Are the devs ever going to add a "cancel and resend with a higher fee" button? Cause that would be so cool Smiley

Awwww great.  Now we're way off topic.  Lock the thread!!
Nevermind, I forgot I can "unwatch".

"cancel and resend with a higher fee" wouldn't be cool for those accepting payments but maybe cool for those scamming merchants.

ah I understand now,

I was just using the auto slider in the bitcoin-core, so I should be using a custom fee as per the chart you linked, gotchaaa

thanks m8

as I said the number of unconfirmed transactions are high right now and is increasing. the recomended fee will also increase. your 25 satoshi per byte fee is actually half of the current standard fee which is 50 satoshi per byte. the recommended fee will most likely change later so see this site before you send a tx next time.

We cant predict how long it will take ,wanna fast confirmation pay a high fee and those may and should happen, besides those means that bitcoins transactions keep growing being much more then before.

great it's confirmed - lock the thread and call it a day.

quickly!

poeple might realize there's somthing wrong.

with what? your spelling or your sig or..?  Tongue
edit: huh. you have that sig since january. didn't notice it while I was lurking in the speculation board.

in all seriousness, OP asked some more question and it's better to try to avoid another long confirmation time like this. but looks like OP called it a day (forgot to lock the topic though).

edit2:
ooh. I think I know what's wrong.

thanks for the reply,

yeah it was strange it took so long to confirm especially as i included a really high fee. second highest fee to be exact.

is there stress testing going on the bitcoin network atm?

afaik there's no stress test. but there are more unconfirmed tx than usual. to avoid long confirmation time in the future, always check this site for the current recommended fee per byte.

and no you won't need to wait another 3 hours unless the next block takes 3 hours to mine.

jaysus talk of the devil haha, i see it confirm there,

but how has it taken so long, when i sent it with the slider set to fast confirm, can anyone explain that ?
Don't know why it took your transaction so long to confirm, but I just had one that took about 20 hours to confirm--but I selected the Jewish Miner's Fee option on Mycelium and I will never do that again.  Way, way too slow.  This happened a few months back when the stress testing was going on.  Sometimes it just takes a while.

For reference your bitcoin is never lost when it fails to confirm. In some cases you may need to cancel and resend, which is a hassle, but they are safe as long as you have the private key. (you and only you).

already confirmed just now.  Grin
oh there's another question. that 0.00026 is per kilo byte. your tx is only 223 byte in size and that's around 20% of 1kb. so 26000*0.2 = 5200 satoshi

Hi guys,,

Just wondering can someone help me here,

I send 0.8 btc nearly 3 hours ago, *confirmed now*

I wanted this to go through fast, so i manually selected the slider in bitcoin-core to the second fastest confirm fee 0.00026.

However I have just noticed it was sent with a fee of 0.00005497 instead,

I do not understand how this happened as I put the fee slider up to 0.00026 ?

is my bitcoin lost ?

thanks
