When you use the "receive payment" feature on electrum and select the address to "expire" after a certain amount of time, electrum will not prompt you to provide the same address to another person who is going to pay you for that amount of time. This helps you prevent giving the same address to two people who should be paying you at the same time. After the address "expires" it will be put back on the list of addresses that it will prompt you to give to people who are sending you money (assuming no payments have been received to that address).

At no point will the private keys be removed from your wallet.

No I dont escrow anymore.
So I gave my address to an automated system for a payment coming in 3 weeks

I did not realize there was such a thing as a 24 hr address and I cannot change the pay to address in the automated system

What will happen?

You will get paid. There is no such thing as a 24 hr address. Address are always valid, he only important quesion is whether or not you have the private key for it. I know of no wallet that removed private keys, unless explicitly done by the user.
