There's no official news yet on their side but I don't believe that they never invested in Bitcoin. We just don't know but they might be holding some Bitcoin yet it is not officially release since they don't want to create a fomo or something. This is what I think would happen if they would actually invest in Bitcoin but I have a doubt about who's starting this fake news to make a fomo when there's no official news about their team then it's still useless using this kind of strategy to push the price.

This might be a move from someone to make Apple invest in Bitcoin but this is just not selling since most people know this is a fake news. Smh

@Renampun. I am quite certain Apple will not buy and hold bitcoin in their balance sheet. I would be willing to eat my own penis on national television if I am wrong hehehe.

I wouldn't joke that way, because we all know how JM ended up - even though he admitted that he didn't mean literally what he said on that occasion. Also, I wouldn't bet that Apple will never invest in Bitcoin, it may take another year or five, but if Bitcoin becomes an asset with a few trillion $ market value, only then will it become attractive to such large companies.

Breaking news. Apple has sold all their bitcoin according to sauces.

However, there might have been some interest before Elon began to tweet negatively about it.

before apple officially makes a statement to the public then I will not easily believe the news that they are buying BTC...

Apple's CEO has shown no interest in cryptocurrencies and that has been the case for a long time. it's pretty obvious that the guy was just making a joke that caused an uproar lol.

"Altcoin someone" says Apple bought many bitcoins... Anybody can come up with a speculation like that. The manipulation attempt is at McAffee levels on this one. It is all rumors which means it is all air.
Trading based on that speculation is gambling which you are probably going to end up on the losing side.

However, manipulation was not @AltcoinGordon’s intention. He was clearly joking. It was the cryptoshills in youtube that began spreading it as rumor and the twitter infuencers and the bitcoin news media followed without confirming the sauces hehehe.

...

Wait for a news update from the jokers in bitcoin news media hehe.

That's even worse. Whoever is pushing these random-ass twitter comments like it was real news should be ignored. Since the space is not regulated I guess It is not illegal to push fake news that would affect the crypto prices. It is a very dick move though.

Maybe somebody is very desperate and looking for ways to unload his/her bags. Could that be Elon?
Theyre getting paid to do such thing? Possibly, because they wont really be telling out things for nothing because once the community would end up or turn out to be discourage or have the feels of
being fooled then those bad impression would really stick out forever. In result? that would really be affecting their reputation or popularity because i next time those kind of declarations or
joke tweets would really be just automatically be ignored once they do say the same thing again.Public or the community might be fooled once but not twice.

If this one turns out to be true out of those bashes then that would surely boost up their reputation. Its just like that.  Cool

Much of the social media shills clearly are getting paid for them. Similar to the Twitter bounty campaigns in the forum to tweet and retweet a project. There is nothing wrong with this as a marketing tactic. However, news media websites that create articles based on unconfirmed information is clearly bad and irresponsible.

I reckon the community does not know the truth anymore because much of the news is either hype or fud. When real reports of something is about to occur, we have become inclined not to listen to them anymore. China’s ban was the best example of this. Everyone thought it was still fud.

There is no such thing as "bad reputation" in the crypto space.

McAffee died a hero even after all the manipulation he did. Elon is still a crypto hero. People still care about his opinions even after all he did.

As long as those news outlets can attract your attention, they are successful. Their job is to gather views and people easily fall for it.

It's very sad and regrettable to see some people spreading rumors to make the price go up a lot and they make big profits... market manipulation Is a crime, I don't know how to report these cases to the police, but we have to stop these kinds of things, it just hurts the market. imagine that people are motivated to use bitcoin as a payment method, but with certain people spreading rumors so that the price increases a lot all people will be interested in buying bitcoin with the aim of earning a lot of profit with these rumors

Crypto Twitter has exploded with talk that Apple will soon announce a Bitcoin purchase in the billions of dollars.

I wouldn’t agree that there was any virtual explosion here, because that tweet is almost a week old, and if I’m not mistaken this is the first post about it on the forum. In other words, this has not achieved nearly as much success as those behind it had hoped, and the reason is that it is not easy to sell people lies today - unless of course you are EM and have almost 60 million followers who will believe everything.

As for Apple and Bitcoin, I think they are in a much more unfavorable situation when it comes to the owners of their shares, and among them, there are those who do not really appreciate BTC (Berkshire Hathaway Inc - 5.82%). Yet in the article I found a very interesting observation that says the following :

Quote
"Apple’s install base in 1.5B, and even if we assume only 200M users would transact, this is 6.66x larger than Square. Therefore, the potential revenue opportunity would be in excess of $40 billion a year (15% incremental top-line opportunity).”

If there is truth in this, it does not seem logical to me that Apple will stay aside forever, because it is not very wise to turn its back on so much profit - of course, I am not talking about investing in BTC, but about integrating cryptocurrencies into their business.

It never crossed my mind that one day, "sauces" would become a reliable source for cryptocurrency-related stuff Cheesy

I'm not familiar with most of the people that kept spreading that rumor further but by the look of things, they just want to capitalize on the situation by being in the spotlight...
- Personally, I highly doubt we'd witness such a move anytime soon.

I never thought that TikTokers who probably never actually had a wallet of their own would be wealthier and more respected than good old Bitcoin educators who spread the word and did only positive things for those around them. But hey, I guess the world is unfair;)

This would be more believable if Apple were to be buying some other nonsense coin like, I don't know, Libracoin. Cause, you know, Apple. Think different. haha.

Everyone should prepare to be disappointed. This rumor started with a tweet of @AltcoinGordon as a joke. However, after hundreds of likes, retweets and youtube videos, I reckon the desperation for hype caused the CEOs and fund managers mentioned in this article to hope the rumor was real. They might also be shilling similar to many of us here in bitcointalk altcoin speculation hehehehe.

Crypto Twitter has exploded with talk that Apple will soon announce a Bitcoin purchase in the billions of dollars. For example, Galaxy Trading is one of many pushing this rumor. They say the figure is more than $2 billion.

Whereas the CEO of ChainLeak, Joshuwa Roomsburg, puts the rumored purchase amount at $2.5 billion. Roomsburg added, if the rumor is true, he will buy an iPhone to commemorate the occasion.
