Discussed earlier before about tipping, I still think it's really not a vital feature at all, then again am not on social media except for work so I'm also certain I don't know what I'm talking about. And those who interact with Bitcoin already know how to put up QR codes or addresses already anyway. Lightning does seem intuitive, I just can't see social media people wanting to tip also on Lightning unless it's dumbfire functionality on a Twitter wallet itself.

BUT, as much as I think tipping and NFTs don't rock my boat, I feel like NFT abilities are at least more wanted by social media users, than tipping. Seems like a right vibe is all.

Strike is not only limited to certain countries, it's also KYC, hence not so appealing for bitcoiners.

I'm a little surprised that Strike couldn't (or didn't want to) increase their availability outside the US, and it's known that it is only available in El Salvador where they launched the Bitcoin Beach project - which was actually of what preceded Bitcoin becoming a legal tender in that country. KYC is something that becomes inevitable when it comes to such large projects, otherwise they could not be realized. However, the vast majority of people are not too worried about it, so we often hear the phrase "everyone knows everything anyway, I have nothing to hide".

That is fantastic.
Besides that, they're also using the Lightning Network which is definitely the best thing to do because it's going to make transactions much faster and at the same time make use of LN itself which is underrated because people don't want to use it.

In the above article, it mentioned "worldwide" but since the receiver still has to use Strike, then that defeats its purpose to a large extent [at least until they integrate it with something else]!

Strike was there in the testing phase and it makes sense to be the first live, especially as it looks a bit rushed (only iOS? Cheesy). Strike is not only limited to certain countries, it's also KYC, hence not so appealing for bitcoiners.
But it was said that Twitter tips will use other LN solutions too, even non-custodial ones, when the Bitcoin tipping goes live, but I guess that it'll take time. A good list is here:

They mention using Blue Wallet, Wallet of Satoshi as LN custodial wallets and Breez, Muun, Phoenix and Zap as non-custodial wallets, so there are plans to add other options for tips maybe even upcoming Square hardware.

That is fantastic.

I'm sure that they will crack down on a lot of KYC related issues but that's just something that we have to deal with given any centralized integrations with BTC.

I'm not that fond of NFTs but anything that can propagate decentralized crypto adoption would be good. Dorsey did all of us a solid here.

Twitter rolls out bitcoin tipping for iOS users via Lightning, looks to NFTs for the future

I don't know (nor care much) about NFTs, but I think that this is the news of the day. Much more important than the DNS "hack" that will be forgotten in a few days. Bitcoin tipping is getting live on Twitter. And it works integrated with LN.
There's not much to add, the topic was covered since it was a rumor, but now it's live (at least for the lucky iOS users).

For now, the integration is only rolled out to iOS users, but Android is soon to come, promised Crawford.
