well , USDT is pretending to be some coin playing the game as the coin that is guaranteed to remain in the same as 1 USD banknote , but it was proven several times that it's not like that , hacked several times and realized that there is no support for 1 USD guarantee.
While there is a coin which makes Exchanges to guarantee the value of 50 CHF before they list the coin , it's real Elysium ELSM ( www.e-elysium.com ) and in the blockchain it's the only coin which can't be dumped as it's called PREEMPTIVE CONSENSUS VALUE COIN.
MFFV ( minimum fixed face value ).
after this coin gets listed on exchange July 2018 everyone will realize what coin is ELSM.
There is also a donation in plan for supporting children with Down Syndrome , so the exchange will give 0.5 ELSM for every 2 ELSM coins they sell.
USDT is very dirty coin all fake , no support for 1 USD
as well as very pure coin !? the hacker created from thin air 265 milion coins and took 265 million USD for less then 1 hour , not even coin

guys, I found it.

The bold lettering ACCOUNT BALANCE on the Wallet page does not show any value.  However, on the same Wallet page,  if you scroll way down through the Currency Names, and get to Tether, the full value is indicated.
Tether did not move to the top of the coin list, as other purchases do, so that you can see your coin holdings, on the first wallet page.

Thank you for all your help.
have you sold  all of your USDT ? how much big is your loss with this error? so glad you found out where its all hidden

Are you sure your order has been filled? It seems not so that may be the reason. What do you see on the "Wallet" page ?
Check the "orders" page and see, if it's not complete you can click a button X to cancel and get the BTC back

I would contact their customer support directly if I were you rather than post here. they'll likely be able to help.

He did it already if you read his first post

I checked Tether page and the only indication I see is under My Order History.  It records the details of sale and the $ amount under Cost/Proceeds.  No indication on how to access the proceeds in order  to move or make another purchase.

Bittrex Help has not yet replied.

Thank you both for your thoughts and help.

Follow your heart.
The value of the account will be gone once you have sold it for tether as far as I know. But your money is still there.

If you go to TETHER on Bittrex (https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=USDT-BTC). You will probably see your tether, still.

I sold BTC for USDT (thinking it was USD) on Bittrex.  The sale went through and is recorded but there is no indication of proceeds in the account.  The value of the account is missing about $35,000. Contacted Bittrex HELP, but so far no response.  I would be grateful if any one could shed some light on this awful puzzle. I made a stupid mistake and cannot afford to loose this nestegg.  Thank you for your help.
