Refs are human. That's all that I comment about what happened. We have seen Lebron James retaliated with a missed call and Patrick Beverley getting a T for recording a video about the foul. But let's face it, we can't let robotics dominate the game. It's a human that must make the calls and they can make mistakes.
I also argued with it in Game 4 when I thought Sabrina Ionescu didn't make a foul at the last play of the game that made a Lynx shoot 2 free throws to win the game. Still, we must accept that the referees can make this kind of mistake and Liberty thought it was alright. I am not against if anyone tries to battle with it but the Liberty won and it's over.

I guess the point they are making is the refs trying to make the right call at the right time, as if it was that easy.

I don’t really follow this league either, but I placed a bet on New York Liberty when they were down by double digits. I bet on them winning by 11+ points, but they just fell short. No big deal though, it was just a small bet on a game I don’t usually watch. Since it was the last game, I think I’ll just check out the highlights to see if my bet ever had a real shot.

Agree to that, Jones gave them the perfomances that they needed to win this first ever title  no question about winning the FMVP, she's everywhere and she really creating that space  the good thing from her is she's a two-way player, she's giving a tough time for the defense and for the offense though I would love to see Breanna to win it but stats wise Jones really deserves the credit.

That's true, they needed everyone's contribution to win this tough match against the Minnesota Lynx. Today, it's Nyara Sabally who stepped up her game for the Liberty.

It's done. Finally, this is the first franchise championship of the New York Liberty. But again, the Lynx didn't give up, they made it tough for Liberty, the defense was high level, the Liberty needed to be locked in to win this tough match.
Jonquel Jones the Bahamian Beast is the Finals MVP and there's no question about it, she was the consistent one and Stewart had always been relying on her whenever she was in a tough spot which is like "always".

Just seen post from a social media and it was a very close game almost a snatch but Lynx managed to escape that game and froce it to a do-or-die game, Stewart and Sab needs all the help not just for their offense but more on the defense as Lynx really bringing them a hard time, they both deserve the title whoever win the finals, but hopefully Liberty will find ways to adjust and make that executions to win.

Damn it. I thought they were going to finish it. 2 possessions and no score in the last seconds of the game, that was a waste. Coach Sandy Brondello had 3 timeouts remaining and did not even use one after Stewart got the offensive rebound. She could've made a good play so they could take the lead but what happened is the other way around.
Minnesota Lynx made every possession for the Liberty look so difficult and even Stewart had a hard time scoring. The last shot of her is like a hail mary and that was not what I was expecting from her. Sabrina's scores are also mostly from the inside, I think she didn't feel like she could score on outside shots.

Anyway, it's a close game and they will be back at home in Game 5. Some say it's all scripted for the purpose of gaining more money from the tickets but I don't feel that way. Both teams played way hard and they used every talent they had until the end.

Yeah, damn it! Another one-pointer for me. I hate the feeling when I lose like this. It's rare to happen but I don't want it. I'd rather lose because I lack 2 or 3 more points adjustments but a 1 point is like a sucker punch.

Minnesota was loud. Why not? Their first quarter was so damn hot, McBride was hitting her threes and Collier was hitting her mid-range shots and Liberty was forced for an early timeout just to calm things down.
But Stewart is just so nifty with her moves, she won't let the Lynx get away that easy and caught fire making 3 point plays and three-point shots. But Ionescu's last shot was definitely special, almost like a Steph Curry move.

The Lynx cannot be underestimated at home, they are playing great and their roleplayers are stepping up their game. Their three-point shooting is also scary, especially from Carleton and McBride, the chemistry is high with Williams and Collier. Game 4 will not be easy for the Liberty.

Unfortunately this handicap of yours didn't materialize as Liberty wins only by 3 points, the way they win the game shutdown all the fans of Lynx just like how they've been shutdown when Lynx snatch that game 1 from their own homecrowd, Sabrina's long range shots was challenge but she didn't mind and manage to make it and win the game. Far as WNBA goes, I started watching specifically because of the Caitlyn Clark and Reese hype. Reese lost steam and my interest halfway through the season, but being from Indiana I got to see a lot of Clark. Quick trigger on 3's and has some really off nights, but her passing game is the best in the league.

Me either but I put my biases aside and just let them play to watch what happens.
But to me the individual players are more interesting with their accomplishes then the actual league play.
As with this game in the play-offs tonight. I am watching it and wouldn't have known about Napheesa Collier having the most points if I didn't start watching the pre-game.
That being said I am going with the Minnesota Lynx and the over for this game 3.

