Kemba Walker to the Knicks after getting a buyout from OKC… The deals just keep coming. The NBA looks a lot different this week and it’s still so early in the process. I feel like this is going to be the busiest offseason for NBA teams that we’ve seen in a while. So far no crazy jersey burning or any negativity surrounding any of the moves so far.

I hear ya, it has been a very fun offseason so far.  As my post above shows, I feel like my Bulls finally have a legitimate future.  It's also really nice to see that there really are the "Super Teams" any more.  I mean there are some teams that are clearly ahead of most teams due to them having multiple super stars ( Like the Nets ) but even still it's not like the Warriors team a few years ago or the "Big 3" in Miami.  Have the Suns made any interesting moves this offseason yet?

I'm not sayin that we are going to win a championship this year or the next, but what the Chicago Bulls have been doing this offseason is an absolute breath of fresh air for this lifelong bulls fan. For the longest time time under Gar/Pax it was clear they had absolutely zero clue what they were doing.  Making all these signs/trades etc that made no sense ( Jabari Parker, Dwayne Wade for ex). Now under Artūras Karnišovas leadership we seem to finally want to start being competitive and heading towards actually legitimacy.  Just a great feeling..FINALLY!
DeRozan, Caruso, and Lonzo Ball. Yes, I can say that's a good addition to support Lavine. He had been shouldering everything since he was signed for Bulls and now they provided help for him. Vucevic was not traded right? I can say that's a solid roster and a good playoff contender if ever the coaching staff will do it right. Well, its Billy Donovan so yes, he can do it right.
Some new faces and I hope they can build chemistry as early as they could. Trades are going crazy. You wake up and suddenly another pretty name goes into a new team.

Quote
Two-time NBA MVP and three-time champion Stephen Curry has agreed to a four-year, $215 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, making him the first player in history to sign two $200 million-plus contracts, his agent, Jeff Austin of Octagon Basketball, told ESPN.
Bad news for other teams. Curry ain't available no more. The Golden State Warriors locked him until the average retirement of an NBA player.
Congrats to Steph. He can easily retire after that four-year contract expires. The deal probably includes a parting gift from the Warriors management for what he's done to the franchise. I just don't know if that's also a great business deal as they prepare for the future campaign without him. Other players will also try try to push for that amount when they negotiate their contracts.
That's a lot of money, but he deserves it because although Thompson was injured, the season of the Warriors is still acceptable and that is due to the big effort of Stephen Curry. That's over $50 million per year, the biggest contract so far but he will not only receive that because he will also receive contracts from his endorsements which are big money too.

Btw, any news about Kawhi Leonard possible destination?
I've heard rumors he might land in Utah or GSW.

wow, this one is big if Leonard will not re-sign with the Clippers.

Kawhi Leonard remains one of the biggest NBA free agents still available in NBA free agency and one site evidently thinks the Phoenix Suns have a chance to land him, if he doesn't return to the Los Angeles Clippers.

We will probably see the Suns to be in the NBA Finals again if they sign Leonard, as other teams are improving, I think the Suns are also looking to improve their line up as they have a disappointed loss in the last Finals.

but seeing LeBron kick it out to a wide open Carmelo for 3 is going to be something I'm going to have to witness in person next year.
Bro, I hope you have extra ticket.  Grin

Thanks to the wonder that is magic internet money, Stake.com is kind enough to sponsor both of us to go see a game just by being excited to discuss events here on the forum. It’s a great thing and I hope we do both manage to see the King in person before he retires. Now that the Suns are respectable, I can even catch a home game in Phoenix and get some added star power.

Im kinda jealous for you guys who are able to see games in person live. For us Filipino fans, we need to travel thousands of miles plus the ticket lol. You gotta spend a lot to see them. The only time we can see NBA players in person is when they come visit here. I see few of them, but what I really want to see is the intense game in the arena especially during the playoffs.

Anyway, the Lakers is always fun to watch live since Kobe up until now.

I don't see him too playing with other teams either so its a good move for the Warriors to give him another $200M deal. The first player to receive 2 $200M deals in NBA history. Well deserve for the greatest shooter of all time Smiley.

