I wonder what banks etc. will do with their big-endian big iron if they want to participate in the economy.

They will upgrade to PCs! grin

Or write their own clients. They can afford it after all...

Afaik we just need to rewrite assembler parts and it will work on ppc.

This has already been discussed a number of times. The little-endian assumption is deep in the code and protocol. It is a pretty frustrating assumption for something that strives to became a global standard, but it is how things are right now. Moreover, the sha-256 algorithm is basically big-endian, and it would not need all those byte swaps on PPC. I wonder what banks etc. will do with their big-endian big iron if they want to participate in the economy.

Chief Scientist
I'm halfway through creating releases-- I had a 0.3.20 candidate Windows release that didn't pass sanity testing (rendering issues that it looks like are fixed with a wxWidgets upgrade).

If all goes well, 0.3.20 for linux and pc will be up and available tomorrow, 0.3.20 for the mac "real soon now".

If not...  it will take longer.

Yeah, it is difficult to go without a leader.

There are probably very few people with access to Sourceforge account. So this is not a matter of having no leader.
The person who has access should take care of it or comission it to somebody else.

Yeah, it is difficult to go without a leader.

I think that it is an experiment to see if we can manage on our own or not yet. >_<

And it is for Linux only. Undecided

Well not that i mind it as a Linux user, but still - this creates unnecessary mess.

Heyy,

I just wandered into the sourceforge site, and it seems there is tarball for 3.20 avaiable while there is only 3.19 on the main site ?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/

So which version should I call the newest stable version - the bitcoin.org one or SF one ?