I gotta be honest, I never thought that I would have any interest in the WNBA in a million years.  Not trying to be sexist or anything, it's just not that fun for me, being that if and when I have time to watch basketball it's going to be the NBA and mens college ball.  That said, Clark has really changed the game and this years rookie class had been fantastic ( Cameron Brink especially  ...That's a tall tree I'd like to climb).

It's going to switch homecourt and yet the Liberty is still the favorite. Damn it. I really want to take advantage of the profits if ever they are the underdog but I had no choice again but to take that -3.5 handicap. They better win this one. Great catch, Stewart and the gang manage to established that early first quarter lead and not to allow any rally for the Lynx they now tied the series and will try to continue dominating, I did not watch the game as it was too early on my place, but by checking the updates online Liberty wins with a comfortable deficit.

-7.5. I don't get it. After losing I thought they would put the heavy favorite for the Lynx. Are they telling us that the win of the Lynx is a fluke?
Well, the Liberty did have the lead for a long time during that Game 1 game and I bet that's the reason why they are putting this huge handicap. Still, this is a fan bet for me, it's not a recommended one because I am just betting from emotion. I badly want them to win this Finals.

Though I'm not blaming Stewart but it was a miss judgements for her, first when she attack the basket leaving her teammate open but she force the shot hoping that ref will call the foul, then that missed important FT that's huge I didn't expect her missing that knowing that homecourt advantage is really important.

Nothing to ask for this finals, Lynx really push their way snatching this game 1 and take that home court edge, let see if what will be the scenario these upcoming game 2, GL!

Damn! The Minnesota Lynx is strong.

They did not even get a lead for a long time and yet they are coming back over and over again to cut the lead and make the game super close. The largest lead was 18 points and they pushed hard to comeback and I believe that's a record of the largest comeback in WNBA Finals history.

Napheesa Collier was the one who put that dagger in the final seconds of the game. The fadeaway. That's the best option that she could do against a large defender Jonquel Jones.

Yes, I think this will be tough for the New York Liberty, and let's face it, they shut down Alyssa Thomas so there's a chance they can also shut down Breanna Stewart. But, I do think of her as the Kevin Durant of the WNBA so she will definitely do her best to score even if there is tough defense against her.

Yeah with that total dominance from Minnesota there's nothing that Suns can do, they're down from the very beginning and Minnesota established that lead not to allow any chance of a rally, they played well both side, I think it will be another tough finals for my favorite star but hoping that since there's no mental issue I mean emotional issue unlike last season where she's taken by the death of her wife dad, I hope Stewart will continue to play solid and win this one.

The Minnesota Lynx played really strong. They got a good lead until the end of the regulation and they never let the Connecticut Sun get back.
I think the New York Liberty will have a difficult time with them. They are playing great defense and they convert it to offense. Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams definitely led the offense with great performance while Alyssa Thomas of the Sun was shut down and only scored 7 points. She also got just 3 rebounds which is so rare of her.

I think the Connecticut Sun will win the game later. They made some mistakes in their homecourt and gave the Lynx a chance to take the lead of the series but this ain't over and even if the Sun will be playing on the road, I think they will give their full force.

Yes, I am taking the risk on the New York Liberty to end this series against the Las Vegas Aces. They want the crown so bad, take it. The momentum is there and I bet their confidence is high that they could beat the team that upset them last year.
It was 3-1 in favor of the Aces last year, now the Liberty can get their revenge and it will be sweeter if they make it a sweep.

Also, I think Connecticut will come back strong. It's a defensive game against the Lynx so they just need to strengthen theirs so they can get the lead back to 2-1.

I placed a bet for the Las Vegas Aces +6.5 and fortunately the game was closed and my bet won. Game 3 will be interesting as the odds has shifted with the Aces as the slight favorite on their homecourt.

Cameron Brink getting engaged seems like relevant news. Granted she’s injured and may not be the same returning from a torn ACL, but had she stayed healthy she surely would’ve been one of the big name rookies we’re all talking about. Between coming back from an ACL tear and planning a wedding, I think this next season may not be her finest.

What a nice revenge if they'll beat them with a sweep, though there's still a possibility that Aces will try it harder preventing that to happened,  it will be interesting if how they'll adjust as Liberty is really playing so well with a high confidence with each other. 1 more and they'll be back in the finals again.

They handled things perfectly today and I wish it would be the same in Game 2. They are giving everyone on the Aces team a hard time to get an open shot. Sabrina Ionescu also did some great defense getting 2 steals and 1 block. That's nice, they needed that, especially against the Aces whose strength is from their guards like Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray.