Hassan Whiteside also agreed to a deal with Utah Jazz. Gobert and Whiteside? What?!
So that was the plan for letting Favors go. I think they are going to build a wall below the rim.
Its obvious that Whiteside is better compare to Favors and we saw how Whiteside dominate the paint when he is still in Heat. There is a time that he averaged a double double in a season (correct me) so this is a good addition for the defensive side of the Jazz. They are a good offensive team and now better with their defense.

Markieff Morris also signed with the Heat. I was just asking myself yesterday what the Heat is lacking after the sign of Lowry. A forward.
Now they gave the answer.
They got Tucker too but he is a smaller forward and now they got Morris which is a taller and a big help for the Heat bench.

Many trades happened again today. A quick search on google and you will see all of this but today's best trade I think for me is the Derozan going to the Bulls. They thought that the Bulls will give Markannen for him but it isn't so the Bulls got better right now although I think that they aren't enough to at least clinch to the playoffs but too early to tell. Lets see Smiley.

Big morning to you, and thanks for bringing that big news here.

Lakers finally listen to the fans, getting Dwight Howard will make their team better as this guy playing with big confidence and he has the expereince.
If AD is down, we have Dwight, if Lebron is down, we have Carmelo, what a nice decision Lakers have made. Now, it's time to get back that championship again.

I think the decision to sign Harrel over Dwight Howard last year is what cost them a Championship run.  Great to see they have realized this also and rectified their bad decision.  It's amazing to me that Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony weren't more sought after.  Sure, they might not be able to give you more than 25 minutes a game, but they are still capable of playing at a level most in the NBA can't reach.  Specifically Dwight Howard.  That guy looked like an all star in the last Lakers stint.  Still can't believe they rewarded him by not picking him up for less than 2 million last year...
I agree, they are old but gold.  Grin Dwight, he is going to pass that energy again to all the Lakers team. I think they forgot that reason why they got the championship last time. His activeness below the rim and the contagious energy that he offers is what really brings out their best performance.
Melo. Just give him some minutes and I am sure he can provide in the offensive area. Lakers now have speed, height, and a playmaker.
I think their next move is to add more shooters besides Melo.
but seeing LeBron kick it out to a wide open Carmelo for 3 is going to be something I'm going to have to witness in person next year.

I'm just going to say it...  This has been the most exciting day for NBA free agency probably since LeBron took his talents to South Beach.  So many moves today of not just big names, but the "other guys" as well (as Shaq would say).  I'm going to have to study all the goings on so I am not caught off guard next year seeing players in new uniforms.  I'm just so happy that Carmelo and LeBron will be playing together finally.  I've wanted to see that for 18 years now.  Granted they are probably both going to be taking a lot more jumpshots than I expected, but seeing LeBron kick it out to a wide open Carmelo for 3 is going to be something I'm going to have to witness in person next year.

Honestly as a knick fan a couple years ago I would liked to have seen this but I think they will overvalued carmelo's shooting effectiveness.  He did well being hid in Portland but on a big stage if Melo goes through a drought coach will be forced to bench him and then the media will come frothing in.  Don't think at this point Melo is a good fit.  It's like the mailman coming to LA with the Payton role being played by russ.  Can't have too any chiefs under one roof

Lots of transfers and whopping extensions for their contracts that's happened recently. What you guys feel about the transfer of Caruso to Chi?

Did Lakers just lost one of their best bench?

The Lakers still have THT, they also added Kendrick Nunn (from Miami) and also Kent Bazemore (from GSW), so I think the Lakers still have some good bench players. Although Caruso really blossomed in the Lakers uniform, but it's business to he choose a more lucrative contracts with the Bulls.

Lebron + Carmelo, that will be an awesome tandem in the wing.

The Lakers looked tired overall and need a playmaker which is why they went after russ.  Don't know if he will fit but with his attacking style you can see brow having a career year if he stays healthy.  I think russ always has the pressure on his shoulders so it will be nice to see how he plays with AD and Bron and not have to take the brunt of the offensive demand.  Just have to wait and see but I think russ will put some life into this twam

For sure he's overall performance will get affected to Lakers since he is not the only star on line up and his teammate are ball dominant so I expect that he's total performance will be different if he's willing to adjust in lakers. For sure the pressure is big for him and to the Lakers side at this moment since the expectation is so big as one of the greatest player of this season are now in their team hopefully they can really work on their chemistry since Lakers can totally give to the other teams a huge problem.
