These are the other candidates if Leonard did not win, but if it's not Leonard, it could be Davis or Lebron IMO.

Davis - 20 pts - 3 stl - 3 blks - 9 rebounds
Lebron - 23 pts - 1 stl - 2 blks - 5 rebounds - 6 assists.
Paul - 23 pts - 6 assists - 2 rebounds.

~ next to Leonard was CP3 I guess and that's a better odds with 100.
He really did well and I wasn't expecting his performance. If only he had more assists (double-double), he could have won it.

I agree with your point, Paul ain't shooting a lot, he only shoots when he is free but he really do like to facilitate the passing, unfortunately some of the passes were not converted into points, too bad for him.

I would have won a great amount this game. lol...

Almost! I was expecting CP3 also to win the MVP when he starts shooting at 3s.
Though Leonard already took more 3s at the early stage of the game and added more points in the 4th.
It was a tough fight for the MVP at team Lebron at the end. But Leonard manage to dish more points before the game ends.
One of the best all-star game we have, great change of the rules!

I wonder who among us here vote for Leonard, we only have 1 vote for him which tells most of us were wrong with our choice.

Anyway, congratulations to the winners.

It looks like I'm the only one who will be voting for Kahwi. He seems like the guy who doesn't really care about trying to outshine everyone else.
That's why his odds of winning is high. Players who really like to win the award are Harden, Westbrook, and Giannis, these stars like to work hard to score to have a great stats in the game, but Leonard.. man, he is not gonna do that but if he will be given the ball he'll shoot it as he is also good in outside shooting.

Who knows he will get it this time around, odds are really good, isn't it?

I guess nobody else here saw it coming, really good odds Grin

30 points, 7 rebounds, four assists (with 8/14 shooting beyond the arc). Silent type but deadly players are always fun to watch.

Congrats to all those who bet on the Klaw.

Congratulations to those who bet on Kawhi Leonard as the MVP, you guys should enjoy that tasteful 10 odds of your winnings.
That was intense, I was not thinking Team Lebron would have a hard time with Team Giannis but Leonard deserve it, next to Leonard was CP3 I guess and that's a better odds with 100.

I think the poll has a mistake there's no Paul George on NBA All-Star right now, I think you've mistaken it for Chris Paul. If he is really there I think I'll root for him to win, this time I guess I'll go for those who can score most maybe Westbrook, Harden, Young and Lillard since mostly this favor as always for guards. Do the poll only limited to 12 because I think it will be for the best interest to some fans if what can we see on Sportsbet is what we will see as well here in this poll.

If Luka Doncic was in a better team I would say he is the favorite to win. He is having a fantastic season but I don't think he will be MVP. Would be great if I am wrong but I don't think so. I am still voting for him though. As someone who likes the Jazz, i am glad Gobert is even being considered.  Grin
Luka probably can snatch it if he has more minutes on the game.
The NBA team of Luka Doncic wouldn't affect the chance of having the MVP in NBA all-star 2020, because he is also in a great member of Team LeBron, there are so many great players in that team, so I think he will have a chance of getting the MVP in the NBA all-star 2020. Still, for me, Luka Doncic is a good player but not excellent, he is an outsider shooter before he entered the NBA, without a doubt Luka Doncic has been one of the most exciting players to watch in this upcoming NBA all-star. However, Doncic is still too young to be the best player in the league, but yet he has a chance if he is continually shooting 3 points.

Why there is no Russell Westbrook in the poll,? anyway, I would choose him to be an MVP as he could be a machine especially in exhibition games like this.
Try to recheck the Poll mate, Russell Westbrook is in the choices. I voted him too to be the MVP player this NBA all-star 2020 because he has the potential to do so. I idolize him so much because of his speed. Russell Westbrook is a fantastic player in the NBA with his explosive ability. He can attack at any time and from anywhere with his ability to run so fast. There is an article that I have read about his talent. He can run 21.6 mph, "Westbrook's top speed when driving to the basket. At this rate, he dribbles only once every 16.2 feet. 27.16: Maximum acceleration, in feet per second, squared, during Westbrook's coast-to-coast play". I am hoping that he would be in good condition when the game happens.