Obviously, they are hungry for that championship as the scars from last season's loss against the Aces are still there. They want their revenge and it should be now. Eliminate the Aces in the semis and their chance for the championship has a higher percentage either against Sun or Lynx.

Hopefully they'll win, it's goin to be a tough semi-final series to both teams as they both knew how good the players and the system from both sides, it's a matter of good executions and how star players will help each other to win the game, and like you mentioned, Stewart needs to step up the level of his game as it will be an expected showdown of all the stars from both teams..

For me, the WNBA season ended when Caitlyn Clark’s team got eliminated from the playoffs. She’s fun to watch and plays a lot like Stephen Curry. I’m looking forward to watching her club build a team around her and grow their way into the WNBA Finals. I can’t wait until all the ladies in the WNBA are as talented as she is someday.

Indiana Fever cannot win against the Connecticut Sun although Clark really gave me some hope in that 4th quarter with 4 minutes left. Shot a three and it went in to get the lead.
This is good for them though, especially Caitlin Clark who just experienced the playoffs in her rookie year. I mean, that's still something. I know a lot of WNBA fans are expecting a lot from her but considering the achievement that she reached right now, it's still great.

Let's go to the Semis.
New York Liberty versus the Las Vegas Aces - these two teams are always expected to reach this spot so it's not surprising and surely one of them will be in the Finals.
Minnesota Lynx versus the Connecticut Sun - The Lynx just reached the 1st round last season, now they have a chance for the Finals if they beat the Sun. It will be a difficult task but we will see.

Fever versus Sun. That's going to be super entertaining.
Maybe as they add more teams, the playoff method will be different. More like the East and West too or maybe they will come up with something else.

For sure, just like another Bird for me, though Clark is a AI already having that decent productions and really helping her team,  her impact not just to their franchise but for the whole WNBA is really huge, winning the ROY is nearing for her as she continues to impress everyone who loves watching the game, like you mentioned she's going to be a monster just hoping that she'll not going to have any major injuries that will ruined her career.

Every sport has rivalries. It’s what makes it fun. The internet can’t stop themselves from mentioning that this has been the closest two rookies have been when it comes to skills. Although on a head2head, it’s obvious that Clark has the edge over Reese but I would say Reese also put up a good fight and can’t be dismissed.
It’s a shame that Resse has to sit out the rest of the season but I still sense an excitement for the remainder of the season. I think both Clark and Reese have a very bright future ahead of them.

Today another city will be added to the expansion teams with the announcement of Portland getting their own WNBA team.
Golden State and Toronto were already ready to receive a womens team to each of those cities within the next two years.
Now Portland will be added to the league and be the 15th team to be coming within a couple of years at the Moda Center.

Clark was always going to win rookie of the year anyway.  She has just been too good across the board amd taken the best shots from the entire league.  I know Reece is a rebounding machine but her shooting just isn't there yet.  Clark shot just fine and couple that with 8+ assists amd 5+ reb a game and you habe a special player.  Took that team from the bottom to relevent in a half a season.  She is gonna be a monster for years in this league.

Yup, the league is benefiting with these rivalries and for sure they will keep that as it is, while social medias and those so-called vloggers are really hyping and also benefiting from them, as per report Reese suffered from an injury that will give Clark additional advantages in taking the possible ROY.

Let's enjoy what we are witnessing and moreso with those potential games that we might win decently..

But the thing is she cannot come closer to Clarks potential and what worse with Reese right not is she is suffering from  season ending injury which is really bad for her.

WNBA is getting a lot of hype for their rivalry and for what happen to Reese I guess he will set for long time watching Clark to dominate the league. But still hoping for faster recovery since WNBA became more interesting especially if Reese is playing around.

This lady is phenomenal. The love for the game is there, the competitive spirit is high, and she badly wants to win every game.

Seeing people cheer for Angel Reese like she’s the next Shaq is crazy. Her fans on X are celebrating her getting another 20 rebound game but she shot 23.5% from the field. She consistently can’t make a layup and just tosses the ball to herself off the rim. Still, casual WNBA fans think she’s good. The actual stats that matter, like her +/- today was -3. She’s a liability, not a star.

Again, the winning streak of the Indiana Fever was broken. Minnesota Lynx did it.
Chicago Sky is just in their tail with 11 wins while Fever has 13. They have to put more gap so they can reach the secured playoff spot.

Also, the New York Liberty's supposed 9th winning streak was broken by the Connecticut Sun. The Sun lead by 13 with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter but the Liberty won't just give it up. Breanna Stewart keeps on shooting those threes that helped them get close to a single digit but the Sun keeps on coming back too.
That's the first time the Sun won against the Liberty this season and it's sweeter because it's on the road.

