Kind of deceptive title, I think you'd be sentenced to 12 years in prison if you paid $12k worth of colorful aquarium gravel to someone in exchange for having them kill your former lover's wife.

Clickbait at its finest, OP is just desperate to get traffic for their crappy site.

I had to research about the site that they are talking about

https://www.quora.com/Is-the-Sicilian-Hitmen-site-on-the-deep-web-real

It looks like it's a website that exists or existed, so how was this woman found? I suppose there are more other people who were found, so why only talk about this woman? What about the 12-year prison sentence, she can't he appeal to the higher courts?

My guess is that it was a phishing honeypot created by police to catch people who want to hire hitmen. As for how they tracked her, maybe they simply traced her BTC transaction if she didn't mix her coins - can be very easy if she bought coins with her credit card.

So the website is real and they really offer services like a murder to anybody interested to pay. What I don't understand is the use of Bitcoin when everybody knows that Bitcoin is not actually a privacy coin and transactions can be traced by anyone adept to some technical matters. Well, in the dark web anything is possible and people who have the funds can get the products and services that their evil hearts may want. Now, we should clear the air that the sentence has nothing to do with Bitcoin at all.
Anything in dark web is possible but majority of them are just scam sites but there are actually some real dark services out there.I tried to read up the article and it doesn't mention about how the Nurse is being caught or just simply she confessed out the thing she had done to authorities. It isn't clear if shes been able to get tracked by authorities or not.
Intent of killing by means of service does really have an equaled punishment to that and I therefore conclude that Love is actually blind and make people do such foolish things for their loved ones and now she would suffer to prison.Do this case bail able?

A nurse was sentenced to 12 years in prison for paying $12,000 in bitcoin to have her former lover’s wife killed through a website that ended up being a scam

A 33-year-old Illinois woman was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Tuesday, after admitting to trying to find someone on the dark web to kill her former lover’s wife.

Prosecutors said nurse Tina Jones paid $12,000 in bitcoin to the “Sicilian Hitmen International Network” to have her romantic rival murdered, but the website was a scam. Jones pleaded guilty.