                               ~SNIP~!

Someone from the Lakers team would be good as Kobe was a Lakers legend.
I do bet on high odds in this selection but I might consider betting on Lebron in this game too because I am also a big fan of Kobe.
and thinking that Lebron has good odds here?no wonder that he might take this MVP,and also most of us has Kobe's memory and still in sentiment about His Early Death in an Viral Accident?
it will be great that Having MVP this All Star Game and also to become a champion in this Conference is best gift in Kobe's memory.

I think Lebron @10 is considered a high odds?

All players on the list considerable have high odds. Giannis on 4 still at high odds.

The game is unpredictable. We don't know who will play hard, as usual in every All-Star game.

On the other hand, lucky those who bet on high odds at skills and 3 point shooting contest, the winners there surprised me and they are not even on Favorites.

Russell is not the choice of the majority. Yes, he has an impressive performance but he hasn't brought much for the team than of Harden can do.
Giannis and Luka? It probably one of them who will win. Giannis did last year as well as this season but we've noticed Luka that had gives his best and outstanding performance which he competes on the floor.  And so, I gave my vote to Luka Doncic for this season.

Someone from the Lakers team would be good as Kobe was a Lakers legend.
That would only be between Kobe and Davis, you'll either get an odds of 5 or 10, but of course I like 10 so it should be Lebron.

but anyway now i am seeing Lebron winning the MVP this year.

We are about to find out soon as few hours from now the game will kick in.

hopefully one of the Lakers star here will win an MVP so we can hear a message like they dedicate the win to Kobe,

I love to hear that too. But, It's still okay if AD or Bron will not get the ASG MVP award this year as long as it will be dedicated to Kobe and Gigi and for the love of the game.
But, I have the feeling LeBron will win the MVP in ASG today  Grin

On the other hand, Buddy Hield just won the 3pt competition and was a big Kobe fan. So, It's just good to see someone winning to honor for the late Kobe Bryant.

i don't know what comes to these two because this is not the way they play together in the past games, does they both Feel the presence of Kobe that is why they seems to be combining both skills to win the game?and yes if they continue this way then Lebron no doubt will be the MVP this allstar game.
They are already playing the same, they are the most consistent performers int he team, not only in the offense but in the defense as well.
of course as they are building chemistry, they are getting better and better in the long run.
Yeah but you are correct that they are still building their chemistry and doing better, also the mindset from what i think they promise to Kobe Is still the other reason for the skills seems boosted what you think?but anyway now i am seeing Lebron winning the MVP this year.

Giannis was last years MVP wasn't he? I mean back to back MVP happened many times before but I feel like these days NBA do not really care about that as much and try to give it to more and more people instead of keep giving to same people.
I would love to see him win a back to back title but I don't think his team is capable of winning. Others are not looking for Kawhi and Harden and I think one of them will get this year's all star MVP. Luka is also one of the favorites but I think it's not his time.
Oh man, this is a hard option.
Giannis never won an all star MVP, he just won an MVP last NBA season.

Last year's NBA All star MVP was Kevin Durant, if you like to verify, you can check on the list.
http://www.espn.com/nba/history/awards/_/id/53

This all star Giannis is the favorite but I don't think he'll win the MVP.

About Harden and Leonard, it seems these guys really don't putting a focus to get that award. They will just play on their usual and will just go with the flow of how the game will be played.

I will agree with Leonard not really put an effort to be an MVP but I believe Harden will.

The one of one plays is what Harden like and he never won an All star MVP award yet so I think this time he'll show his best to get that reward and they will win for course since they are the favorites.

Oh man, this is a hard option.

