ooo, might be interesting... lol. And thanks Hueristic.

So.. I wonder if this will get enough momentum then to get a decent amount of people together?  It's hard for me to get into March Madness too, unless I have some sort of wager on it with friends...

I have no opinion but won't be joining this one as I just cannot get into a sport I don't like.

BUT I hear the XFL is coming back! Now that I'll be all in on! Cheesy

Have fun guys. Smiley

Anyone have strong feelings about buy in? I think 0.15 or 0.2 would be good, like $50ish.

Yeah I think .2 is a friendly enough wager to make things interesting. I will post my tx info soon and update the OP. Anyone who wants to play post their info below and I will send you a pm to the link to join the group.

Edit: OR... we can do 0.05-0.1 XMR per entry and give people the option to have multiple entries?

Interesting, looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

So is this a random thing like the Superbowl Squares was or do you actually pick teams?

You gotta make a bracket before tourney starts.

THX

Hueristic, it pretty much should be classified as random since the chances of you picking all of the correct winning teams are just that microscopically small. Hell, even just picking who will win the whole tournament is hard enough. But yeah, you have to actually select who you want/think will win... not just leaving it up to chance what teams you “get”.

And jwin, sounds good... I’m fine with 0.5 too, but I guess we’ll see what the general consensus is on what people are willing to gamble once/if more people want to join. Something tells me we won’t be having that big of a jackpot for the winner as we did last year... lol

Thx, I just skimmed last years thread.

@DrHiggins Very Prophetic! Smiley

7 folks in the NCAA bracket challenge so 14 XMR to me.  Wallet address is:

433XT8hcut3gQR6kw5pPpSXivmw1m3PqA2nLHGLBX5RzbSynrRUZizPN5EW2kDDZAafZrQTsYZutxTF GQAryiiCgFgQhi71

Maybe next year XMR will be $50 $250 and we all put in .5 or 1 XMR.  Its been a few years since I won a bracket.  We only had 7 in the group this year, had there been more I probably would not be collecting these funds as my predictions were all busted up from first round forward.

Yep, congrats! ... fun fact: last year's super bowl I lost $50 to jwinterm... that was 100 xmr. So if we keep that current trajectory we will be putting in .05-.1 xmr buy ins.

I'm down. Don't mind being escrow either. Maybe 0.5 XMR for buy in, but 0.25 is OK too.

So it's official... we've finally come around full circle.  This is the start of the second year of feeding our unhealthy gambling habits by gambling on sports games with magic crypto money that has gotten us stupid 1,000%+ gains.  What a world we live in..

Big thanks to everyone who has played so far and congratulations to the following winners from last year's games:

2017 Winners:

With that being said, a lot of exciting news coming out about the new 'upgrade' that will happen to Monero's codebase which will make it cheaper and more efficient, especially more efficient with this group considering multisig will be out.  Jwinterm has always been the escrow holder for these competitions that I hold, and even though I personally trust the guy, it might make more people feel more comfortable to participate where there hard earned monroes are held in escrow by multiple 'trustworthy' people (whoever that may be).

Also, I will put this on the record that I will do everything in my power to win one of these god damned events if it's the last thing I do!  Smiley

Anywho... without futher adieu...

2nd Annual Monero Madness of 2018

Current jackpot is: Huh

______________________________________________

Issues to be discussed:

1) Escrow? If so, who?

Jwinterm? Someone else?

2) How much for the buy in?

Maybe .25? I don't really know what is ok for everyone who wants to play.
______________________________________________

Here's how to play:

Send xmr to the following public address.

Public Address:
Huh

Private View Key:
Huh

You can verify that you have paid by using http://xmr.llcoins.net/checktx.html

For example (using the link above), here is mine:

1. Transaction hash: Huh

2. Private key (view key): Huh

3. Recipients public address: Huh

...
Quote
Results:
This address owns output        0 with pubkey: Huh for amount: Huh
This address doesn't own output 1 with pubkey: Huh for amount: Huh

Total received: Huh

Once, you have sent XMR to the "Monero Madness" wallet, post your transaction hash here and I will update you to the list as well as send you a PM with your personal link to the pool website where you can make your picks.

PLEASE NOTE: The brackets are not out as of right now, this is primarily to get the word out as early as possible and get everyone interested/signed up and ready to make their picks.  Brackets don't come out until March 11th.

This is a WINNER TAKE ALL event.  Whoever wins the most "points" at the end of the tournament wins.  It works like this:

Round of 64 = 1 point per game
Round of 32 = 2 points per game
Sweet Sixteen = 4 points per game
Elite Eight = 8 points per game
Final Four = 16 points per game
Championship = 32 points

Thanks everyone and good luck!
