Your not being limited by the transformer here, your limit is your 400amp 240volt panel. at 80% (I wouldn't recommend going much above 80% though) you can have roughly 46 s9's

fun fact those transformers are under rated and over built. Ask the utility company, on a 2500ka unit they told us they were ok with loading it to 120%

*EDIT* Didn't see this was 3 phase! You are correct on the 95 machines you should be ok hooking those up!

Did you think about running the Canaan Moose with that kind of set up? Should be more efficient per TH/s than antminer. Maybe even their single 841's as well compared the 13.5 th/s antminer that's available unless you already purchased your hardware.

Watts / volts x 1.732

that's how you get amperage draw if you place a single miner across each phase

1400w / 240 x 1.732 = 10.1 amps

400 / 10.1 = 39.6

39 (round down) x 3 = 117 miners

I searched through the forum and below is my understanding

150kVA, assuming pf =1, and 80% for continuous load = 120kW

120kW/1400W = 85 miners

I have seen people done it the other way around

150kVA is connected to 400A 240V 3 phase panel.

400A * 240V * 1.732 = 166,272 watt

with 80% for continuous load = 133kW

133kW / 1400W = 95 miners

At 100% power factor 150 kva  = 150 kw

150 kw / 1.4 kw = 107 miners with no safety margin.

I do not know if you can run up to the nameplate capacity of a transformer.

Hi there,

I got a 3-phase 150kva step-down transformer from 600V to 240V. I am supplying the input of the transformer with 600V 200A 3-phase, and the output of the transformer is 3-phase 240V. This is going into my 240V 400A disconnect, and then into my 240V 400A power distribution panel.  How many S9 Antminers (1400W) can I run this 150kva transformer?

I calculated 61 units. Can some help me confirm my calculations?

S9's draw more like 1600W when hashing depending on the environmental temp.

1600W / 240v = 6.666 amps per unit
400A / 6.666 = 60 units but with no headroom

If it were me I'd not go above 55 or so units to give a 10% margin and also make sure they can't all start at the same time.