There is no back-to-back All-Star MVP for Giannis as in the first place, he didn't achieve it yet. But if Team Giannis will win on that game, I see that he will be the MVP. No question about that. I think sportsbook providers put odds like that to Giannis which is lower compared to players on Team Lebron is because if his team won, he is sure that the main scorer. Unlike in Team Lebron, there are lots of players that are capable of getting good stats that can be the MVP of that game.

About Harden and Leonard, it seems these guys really don't putting a focus to get that award. They will just play on their usual and will just go with the flow of how the game will be played.

Actually there is no analysis involved who will be the All-Star MVP. It depends on the players if they will push for it like when Westbrook force to achieve it.

This makes sense. We can't really apply hard analysis here based on the players' performance. It all depends on who will go aggressive and will have a good shooting at that game. Playing time also plays a big role. As most of the cases, bench players will surely have limited playing time.

Right now, I want to consider betting on:

a) LeBron James - He is consistent with having a good number every All-Star Game. If not chosen as MVP, he always runs as one of the runner-ups.

b) Giannis Antetokounmpo - All-Star MVP is still missing on his achievement. I think he will push for this. Last All-Star game, if only his team won, he is a sure MVP there.

But I'm more interested betting in Totals: Over 300+ @ 2

As always, the All-Star Game total score is crazy year by year.

2019 - 342
2018 - 293
2017 - 374
2016 - 369
2015 - 321

This is a good topic to discuss on who will win as the MPV in the coming All star, Giannis is the heavy favorites according to the sportsbook odds OP had shared but it doesn't mean he will win. Giannis line up is not better that Lebron line up so I will bet on Lebron to be the MVP as the captain, he will be the one holding the ball most of the time so he has more opportunity here.
ooops seems like i had a company here ,Go Lebronm take the All Star MVP  Grin

yeah there are many supporters of Giannis and Luka yet we Know how a Captain Deal in such kind of special occasion and he is Boosted by the Memory of Kobe to bring Lakers(as player and a team) to the Top this Conference so expect a hard work he will bring to this game.
Just finished watching the Lakers vs Nuggets game and Lakers win the game.
i have just done watching now on replay and yes, this is an amazing Game.
What's special I saw is the combo of James and Davis, in this game Lebron scored 32 points and 14 assist while Davis got 33 points, if these two will bring a win for their team comes this all star, we can expect that Lebron will be the MVP. what do do you think ?

My guess would be Giannis, he plays the all star games like he does the regular season, some guys soften up in the game but not him.  With the team he put around himself I think he has a chance to at least lead the game in shots taken.  And with the poor defense that is played in these games I can see 10 plus dunks for him.  30 plus points is possible and if they win he might be the easy pick to win.

NO doubt he can make that figure during the all star game, but isn't it they are picking the winner from the winning team?
I am not sure with the new rule but usually MVP are coming from the winning team and I think Lebron team is full of MVPs on their own compared to Giannis team... what do you think about that?

For sure unless someone has a rediculous game the mvp comes from the winner.  And most of the time it's someone who won them the game.  If it's close at the end you can be sure that Giannis is going to get some touches with a chance to do something special.  And yes lebron's team has more guys on it who could end up taking over the game where Giannis team clearly he is top dog.

Not a good basis to look at. The All-Star Game will be different. We will not see a physical game here or the way they are playing during season games.

Yes it's not gonna be physical so the more these two will give good performance.
Lebron is bringing the ball and he is so familiar with Davis since its his teammates so we can expect more alley-oop shots in this game, Lebron (assist) Davis (shots), both will be added in their respective stats.

Latest news here, some changes have been made in the all star roster. Damian Lillard is now out due to injury and will be replaced by Devin Booker. He will also be playing in the 3-point contest as replacement. Not a bad replacement I think but he will most likely be spending most of the game in the bench. I doubt he's going to be considered for that MVP too.

What would happen to the bets if it's already placed before the announcement? will it be refunded or it will be forfeited?
I like Lillard actually but injuries happens, another one good man is down who could potentially win the 3 point shooting contest.

