Ten (10x) 16 AWG braided copper 6-pin PCI-E Molex connectors (each rated to 240 Watt / 20 Amps with 80 degrees C insulation)
28-inch long DC power bus made of heavy-gauge flexible braided copper-silicone cable (each rated 960 Watt / 80 Amp with 200 degrees C insulation)
Wiring soldered to the power terminals (minimizes electrical and thermal resistance)
All energized contacts fully insulated with high-strength dielectric epoxy, protected against wear, tear, and heat
PCI-e connector layout optimized for S9 / S7 / L3+, with dedicated connector for controller
Technical Notes:
We solder the conductors to the power terminals, providing for absolutely minimal resistance and optimal heat conduction/dissipation. The solid contact also protects against accidental disconnects, contact sparks, and interface oxidation.
We insulate every hot point with hard electrical epoxy and heavy-duty shrink wrap to prevent accidental shorts and increase hardiness.
We use proper wiring gauge and insulation:
PCI-e insulation is rated to 80 degrees Celsius, and has FT1/WV-1 flame exposure rating
16 AWG PCI-e wiring is optimal given the rating of the 6-pin connectors on your miner (240 Watt per terminal).
Thicker wiring (e.g. 14 or 12 AWG) cannot be reliably crimped to the pin, resulting in local overheating and burnout.
Three 16AWG wires have higher current rating than the 2x 14AWG "hack job" wiring you sometimes see. Bigger is not always better!
We use quality PCI-e connectors with proper crimping:
The weakest part of the PCI-e power link is the pin boot where the wiring is crimped. This is where overheating and burnout starts.
Our PCI-e wiring is custom-made by a leading power cable manufacturer, and is specced for durability.
The connector material has high temperature rating, the pins are correctly sized, and again - the crimp is done optimally.
