He does not care, I reckon. He might be presently holding all his original bitcoin and has never dumped them to hold bcash hehehe.

I wouldn’t bet on that, because the force of the attack he and his partners invested during 2017 required large financial resources, and they could only get that if they sold their BTC to pump their new shitcoin. At one point they even came dangerously close to equalizing the price of BTC and BCH, and I believe they played their strongest cards then because they were confident they would succeed.

In the end, they only proved that there is only one Bitcoin - and the paradox of the whole situation is that they financed the whole venture.

It was a pump and dump, however. They might have used their bitcoin to pump and sold on the community and take their bitcoins back and the community's bitcoins hehehe.

I agree into these words!

They wont really make BCH that big if they havent invested that much wayback when it is just still new or in its younger years. So i do have the same view that he doesnt hold up any bitcoin into his own stash.
Also, they do long time realize that theres no point on trying to pursue on what they are aiming into since from the beginning but actually they are quite persistent even up to these years.

Roger might only be testing what type of reactions the announcement might make hehehe. Similar to MMA fighter Conor Mcgregor when he announces his retirement. He might be a fan hehe.

And around the same time this was announced Bcash reached an all time low on the Bitcoin ratio. That must've had him squealing into his pillow. This is a bad time for crypto attention whoring. There's not much attention to go round.

Apart from boosting the forum traffic while people searching how accurate the news is and if they can trust the untrusted Mr Roger Delusional Ver, why the announcement is still there in every single page?

false alarm, it seems.

i can't bother confirming the chat log---you need to sign up and confirm an email---but apparently roger ver said this in an AMA on coinmarketcap:

They'll go and hang on r/btc even though that place is starting to get a little ragged too.

folks in r/btc actually seemed happy at the prospect that this could boost their traffic. it's a sad state of affairs over there. Cheesy

This might just be a way for Roger Ver to boost forum.bitcoin's traffic? I mean he looks like they successfully controlled r/BTC there is no doubt he also wants to have a piece of the pie by taking a jab at BCT. Right now you'll see several articles about this forum closing and suddenly Roger Ver saying a different thing so definitely if he is looking for a lot of exposure for the website he definitely got it by saying a closure statement by a site admin and then him taking it back and maybe in the next few days he might bring the "good news" about it continuing.

I guess we should brace ourselves for a deluge of BCHtards appearing here soon then......

Nah. They would never 'stoop so low', not that there are very many of them anyway. The BCH thread on here could do with some love. It'll have been stuck on the same page for two months soon which is an amazing achievement.

As far as i remember i do able to visit out this forum when theyve launched a campaign wayback https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoincom-gamesnews-signature-campaign-1671041

It might be indirectly but it is part of Bitcoin.com and never consider to make registrations or even to surf further more.

On this such closure, we might not able to give the accurate reason but its not actually a surprising thing.

I have never been a member of that forum, but I cannot rule out that I have visited it sometime in the past. When I tried to find a forum via Google search using the keywords' bitcoin forum, the result appeared only as the last on page 2 of the search. I think that says enough about the popularity, as well as the fact that the administrator who posted the sad news has only 52 posts since 2015 Huh

I think I went there twice.

In this day and age I doubt any newly launched forum will ever get a lasting foothold. It's not a format that many are interested in any more, they're into stuff like Telegram groups et al.

You either have to be long established already or you're toast.

one of the most popular forums in the crypto community, has abruptly announced closure.

Yep, it was in top 10 most popular bitcoin forums... of maximum 10 bitcoin forums existing. And I wouldn't be surprised if that would have been the 10th place.

It seems that, after all, people do look for quality...

Roger's forum has never reached the popularity that it needed to compete against bitcointalk.

Rizlarolla went there after discovering the thousands of farmed accounts here that also caused him to speculate that the many hacked account claims during 2016 were also scams.

without any explanation from the admins or roger ver, the most popular theory circulating is that the forum is a time/money drain, and that they are consolidating to cut costs. https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/hexwfl/the_bitcoincom_forum_is_closing_on_july_23rd_2020/

given roger ver's grudge against bitcointalk, i'm surprised he would give up his rival forum. tbh it seems sorta unlike him.

Bitcoin.com Forum Closes on July 23

Quote
Bitcoin.com’s forum will close in one month.

The Bitcoin.com forum, one of the most popular forums in the crypto community, has abruptly announced closure.

A place for the heated debates and thoughtful cryptocurrency-related discussions, Bitcoin.com’s forum will terminate its services on July 23, 2020. The news was reported by the forum’s administrator in a thread posted on June 24.

In the post, the forum admin provided few details about the upcoming closure. The post does not specify the reasons behind the action.

Bitcoin.com’s forum is associated with the Bitcoin.com website — one of the oldest and biggest cryptocurrency-related web portals in the world. Backed by early Bitcoin (BTC) adopter and investor, Roger Ver, the website provides a number of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) services, including a cryptocurrency exchange.

Never visited it myself, but I'm sure its quite a shame... A real, crying shame in fact.
