Yes, I can imagine how happy the homeless and people in need of help will be when they ask for wallets that accept bitcoin. This would be the photo of the year. Distribution of food is a very important and noble topic, you can't joke here, but at the expense of bitcoin, the fact that these two things are written in one sentence raises questions. The PR team of this company overdid it in my opinion. Although I may be too critical. If you had nothing to eat, what would you choose a piece of bread or a share of bitcoin?

@Karartma1. It will also be good for Chipotle’s image. It appears being bitcoin friendly on 2021 is becoming a good marketing and promotion device to attract more people. This is very similar to 2017 when many businesses also wanted to use the blockchain to appear more modern hehehe.

Considering they were on the verge of bankruptcy it's actually a nice move. The new CEO turned Chipotle business upside down and gave the company a huge turnover boost.
Let's give them credit, they're donating money which is good overall especially for bitcoin's image.

Livecasino, 20% cashback, no fuss payouts.
Yeah probably an April Fools joke or whatever but not really because of the prize as I'm sure 100k isn't something a big brand like that cannot afford (and the free food as we know actual cost is probably only 30% and since people will buy to get the chance, they for sure will more than make up for it).

It's the bit about teaming up with that poor guy that stinks of a joke;)

I might be the only person who is more excited about winning the free food than winning the bitcoin hehehe. It also appears that bitcoin is becoming as a type of marketing device.

Of course, and pretty effective isn't it?!
If they would have said they were giving away $100 000 in fiat it would a normal promotion like a hundred others, they've switched to bitcoin and as you can see, free promotions on every crypto block or so call news site, thousands of tweets.
Just as the blockchain naming a few years ago when companies were changing their names to attract buyers for stocks.

But one thing, they plan to hold this on the 1st of April? There are like 364 better days to announce a giveaway than this one!  Grin

Let us only hope this is not an indicator that bitcoin has reached its all time high already and be will beginning another bear market similar to what occured on 2017 hehehe. The pumps have been weaker and old miners have been dumping according to some analysts.

Actually have the same interest where i dont really expect to win some free bitcoin but rather getting that free food. Lol.

When it comes to these kind of events then i do always have the impression that these are just those common show-offs or advertisement. They do spend up $100k in bitcoin and $100k worth of food
for nothing, of course there would be always a catch.

Bitcoin has been a marketing device for some time now.

Do you remember all these companies like overstock who got a boost in sales when they added bitcoin payments?

Do you remember how Mcafee became famous again for talking about bitcoin and then he used that fame to pump shitcoins for money?

I'd be excited about the food too if only I had a Chipotle in my town.  Grin

I got something to speculate with since their website is called "https://www.burritosorbitcoin.com/" what if this is their lowkey way of having a survey on knowing how many people are more interested in having Bitcoin rather than burritos and if the numbers are right they might soon accept Bitcoin as a direct payment in their establishments. For me they won't suddenly team up to a crypto related entity just to have a Bitcoin as prize. This is in-line with their digital restaurant which the article has mentioned that has opened last year so there is really a chance they are also seeing how many people are interested with Bitcoin itself.
It could be both ways, getting benefits from the promotion they made while gathering some information more about of how many people will be able to pay Bitcoin for food. I wonder if people would like to participate such giveaways because I'm not sure about the Bitcoin as a prize but I'm sure the food is the real deal as a giveaway.

And now, the question is what kind of requirements they needed before making a giveaway to be done.

I like such ideas for advertising and product promotion, it would be good to use Stefan Thomas in this advertisement because his name filled the newspapers after losing Bitcoin, I think that this promotional campaign will be mutually beneficial and everyone will benefit from it and contribute to the spread of Bitcoin, I wish I had been there I could have had Get some free food.

You have to give the marketing department at Chipotle some credit. They certainly know how to turn heads.

The fast-food chain has announced plans to give away $100,000 in Bitcoin this Thursday as part of its National Burrito Day promotion. (It will also give away $100,000 in free food.)

Chipotle is teaming with Stefan Thomas, the tech founder who made headlines earlier this year after losing the login to the hard drive that contained $387 million in the cryptocurrency. As part of the promotion, the chain will encourage customers to go to BurritosOrBitcoin.com on April 1 to guess a six-digit code. Ten thousand codes will unlock free food. Three will unlock $25,000 in Bitcoin. And 50 will unlock $500 in Bitcoin. Players will have 10 tries to guess the code.
