This is a really beautiful gemstone that you will love! My wife Melanie and I hand-pick every stone that we sell. We live in Bangkok, Thailand and spend most days at the gem market here picking through parcels of stones looking for the true beauties. We found one in this citrine!
This natural citrine weighs 3.76 carats and measures 13.26 x 8.75 x 6.43. YES! It has great proportions for a pear! This isn't one of those long, skinny pear-shaped stones or a short fat one. We throw those back into the pile- we don't buy them! This citrine also has gracefully sloping shoulders. Sharp shoulders are another downfall of many pear-shaped gemstones.
As with all of our gemstones that are called "natural", we guarantee that this stone was mined from the earth. This stone comes from Brazil. Most citrine is heat-treated and you can safely assume that this gemstone was treated with heat. Of all of the gemstone treatments, heat is probably the most widely accepted.
