We have a new auction in a few months, auction=volatility

Auction = new lows. Last auction TD bought from +600$ and now we see where Bitcoin is. It's not healthy for price.

I'm one of the lucky people who bought at the lowest of this term. Smiley If I sell right now, I would make $35 per coin (which is perfectly fine for me). I wouldn't be that greedy to wait for $250 because profit is profit, be it a large one or a small one. Time to sell some right now. Cheesy

current price is due for a another drop to $230 range. don't think we'll see $250 within a few days. as usual, few bucks up, few bucks down. $35 profit per coin equals around 15% profit, which is very decent.
The price is staying around ~$240, i think it's the time to change the tittle to $230-260 range Smiley

Holds VERY strongly here.. very strongly..

Perhaps time to buy some coins eh..

yeah, now it is time to hold strongly. specially because now we have put the low price behind us and bitcoin price took the big hit to the face and survived after that.

at this rate i would wait and see what will happen, cause we can easily go back down to sub $230-220 again. if the price can hold up and grow more then i would consider $300 a possibility too.

it seems people don't have a clue about what happens in the world...

maybe people imagine we live in small islands separated from the rest of the world..

it was so clear, right after the bilderberg meeting we had many actions going on in different directions (ie google changing name, other companies too).. bitcoin xt...

that wasn't a "small" thing... bitcoin XT was a BIG attempt to attack bitcoin.
and WHO do you think was behind this? the big names... big families... rockafella.. rothchildren... those type of shit..

there is a big interest in destroying btc by them.. and btc HOLDs greatly... it was almost not affected by this attack.. just some dollars... it is getting back as fast as they lost...

seeing this there is an obvious strength in btc... and in very few time (economic real few time... like 1 or 2 years) BTC will just keep increasing...
it is not only proving to be reliable but very strong..

things are changing... and the old fashion way of ruling the world by hierarchy is not going to work anymore...

If it stays above $240 for some time, $240 could form a support level.
We will have to find the next range.  Smiley

$234 was a definite resistance level.... $242-ish is another one. So, if we push to $250s now, then this would become a support, yes. Doesn't mean we are definitely out of the bigger down trend, though. I think we will test $260 or low $260s before coming back down to test support in the $100s. I still think this market is fearful and ready to panic.

Bitcoin needs to decide if the holy grail is transactional value or store of wealth. And it needs to acknowledge that it is base settlement layer, and allow the ecosystem to grow atop it, instead of being able to pay with btc at starbucks. An emergence from this identity crisis is what is needed.

I agree. I think it's better to let Bitcoin take care of larger transactions and let some fast confirming alts take care of small everyday transactions. For example, I don't mind waiting 30 minutes for secure confirmation if I'm booking a holiday, or buying a car. But to buy coffee with Bitcoin means you need some third party to basically 'insure' that the transaction is genuine before it is approved by the blockchain so it appears seamless, so it's like inviting Paypal or Visa to the party.

Exactly. If the cost of small transactions with Bitcoin exceeds 1-2%, Bitcoin is unnecessary.

I thin soon we will see price over 300$ again.Bitcoin was very very stable during the last couple of moths and resisted successfully the debates and uncertainty so now is the time to see reward of faith and patience. It already reached to 240$ and now will be up and up.

As I type this message, BTC-USD is now at $242 which is very nice
I bought some BTC when it was down at $218
Time to exchange I guess than loose again

if you bought a lot at $218 and sell at $240 then you make a nice profit. but if you only bought a small amount then it is not worth selling it right now.

Well, if the price goes to $250, you will still regret selling out at current levels.
Nice appreciation in the past 24 hrs.
I think the drama of XT is over and price of Bitcoin begins to move upwards.Yeah as you said if he sells now and price goes up or he doesn't sell and price drops a bit in both cases he will regret. His situation is very confusing for him lets see how does he handle. Grin I see price of Bitcoin to go up and up from now on based on last 24 hours activities in Bitcoin market.

not long need only 1-2months

for most people waiting 1 month is way too long. they want the price to peak every week. they don't seem to realize that we're not in 2012/very early 2013 anymore.

Since my last post in this thread, I've re-evaulated my position. I've been a part of this drama too long to stand on the sidelines, so I'm back in the 1 BTC club.

I think we can see the August dump as a devaluation due to the forking debate, and that's exactly where we are at now. It's also easy to see the support at $200, so it's pretty stingy to look for cheaper coins in the next short while. Bitcoin may come out of the upcoming September 10 Consensus conference looking good, while the Agora closure may end up being a benefit if detractors want to say that the price is being propped up or sustained by illicit drug transactions.

A bit narrow.  $225 ± 25 is more like it. The price has been in that range for most of 2015. When it got outside of that range, it came back. There was a bubble during July and early August, but it popped.

The floor was tested in late August too. Thankfully, it rebounded.
If the price had stayed below $200, a lot more people would have lost faith in bitcoins.

I'm out of Bitcoin right now and am just watching things unfold. If it stays in this range, and there is clarity with the XT/Blocksize debate, then I would buy back in. But I can't see a reason for it to rally in the short term, and if it does creep up I'd be wary of a quick pump and dump. Another reason to hold off from buying right now is the upcoming Agora Marketplace closure. The site has given due notice but when it goes down many people could cash out as there is one less reason to use Bitcoin. This darknet site operated a huge economy, worked efficiently (the now defunct Silk Road had little if any buyer protection for example, but Agora is excellent in this regard) and people are wary of alternatives, rightfully so.

Silk road had escrow.  What does Agora have that is different?

By the time I checked out Silk Road, escrow had been removed, and newcomers ran the risk of being ripped off by using it.

Except the two pumps we had this year this is the price range we are moving for the whole year. As long as nothing really pretty negative and unexpected happens we should have found the bottom here.
However what really bothers me is what do we need to really get up again and hold the next $300 price level?

Perhaps time to buy some coins eh..

looks like that will be the price range of bitcoin for the coming months till end of this year.
but of course if it increases to $280 again i'll be very grateful

I really don't know why people care so much about a few dollars either way. I won't be buying for a few more weeks, I doubt we even started the dump yet but it will likely come before we bounce back 'if we bounce back.

$280 is nothing to be very greatful about friend and that won't be happening this year.

Anyways, I personally think we will see 300 at least one more time this year. Price hit 300 twice so far right? On pace for a third time by Dec 31st. Whether or not the price holds at 300, I couldn't tell you.
