As you may have seen on our GitHub page, you can now install our project via Pip, and then run it with the command "3dwallet"

We are in the process of making the project available on PyPi (installable via pip3).

However, we need a developer who's done this before to answer two quick questions either in this thread, or over on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Python/comments/3bob8w/configuring_for_use_with_pypi/.  See question in the previous Reddit link.  Thank you for anyone who has the time to help us out!

The corners are now rounded by default, but can be disabled by the -dc flag.

After printing a few tests, we saw that the results look best with the small rounded corners (the rounding is very subtle though, approximately that of a credit card's).

We are in the process of making a 2-color ABS timelapse print (with photos), so stay tuned to see the fabulous outcome of this project!

Maybe some pictures would help or a timelapse video on the process those are hot now in days, it would eventually show everyone a finish product getting more exposure, we know people love to watch things being created.

We're working on getting some of those resources up, maybe 24 to 48 hours until all that kind of stuff is up!  Thanks for the suggestions though, we hadn't thought of the timelapse.

We have changed the output sizes of the QR codes and text.  It is now bigger so that it prints more easily, and is far more readable.

People have asked if they are supposed to print the wallet in two colors, or how they're supposed to see the different parts.  We suggest that you print it all in a light color, and then color the QR with a Sharpie at the end.  An alternative is to print the first half in one color, and then pause the print and change the extruder color for the raised/lowered part.

We are in the process of printing some sample wallets for display.  Stay tuned, and check the repo for pictures in the README.md file.

When you think of paper's durability, what comes to mind?  Dogs eating homework made of it, paper dying in floods, getting crumbled, getting torn, getting worn - all horrible things that don't happen to plastic!

Until this point, there has been no easy way to generate a bitcoin (or other cryptocurrency) wallet that can be 3D printed (or milled with a CNC machine).

One week ago, we set out to fix this problem.  What we came up with can be viewed here: https://github.com/btcspry/3d-wallet-generator

Keep in mind, it is still a work in progress.  We are looking for developers to help critique our code in any way they wish.  We hope to have an awesome, easy-to-use product that bitcoin-savy people can use to generate their own wallets.

Update: We're now available on the PyPi package index, and can easily be installed by "pip".  See the install instructions in our readme in the GitHub repository!  Nearly anyone can now generate their own 3D-printable bitcoin wallets!