Just finished watching the Lakers vs Nuggets game and Lakers win the game.

What's special I saw is the combo of James and Davis, in this game Lebron scored 32 points and 14 assist while Davis got 33 points, if these two will bring a win for their team comes this all star, we can expect that Lebron will be the MVP. what do do you think ?

Not a good basis to look at. The All-Star Game will be different. We will not see a physical game here or the way they are playing during season games.

Actually there is no analysis involved who will be the All-Star MVP. It depends on the players if they will push for it like when Westbrook force to achieve it.

One of the considerations of giving a playing time at All-Star players is the votes they received. Since Booker was just a replacement, I also think the same that he will only have limited minutes and will have a plenty minutes instead at the bench doing cheering lol.

A close competition happens in the basketball in which everyone's on the list is trying to prove that they worthy of praises.
Lebron James is not new to this and even awarded for many times but yet, he is old enough and be sometimes outperformed by new aspiring players just like Giannis, Doncic and the last year MVP finals Leonard. But the possibility for LBJ to win again is till at a high percentage knowing that many LBJ fanatics are still supporting him.

Luka Doncic needs more experience and time for him to become a Most Valuable Player in the NBA. Although he showed us what he got, I know that he can improve more and bring us more highlights. In terms of Lebron James, he is just being hyped because of the fans and people who are supporting him even though he is old enough. I think Giannis Antetokounmpo will win this MVP Award for the 2nd time. As you can see in their team standing, they can dominate the whole NBA. It's a tough loss for them against the Indiana Pacers but I know that they will win more games again and it is not impossible to happen. I'm hoping for the Milwaukee Bucks to win this 2019-2020 season.

Hmm, we don't know because anyone from their lineup could steal the spotlight. Predicting the prospective MVP in the West is very hard to determine (unlike to the East) because all of them are really great..
Please be aware that it is not like the old format which is the East vs West, they change this from Team Lebron (captain) vs Team Giannis (captain), so basically this would be the same format if they'll not change it but we can't assume those who will still remain as the captain of their respective team.

Predicting the prospective MVP in the West is very hard to determine (unlike to the East) because all of them are really great. Aside from the King, AD might also get the award. The last conference final MVP — Kawhi Leonard, and Harden had also the characteristics to get it. And lastly, you can't easily exclude Doncic among the list despite of being young because his mentality and skills are very outstanding too. *Sigh For sure some of us are now having a hard time on picking. But IMHO, disregarding the skills since it was given to them already, I think Lebron will defeat them all. That's the perks of being the captain lol Grin.

I would not go with the expectation of the people, I like the odds of CP3 to win as the NBA All star MVP, so I'll take him.
If CP3 would at least given more minutes and will get 10 assist and 20 points, I think that is a decent stats to be considered an MVP from the winning team.

Who knows he will get it this time around, odds are really good, isn't it?

actually I even like him to be part of the 3 point shooting competition.

He is not part this time, maybe next all star season we will see him, his 3 point shooting is also effortless and efficient.
you can check his stats : https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/doncilu01.html

and these are the participants of the 3 point shooting.

1- Lillard
2-Joe Harris
3- Trae Young
4- Davis Bertans
5-Duncan Robinson
6-Buddy Hield
7-Zach Lavince

but he deserves all the support and Praises because he shows how Best he can be in the whole season so he becomes the favorite in this event, but the Odds for Lebron is also tempting because we also knew the man that can be competitive in this All Star Game.

though i am for Luka also in this one.

It is his first All star appearance if I am not mistaken, people got hype for this kind but the odds says otherwise.
He is not the heavy favorites but of course we love to see the love of Luka here, if he wins it would be another achievement for him.

imagine, Luka winning the all star mvp and regular season mvp? do you like it guys.