Later, we have Sky vs Aces and Wings vs Sparks.

Liberty clinched a spot in the postseason from what I seen of the playoff picture.
Reese had a season high for rebounds last night but the Chicago Sky still lost.

Season still has a month until the play-offs start for the league.

Alright, Indiana Fever won against the Mercury. They will need all the wins they can get to secure that playoff spot. There are still a lot of games that will come but it's getting more interesting as we move on.

Today Mercury defeated Sky (85-65), Lynx defeated Mystics (79-68), and the Liberty was still strong defeating the Sparks in a blowout game (103-68).

And she is just in the first year of her career. Wow! Sadly, they lost in that game. 18 assists was the highest which was done by Courtney Vandersloot back when she was with Chicago Sky.
Who would not hype this lady? I mean she is playing like she had been in the WNBA for a long time and it doesn't feel like she is a rookie. Also, there's a major change in the WNBA MVP race thanks to that performance which put her higher in the rankings. Then, she might just get that Rookie of the Year award since she won't be joining the Paris Olympics USA Women's Basketball team.

The New York Liberty are the heavy favorite as they are the top seed of the league right now while the Chicago Sky are in the 7th spot. Plus, the Liberty had been playing great at home with a 10-1 record.

After the Connecticut Sun won today against the Atlanta Dream, they are back to being tied with the New York Liberty at the top of the league. 17-4. That's the 3rd winning streak for the Sun. DeWanna Bonner led the offense with 23 points with Brionna Jones and Tiffany Mitchell in double figures too. It's now the 4th losing streak of the Dream and it's not looking well for them.

The Sparks are the ones who stopped the 6 winning streaks of the Aces, but now they won strong again versus the Dallas Wings. A'ja Wilson scored 28 points and 10 rebounds. She is definitely going to win the MVP this year. It will be her 3rd if she successfully wins it. The odds are like -550 and I think that says it all unless injuries happen.

I think I’ve only bet on the WNBA once in my life, but I’ll admit that without a daily NBA pick now that we’re in the offseason, I miss it. I may have to take a look at the standings and start making some guesses as to who will win in order to help keep the fun alive until the NBA returns at the end of the year.

Correct! The WNBA is getting a lot of attention thanks to those two. Instead of pulling them down, why not build them up? That game of the Las Vegas Aces at home against the Indiana Fever won't be a sold-out ticket if they are playing against a different team. Caitlin Clark has a lot of fans and in that dome, a lot of people are wearing her jersey.

The sad thing about Clark and Reese situation is that they are lacking the understanding that it benefits them. Sure, there could be better players that doesn't get enough talking because of these two, but also we are talking about a situation where they may make more money thanks to these two and isn't that more important at the end of the day? I feel like we are talking about something that is getting a little bit attention grabbing but a lot of money sharing thanks to this.

If I played in WNBA and made 2x what I used to make and nobody talked about me and did not even know I existed, I would still be happy about it and thank these two. Reese is definitely doing something great, that double is important because Reese is showing female version of Rodman levels of rebounding, so she may deserve it. That doesn't mean she will win it, Clark is still scoring bunch of points and willing herself to get wins for her team so she still has a chance, I would say the yare neck and neck right now.

Aces versus Fever. They are getting physical under the rim. Mitchell is also hot with the flops done by the Aces or the referees think it's an offensive foul.
Even with just a 6-point lead (as of time of writing) by the Aces, the odds are at x5.00+. I will take my chances at taking that bigger profit in case the Fever wins. It's going to be tough but I think they can do it.

They should not be jealous of them but instead, be happy that this is an opportunity for them to be in the spotlight. Being in the spotlight means more sponsorship and that also means an increase in their salaries in the future.

So thought they would breeze past the Lynx. But it was one of the players birthday that I recognized from their all-star game so she really hyped them up with her no-die attitude that day.

While the NBA is on the break, let's show some love and support to the women's division, the WNBA. I'm completely new to this but I'm just going where the headlines and news are. Like for this match that I bet for, it's about Chicago Sky versus Las Vegas Aces. And I bet for Chicago Sky because of Angel Reese. I was about to bet for where Caitlin Clark is but their match is suspended on stake.com and I guess for other bookies too. Well, the odds aren't bad for the Chicago Sky and I like it this way, so wish me luck.

Yeah, sponsors and advertisements. They badly need that. But because most of the money is poured into the NBA, it will be difficult for the WNBA to even get near a million dollars per year. The viewership, the pay-per-view sales, and the short run of the season. That's also part of why they are not paid well enough.

It's probably about more viewership and investors that will come to them and that's going to give a better salary cap for most of the players that are getting more fans and viewers.

