I fail to see your point.
Apple is not accepting bitcoin -> fact.
We may wonder if they will do it in the future but that is like speculating, nothing more. I hate when journalists trick their readers because what we miss the most here is actually educated readers. And if MSM writes crap, that is a problem for us all.
They should stick to facts, easy.

OK.. I can agree with you. Apple is not accepting Bitcoin at this point, and that is a fact. Cointelegraph do have a habit of dishing out fake news sugar coated as clickbait and these sort of articles tarnish the reputation of cryptocurrency in general and make it less trustworthy in the eyes of the common people. Also, I don't want to speculate on whether Apple may accept Bitcoin at some point in the future, as the topic is on whether they are doing it at present or not.

I am not sure about this, but there are rumors regarding Apple Pay accepting Bitcoin as one of the funding methods. I guess they need to do that, if they want to stay in competition. Because PayPal has integrated Bitcoin in to its platform and that gives them an advantage. If the other payment processors such as Apple Pay stays away from cryptocurrency, then they will lose customers and PayPal will gain them.

In my view, this is the best scenario that most likely to happen as this does not require billions of investment on the part of Apple and integrating Bitcoin into what they already have can be a win-win situation with all the parties involved. Anyway, let's see if this speculation can really be a big reality sooner or later. Decision-making process in a big corporate environment like that may not come so fast especially that they don't have a similar figure like Elon Musk that can easily influence things to move fast.

Of course, bro! Being somebody who reads a lot of these junk MSM articles I can tell you that I was not surprised by that. I have one simple rule: if it is not on Google News on several different sources than it is 99% some click-bait shit.

Well.. it may be for click-bait purpose (and Cointelegraph do have a reputation for publishing clickbait articles). But in case PayPal and MasterCard are accepting Bitcoins, then the question is whether Apple Pay can refuse to do that. And unlike the smartphone segment, Apple doesn't have a monopoly in the payment processing market. They need to find new customers and expand their userbase.

At first I got amused but when I opened the page I realized that Apple Pay will not do anything more than allowing BitPay cardholders to use their card via the Cupertino payment system. That is a no news to me, sorry.

LOL... so this is how the news was twisted and presented as Apple Pay accepting Bitcoin payments? But in case of Mastercard, it is confirmed that they will be accepting BTC payments in the future. If PayPal and Mastercard accepts direct Bitcoin payments, then I don't think that other payment processors such as Apple Pay can ignore it for too long. Eventually they will also jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon.

Just a few days ago, there's the news that you can use bitcoin through bitpay cards with Apple pay. But it would be greater announcement if it's coming from Apple Pay directly that everyone can spend their bitcoins or connect their wallets to their service without any intervention of a third party service.

Apple Pay can now be used to spend Bitcoin

It is one thing at the level of officials and individual managers to mention the interest in such a coin as bitcoin. Another thing is to switch to payment for goods and services with the participation of bitcoin. I think this process must go through many stages before such an opportunity appears. The very fact of such news speaks volumes. If such a giant takes this step and switches to alternative payment, competitors will do the same. The world will change very quickly! Smiley
Apple can do those things simultaneously, they are a big company after all. They wouldn't have any problem with switching to payment for goods and services, they already have the ApplePay, they can just integrate bitcoin in that system. It is a good thing that the competitors will follow but I think that Apple is the one that is late to the party, Paypal and CashApp already has the connection with bitcoin, they are the only stubborn ones other than Amazon.

If this happens, then there will be an instant upward rise in prices. And it is possible that later the same fall. But the very fact that a company of this scale will enter this market officially and I think in a fairly large amount of "portfolio". The market this news even if it has already raised a lie. The question is: how long will this (price increase) continue? (how many more people like Apple will enter the market?)

Even if it does happen someday, it will definitely not be in the near future.  At the moment, Apple faces the most important task: "To maintain the ratings, and maybe raise, by any means available to the company" So now Apple is working on creating a machine and they are clearly not up to bitcoins now

@orions.belt19. It can be argued that they might invest in bitcoin with their cash on hand if Apple was not looking for a partner automaker to build the Apple car. However, it is also speculated that Apple wants to buy into an automaker and get an ownership stake with it. This will require all their cash on hand within their control before they can commit this to other investments, I reckon.

(Reuters) - Apple Inc has a “clear opportunity” to offer a buying and selling mechanism for cryptocurrencies, a move that would allow the company to immediately gain market share, according to a research report on Monday from RBC Capital Markets.
Article here
Could be baseless rumors after all the bitcoin hype after the Tesla announcement, sounds to be like whispers for now but is not far from actually happening. Apple is pretty conservative so make a big move like this would be surprising. It wasn't the same for Tesla because we all know how open to crypto Elon is. If it were to be true though, it could become a game changer for crypto-space. From 2017's retail FOMO, this year could turn out to be Wallstreet FOMO.

Hehe that would be a good story, however, it will certainly not happen. Apple is busy looking for automakers as partner with and to build its Apple car. I reckon they will not invest their billions in something that does not produce anything.

Earlier today, Tesla Motors announced it had made a major Bitcoin purchase and planned to introduce crypto payments in the future. Some in the industry are now speculating that Apple will be the next institutional player to adopt the crypto asset.

In a market report from Royal Bank of Canada Dominion Securities analyst Paul Steves, the introduction of the tech company into crypto could create more than $40 billion in annual revenue and make waves across the industry.

I am sure this is just a speculations but not so far-pitched considering that Apple has the money, and they have the desire to maintain financial leadership into the future...they can be taking this good opportunity to be a good player with Bitcoin as the platform, just like what Tesla has done a day ago. And in case, Apple will finally decide to make a big stake in Bitcoin, this can open up an avalanche of many other big corporate entities to also join the Bitcoin party. Welcome to the real big bull run!