There are actually a lot of factors to be considered in choosing the season MVP. LeBron might be outperformed by young guns, but winning MVP doesn't revolve on that area alone. It consists of stats, media, leadership, how valuable he is in the team, age consideration, and the lists goes on. Kobe's death can somehow influence If LeBron will consistently putting up big numbers without missing many games.
Yet, I won't deny the most favorite to win the MVP is Giannis. This guy continue to perform on a high level dominating the league with his team have the best record in the NBA.

^^, yeah, I think it's time for Luka to shine in this All-Star game.

And he should be given the needed exposure to excel so that at this early stage of his career, he can win the MVP.

I also do like James Harden and Russell Westbrook chances as well, they've been playing good. Some high lights for Westbrook and then Harden dribbling in and out and then a alley-oop pass to whoever is beside the rim.

Give the young guys a chance to receive that kind of award in such a young age.
Maybe it could boost the spirits of the other young players which are really doing great now.

It's not really east and west now. The line ups are mixed and the only thing that's making it east vs. west is the team captain for both teams.

They changed the format but if you look at the line up, it still looks like an east vs west showdown as most of the team Lebron are coming from the West while team Giannis are from the East.

of the 12 players from team Lebron, 10 of them are from the west, while on Team Giannis, 9 of the 12 are from the East.
I think I just miss the old format and I am still loving the old one.

The All Star 2020 will be held in Chicago's United Center.

So who amongst the least are beloved in that city? Anyway, I will go with my player, Lebron James here, maybe he will be the sentimental favourite because of the death of Kobe.

Then Westbrook for his electrifying dunks, I'm sure that he will take it hard on the rim to wow the fans.

Westrbrook already won All star MVP 2 times so he is capable but if he will give it to his man Harden, then probably we will see Harden winning this.

Russell Westbrook always plays competitively every All-Star. Stat padding might be but effective at the end.

He already won 2 times consecutive MVP in the past All-Star game and always running as a candidate.

Hard to choose from these players. For now, I'm with Westbrook.

Welcome mate. By the way, it's impossible to ban someone from being a team captain.

The team captain was chosen because of the number of votes. If you don't like Giannis to become a team captain next year, hope that he received few votes from the fans. The top 4 should be fine.

And another one, if the NBA All-Star game will change their format like in the past where the competition is between East vs West players where no team captain was chosen.

Guys this is just for All-Star MVP.

Voting for Lebron due to Kobe's death, might be possible for him to get this opportunities to pay tribute to the man's legacy.  He can still grab this opportunities and prove his supremacy, my personal opinion though. Good luck to those who will going to bet for this event.
It wont be enough reason for such event for him to be recognized just because of Kobe's death. All thing or matter most on performance.

At the end of the day, he should still prove that he is the King and not only because he is currently on the Lakers (where Kobe rise as a superstar). Because if he got the award just only because of his tribute knowing that there's someone out there who deserce better, others might not still appreciate him.

I don't get it, why that kind of discussion should be involved here. Today's All-Star Game is a soft game, no defense, no offense. Pure fun, pure entertainment, pure enjoyment. No matter who wins doesn't matter. Players are allowed to do their own highlights since expect that it won't be contested nor got be defended. These players will just become serious if the game is nearing the end of the regulations (4th quarter).

Giannis was last years MVP wasn't he? I mean back to back MVP happened many times before but I feel like these days NBA do not really care about that as much and try to give it to more and more people instead of keep giving to same people.

I know Dallas is not really doing all that well but I feel like maybe Doncic could have a chance, dude is very very young so he will have many years ahead of him to win an MVP which is a great thing but also looking at the current candidates he is one of the best because he improves his team more than others, other teams are still good without the stars (not as good of course) but without Doncic, Dallas is literally a top pick type of team easily.

You are talking about the Season MVP I guess. Why others got confused on the subject of the thread lol.

All rooting for Giannis to pull off this one but i would bet for Luka this time and also odds isnt bad if you do try to balance of with winning probability. Grin

The odds are really tempting. There are lots of players too that I want to take a shot but right now I'm thinking of putting some on LeBron James or Russell Westbrook because of the high odds. Giannis is a worth bet too but I want to risk my money for much higher odds to make it more thrilling.