Indiana had a rough 3rd quarter and have back an 11 point lead going into the 4th quarter. Chicago showed some grit to take this game and probably add more fuel to the rivalry talk.

Even though the 2 teams are not very good currently, they make the game interesting and are turning me into a fan.

Chicago Sky just ended the winning streak of the Indiana Fever. But it's a close game, Sky won with only 1 point and Caitlin Clark recorded a high double-double. 17 points and 13 assists. The Fever is now 1/2 in their upcoming 5 consecutive road games.

Well, watching her is truly entertaining. It's not every season that we will see a rookie being hyped all over social media and the internet so this is something new. It's like Garnett entering the Timberwolves, KD in Seattle Super Sonics, and Wemby in the Spurs. The expectations are high and it looks like she is doing alright.

We discussed it on the other thread of WNBA before. No WNBA player reaches $1 million in one season. Not even higher than $500k.
Fingers crossed that soon they will have more money to give these talented players because they are showcasing great entertainment too.

I have also read articles and discussions about how they're being paid low and the comparison was there about NBA and WNBA.

I guess that soon, they'll be on that side that they'd receive higher pay when the audience and viewership of theirs grown bigger.

But this time, it's all about the engagement that they're getting and they should protect that one player which is the reason why the attention of many is being dragged to their league.

This is the reason why most non-fans actually tuned into any WNBA matches because of what they had heard of this player and the struggles that she has had to endure during the season so far.
I believe they want to see how she deals with the pressure and if she can actually perform well under it.
It has fascinated those who weren't into women's basketball and those who were already fans alike.

I was an avid fan when the NBA was off for the season. But haven't had a chance to watch one game in it's entirety just yet due to work or just out enjoying the summer for myself.
But will certainly watch one of these matches in which Clark is in later in the month after I had received my fill of  sunshine.

Interesting to see what others have been saying on the thread so far about how their lower pay affects these players and their performance or lack there of on the court. And the possibility of them rigging these games for financial benefit.
The league would definitely suspend any players from playing if this were the case as they had done in the NBA last season to one of their players for betting on the other team.

I am not also fond of watching WNBA but let's give these girls a love and they're playing the game which means for everybody.

It's actually difficult to find what you are looking for. I mean, just look at our thread which had been literally dead for the past month because of the NBA, and now it's active. I agree. Caitlin Clark actually boosted the amount of fans of the WNBA because of her performance during the March Madness and then the drafts. A lot of things are expected of her and I think she is doing alright. I mean, unlike the other hyped players.

Not much of a fan myself, but I have watched a few games because of everyone talking about Caitlin Clark. WNBA has a little entertainment but I really don't like seeing all the negative press regarding jealousy, race issues, or why people are watching.

Honestly, who cares why people are starting to watch. Be happy that they are watching now and revenue is about to pick up for all the top stars in the league.

It looks like the chemistry with Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark is getting better. Both of them are scoring good and their offense is clicking. Let's see if they can continue this against Dream on a road game.

A shame about Cameron Brink’s injury today. After watching the replay it looks like it is probably a torn tendon that will cost her the season. I’m not a doctor but I’ve seen plenty of bad knee injuries. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. She was leading the league in blocks and was supposed to play on the 3x3 women’s Olympic team.

Although Clark has revived the NBA somewhat I still can't bet on the game.  Seems too likely that cheating can still be involved.  These girls that play don't make a lot of money and feel like it would be too easy to bribe one because of how lucrative one cheated game can make them.  I stick with sports where the players male a ton of money.  Not full proof but at least it's better than nothing.

400,000 for the month of May is quite the accomplishment while the NBA play-offs were still going on.
And I probably be betting on these games once the play-offs are over with so to get my professional basket-ball fix.

I am glad that even without Elena Delle Donne the Washington Mystics are still playing strong. Ariel Atkins and Brittney Sykes blew out the Atlanta Dream yesterday.

Seattle Storm is also doing well. They even beat the Aces at their home last week. 3 powerful ladies are providing offense for the Storm. Ogwumike, Jewell Loyd,  and Skylar Diggins-Smith.

I damn like what is happening early on this WNBA season. The Aces have already lost 5 games. Lynx is at the top of the West with 9 wins. That's new.

The Indiana Fever has not won against the New York Liberty yet in their two meetings. Later they will face the Connecticut Sun for the second time. Will they get their revenge this time or will it just be another loss for the Fever?
Caitlin Clark seems to be finding his rhythm with her team. She played 34 minutes and scored 22 points with 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. This is the highest career point since she started the WNBA. I bet she can do more.
