And what about the greenhouse effect?

The narrative was always skewed against bitcoin. The simple fact is that bitcoin mining generally uses renewable energy or uses up excess energy on the grid that would have gone to waste anyhow.

But the media has shifted the facts to support their side, which is completly false.

There is still room to improve but the calls to stop PoW altogether is just absurd.

Environmental issue is one of the things I have been concerned since I can remember. We only have one planet Earth and so far not even Mars is quite prepared to take us in case of a great worldwide catastrophe.

you clearly don't understand the science, and simply believe all the IPCC propaganda on the corporate news

it's been debunked, for years. Greenhouse gases have risen, but the world isn't going to end. The IPCC scientists are wrong, and they know they are. They were caught trying to cover it up, 10 years ago Roll Eyes

It is believed that 73% of the electricity consumed by Bitcoin miners comes from renewable sources. This changes the narrative in multiple ways. Not only does it show the negative reports are taking things out of context, but it makes Bitcoin mining operations a major global electricity buyer.

Well, I am really hoping that the 73% figure is more or less the truth when it comes to the use of sustainable sources of energy for Bitcoin mining. Environmental issue is one of the things I have been concerned since I can remember. We only have one planet Earth and so far not even Mars is quite prepared to take us in case of a great worldwide catastrophe. However, as what I am also pointing out to others, all industries are using power and it is sometimes unfair for Bitcoin to be pinned down as a culprit when everybody should be sharing the responsibility for a sustainable Earth. We should be promoting a more environmentally-friendly Bitcoin mining not just on the source of power but on the very technology on mining itself.

I believe that mining can still be more environmentally friendly and profitable.

Both aspects you don't have to worry about. If you do anyway, then also ask how environmentally friendly the datacenters are that tech/internet giants such as Microsoft and Google are building at an astonishing pace. I'm pretty sure that you are contributing to that 'pollution' too because of all your family and pet photos/videos they store for you.

Miners are tough mofos. They have been declared dead multiple times in the last 30 or so days but the hashrate is holding strong. Minor decrease is normal considering the decline in the price. No capitulation to be seen. Roll Eyes