^ We are just the same, I voted Luka Doncic.
Even if Luka Doncic was in the wrong team, it wouldn't affect his percentage of chance in winning the All-Star. His stats are too good that it made him on the list of NBA All-Stars. Probably it is just not Dallas's time this year. 43-28.8 for 2019-20 isn't bad. I guess former rookie/younger stars deserve to experience the win. And I would bet for Luka Doncic, I can't even wait for the result.

I will go Giannis again.
Lebron James have some good number with almost a triple double every game.
But Giannis is a monster when it comes to double double. 30 points average with 14 rebounds per game.

I will take out Luka even though I really want him to win. Injuries.
Most presence is LBJ and Giannis except something bad happens which we don't really want.
With votes, it might also go equal. (or Luka will win the vote)  Grin

It may be easier to take a pick if we look at this year's roster first https://www.nba.com/allstar/2020/roster#/

The MVP is usually chosen from the winning team and the team assembled by Lebron has a better line up on paper. Since Luka Doncic is also there, I'll have to pick him. He is a starter and this is also his first time. He may want to prove to the fans that he deserves to be in the all star game.

Antetokounmpo was the favorites in betting but East needs to win in the competition in order for Antetokounmpo to have a chance of winning, I doubt that, really.

I believe the West will win so I would pick someone from the west, however,  I won't pick a starter as I like a bigger odds and since most likely this game will not be defensive and players love to shoot 3s, I would love to give that advantage to Damian Lillard @15.  Smiley
It's not really east and west now. The line ups are mixed and the only thing that's making it east vs. west is the team captain for both teams.

Giannis all the way! Bucks is a solid team which composed of talented players but not all-star unlike other teams. Giannis really carry his team in every match in regular season which can be verify on his stats records every game.

I hope that he can maintain this kind of gameplay during playoffs because he was always shutdown once he is on tighter defense just like what happened in last year playoffs. I cut my balls if LBJ or Anthony davis get this years MVP award.

You have to read the thread title again mate "ALL-STAR MVP".

Season performance is not the basis here so even how monster a player is, All-Star game is different. Limited playing time and the whole purpose is for entertainment purpose, unlike the old days where we can still see a hard game competition.

And if I will respond to your last statement although OT, LBJ and Davis do have a chance for Season MVP run too if they were able to pass Gianni's stats. But likely it will be difficult. Season MVP is stat-based and will not depend on how far the team goes.

Why there is no Russell Westbrook in the poll,? anyway, I would choose him to be an MVP as he could be a machine especially in exhibition games like this.

I believe the West will win so I would pick someone from the west, however,  I won't pick a starter as I like a bigger odds and since most likely this game will not be defensive and players love to shoot 3s, I would love to give that advantage to Damian Lillard @15.  Smiley

If Luka Doncic was in a better team I would say he is the favorite to win. He is having a fantastic season but I don't think he will be MVP. Would be great if I am wrong but I don't think so. I am still voting for him though. As someone who likes the Jazz, i am glad Gobert is even being considered.  Grin
This is only in the upcoming all star game, his current team has no connection with his performance in the NBA All star and he has a chance as he belong in the west where there are a lot of good players per stats compared to the East, if I am not mistaken, he is a starter so he has a chance especially if those who already won an MVP award will give way and give Luka more opportunity to create plays for them and shoot the ball more often.

if he can tally a triple double, that could give him a big chance of winning. at X7.00 odds, that should be a nice reward for Luka believer.

What do you mean by a better team? Both teams are better. It's just a matter of minute distribution and points focusing as the game will be on entertainment purposes while at the same time will have a Kobe tribute.

I'm rooting for Doncic but I see his time will be limited.

Good time to pick LeBron James. The odds are tempting. -_-

Luka probably can snatch it if he has more minutes on the game.
