Actually 2.5 btc is pretty much spot on. By comparison 3 erupter blades produce ~33 gh/s total and cost ~3 BTC
However with so many next generation asic's hitting the market people are looking for newer, cheaper technologies to spend $ on.
Ebay would certainly increase exposure for the miners and probably the way to go if he isn't willing to budge on the price.
