoverishes each year

not going to happen any time soon
this is just daydreaming like one of the hyperloop projects: https://www.cnet.com/news/ukraine-has-plans-for-a-hyperloop/
this one ,hyperloop, has become a meme and a joke already
accepting bitcoins  in public transport is not as far fetched and impossible to do , but not going to happen either
Ukraine is electing a new president in 21 days ,  comic V.Zelesnkij is going to win ,judging by his landslide first round win over the current president P.Poroshenko
and I am pretty sure the plans ,even if there were any, will change

In the Kiev city administration they plan to introduce payment in city transport with cards with the calculation in Bitcoin since 2024. This may well happen and I see no obstacles for this.
Ukrainian presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky really won the first round of elections with a large majority of votes, gaining 30 percent of the votes of voters against 15 percent of the votes of the current president, Petro Poroshenko. I see nothing wrong with that. Zelensky from an intelligent family, his father is a professor. Zelensky himself has a higher legal education, has the intention to bring a new team of specialists into politics and to remove solid corruption, which under the current president simply swept the country. Zelensky did not express his views on the future of cryptocurrencies, but I am sure that he will not interfere with her circulation on the territory of Ukraine. I think that from April 21, Ukraine will have a new president of Zelensky, who will accelerate the implementation of progressive reforms in the country.

Ukraine’s Capital Kiev May Soon Accept Bitcoin for Public Transport

Authorities at the Kiev City State Administration (KCSA) are reportedly re-examining the merits of adopting Bitcoin (BTC) payments in the city’s public transport system. The move is part of efforts to upgrade Kiev’s public transport infrastructure to meet up with the standards seen in other major cities across the globe.

This is the news that I want to read.
I am getting excited when I see news that promote mass adoption to the public and makes the cryptocurrency industry has a real value in our society. I am fed up of games and gambling websites on the blockchain. This would be a real use case that will create real value for our economies.

I'll pay for the couple of km into town with the spare change running around in my jockstrap, not my lovely asset.

Why not keep your terrible asset (that constitutes the spare change) down to an absolute minimum, and thusly encourage the value appreciation of your lovely asset? At worst, it'll work out very similarly if you do everyday spending using BTC you only just bought. At best, everyone does that and the BTC economy benefits.

If you only care about getting rich, you're going the wrong way about it

Not sure about this news, but it is very unlikely that BTC price pushed to $5k for this news. However, you may want to check this shit. Cheesy

My money is on this being some guy posting on Facebook about how he mentioned to a bus driver a couple of years that BTC is kinda cool and the bus driver rolled his eyes whilst looking away. Then the crypto 'press' got hold of it.

And who the hell would want to pay for their bus fare with BTC anyway? I'll pay for the couple of km into town with the spare change running around in my jockstrap, not my lovely asset.

This is exactly the kind of news showing Bitcoin adoption for everyday use. Moreover, coming from a government is a bit like officially accepting it. In addition, over time, they may extend it for something else, such as a city in Canada that accepts few cryptos to pay taxes. Especially since the securities chairman called for the legalization of cryptos there is a good chance to become a real crypto friendly city

This looks like fake news, because I can't find absolutely anything about it in Ukrainian language, and searching in Russian and English leads to a single source, which is this article: https://traders-union.ru/iaftnews/kriptorinok/news/334625/

And that article cites "a reliable source in city administration", which probably means that the whole thing is made up and fake, probably in order to boost the current bullish momentum further. Bitcoin is in a very grey legal area in Ukraine, only in last year the central bank has stopped calling it "a money surrogate", so there's actually very little chance that the government is going to officially adopt it anytime soon. Plus you would need Lightning Network for that kind of payments, onchain payments are going to get expensive again very soon as we entering a new bullish season.

I doubt very much that the news of a single public transportation system in a single city thinking about possibly accepting bitcoin at some point in the future caused the current prices to surge by 20%. I doubt this news would have had any affect on the price whatsoever.

It seems like they are thinking about accepting bitcoin as a way to "top-up" a smart card that lets you access all forms of public transport. This seems like the smart way to do it - so you can top up in advance and not be standing around waiting for a confirmation before you are allowed to board a bus or train.

Kyiv City Administration’s plans to introduce bitcoin payments for public transport are very bold, given the fact that Ukraine has not yet adopted any bills that would legalize cryptocurrency and create the legal basis for its circulation in this country. Apparently, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, the former world boxing champion, is very positive about the prospects for the introduction of cryptocurrency in Ukraine.
Currently, four laws on cryptocurrencies are presented in the country's parliament, in which there are bills on cryptocurrency activities. Let's hope that Ukraine will have good laws on the implementation of cryptocurrency and the city budget will be replenished accordingly.

I stand with Ukraine.

Seriously though, it's a great news. I don't know how many people are aware of this, but Ukraine with its 44 million people is one of the biggest countries of Europe by population and the second one by area.
Yes, it's good that Switzerland had done this long ago and that Argentina followed earlier this year, but I think the more countries make steps in this direction the better.
