Hey UmerIdrees
I hope you will not mind taking down this thread or locking this one. We already have couple of threads on cricket discussion including one for only test cricket discussion.
If we post the same things on different boards, oneday, cricket discussion will be marked as spam like the altcoin boards.

I thought we could have a separate discussion thread for each major series, but if you think it is not good for the community, then i am locking this thread now. We shall be using the main cricket thread for the discussions.  Smiley

Burn is playing well and has hit century and now England trail by 78 runs and have 6 wickets in hand . If they play sensibly they should have 100+ runs easily as an lead which could put little pressure on Oz thus making it more interesting match .

This time both the teams are strong after the world cup matches playing good cricket, England will have more hope.
I believe the series won't go one sided, probably there will be good play on every innings.
England have a different team in the test format than they had in the world cup and they are yet to find a permanent fixture in the opening slot and that is the biggest problem for England, with Australia their one day side and the test side are almost similar with Glen Maxwell making way to Marsh or someone else and i do not see other major changes, i expect a tightly contested series but i expect Australia to win the Ashes.

Seeing the performance in the recent test match against Ireland, a lot of doubt has been created in my mind regarding the performance of England. Ashes series is just around the corner and England will have to improve a lot if they want to show good performance against Australia.

England did not play well against Ireland in the first innings, but it seems to me that they have already recovered and now will try and win this match. I don’t think you should have doubts on England players because when the match is against Australia they perform at a different level especially when they’re playing at home. The pitches too will favour England as they’re the hosts, and this will be their major advantage against Australia hence I’m confident that England shall beat Australia.

This Ashes would be more interesting as England have beaten the OZ and entered the finals and ended up winning the WC. OZ on other hand would really like to take revenge back as they had crush their WC chances of lifting again.

As expected, England playing better than Australia in the first test. If they manage to take a 100 runs lead, it can put Australia in lot of pressure in the 2nd innings. The good thing is that there will be result of the first test and it will not end in a draw.

Ashes will be a test series so both team will select some test players and not all the players who played in World cup could play in the test series. We are yet to see the squad which will be announced by both the teams soon.

2019 Ashes series will start in August and England being a WC champion will look to play hard and well.
Lets discuss about it and who will have edge on the series.

Ashes is one of the most awaited series in cricket, the rivalry between Australia and England is simply fascinating to watch. England who have recently won the World Cup will be rejuvenated, and will want to defeat Australia to send a clear message to all the teams that they’re unbeatable. On the other hand Australia is not a weak side too, they’ll give England a tough fight but I’ll favor England to win the Ashes.
