Does anyone know if the mining aspect is very powerful?

Also would bitcoin merge mined coins work with this?

So these 21 built computers are going to do the smart contract processing. Only issue is the cost of buying a machine for that vs etheruem just downloading it. Technically 21 made an altcoin but hardware based. If I'm correct, it's a Trojan horse in disguise in a good way. Knowing btc heads are against any alts, why not built on top of btc then introduce another coin/fee payment system later on using the same hardware. Say if you wanted 1 minute confirmations, that's not possible with btc. But if you introduced a new feature in these mini computers to allow such a thing, you then have an alt sitting on top of btc.

Makes sense?

I'm spelling out the implications to get the discussion started.  Notice the part in the intro that says:

By the end you should be equipped to navigate the more advanced Bitcoin Developer Documentation. And then you can go off and build smart contracts and autonomous corporations.

I like what 21 is doing and there definitely will be a lot of overlap between what Ethereum and Bitcoin can do.  There are also many technical differences between ETH and BTC to ensure they both have unique advantages over the other in some areas.

The most obvious differences are network effect, blocksize limits and turing completeness
