@Slow death. Banks in America have also been allowed and will begin to accept cryptocoin deposits. I predict Coinbase and others similar to blockchain.info might also apply for licenses to also become cryptobanks.

maybe coinbase can do that, but the others similar to blockchain.info I have very much doubt that they ask a license because most of them don't even have a physical office at least, even if it was the smallest office in the world it would be something for people to think about: "if they steal money from me i know where to find them so i have 70% confidence in them"... but they don't even have this smallest physical office in the world

If binance, which is a large exchange, does not have a physical office and its headquarters is not known where the hell it is, I imagine that others will not strive to obtain a license

A news headline in a few years might say Bank of America hacked, 100,000,000,000 dogecoins stolen hehehee.

that day all news channels are going to make a lot of money with headlines about this event and the cryptocurrency critics will jump for joy and will be on all TV channels saying things like: "I warn you that you should not trust cryptocurrencies"

Well, this is going to be effective to a certain extent because 99% of the people are sheep.

You successfully convince Robert Downey, Jr. and get him to publicly say that Bitcoin is the best money people could ever have, you get a huge chunk of his die-hard fans suddenly searching how to buy Bitcoin, without even getting themselves familiar with it.

the problem is that when the price drops people give up bitcoin

That's part and parcel of a sheep mentality. I have known more than a handful of people who got into Bitcoin because it pumped hard. And they ended up happily buying while the green candle was at its longest. But when the price of Bitcoin corrected and corrected real hard they were also the first people who worried too much about it and ended up panic selling while the red candle was at its lowest. Buy high sell low! And I admit I used to be one. Wink

Many in the crypto space are lambs to the slaughter. They only differ in shepherds, some look at the price as the be-all and end-all, some are simply drawn by famous personalities.

U.S. bank regulator grants authority for national banks, federal savings associations to custody crypto

The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has opened the door for federal savings associations and national savings banks to hold cryptocurrencies on behalf of their customers.

The announcement, issued Wednesday, "applies to national banks and federal savings associations of all sizes" and states that such custody services represent "a modern form of traditional bank activities related to custody services."

this guy forgets that banks are also very important in our lives and you can't keep making comparisons between banks and bitcoin to encourage people to invest in bitcoin because at the end of the day people convert their bitcoin to fiat and keep it in the bank.

This has been the world of marketing. You need a young beautiful and flawless celebrity flaunting some skin to effectively tell the people how a certain soap is the best choice for protection against COVID-19.  Grin

By the end of Wednesday’s conversation, Burr—who was skeptical initially—concluded that the modern financial system is a Ponzi scheme run by banks and he is “getting Bitcoin” instead.

That reminds me of this exchange - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZSOB-bUwCU&t=15m35s

That Pompliano bloke seems to spend his entire life talking into someone's microphone.

One special day we will be beyond minor celeb excitement being newsworthy. I'm looking forward to it.

The Pomp forgot to mention that bitcoin is also a high volatility speculative asset that can multiply your investment by 10x. I reckon the persuasion might be 30 minutes shorter if he had begun with this hehehehe.

Anthony Pompliano, quote Bitcoin thought leader and influencer unquote

Bitcoin influencer Anthony Pompliano, a co-founder and partner at Morgan Creek Digital, took part in the latest “Bill Bert Podcast,” hosted by stand-up comedians Bill Burr and Bert Kreischer, to “prattle about the fundamentals of currency, bank fugazi, and Bitcoin.”

By the end of Wednesday’s conversation, Burr—who was skeptical initially—concluded that the modern financial system is a Ponzi scheme run by banks and he is “getting Bitcoin” instead.

Explaining the advantages of Bitcoin, Pompliano noted that one of its most attractive features is its resistance to inflation. This was especially evident during the recent coronavirus pandemic, he added, when the Federal Reserve began printing US dollars at an unprecedented pace to create a safety cushion for the economy. All the while, the US national debt has hit a record of $25 trillion and the Fed’s balance sheet broke $6 trillion.
