I print these quite often - 50 or so a month give or take - do not use PLA - use PETG or ABS/ASA

honestly, if PLA+ cant handle the heat for most machines they should be shutting down for safety just before PLA+ starts to go soft. the new machines run hotter so a better material could be needed. which is why I've invested in so upgrades to be able to print using the Nylon infuse Carbon Fiber. ePA-CF/NylonX 155c/311f, PLA+ is 62c/144F.

that is a better option than PLA or even PLA+ though PETG would work fine. I have watched PLA+ melt from a simply blow dryer. Printing in Carbon Fiber is nice but used to print vent shrouds may make them a bit more expensive then needed when PETG will solve the problem as well as ABS or ASA filament.

Hi

We are 3D Print Shop 4 U. https://3dps4u.com

we design and print ducting that is designed to mount onto an ASIC miner to help you control the hot air and reduce the noise some.

We have provided ducting on eBay now since Jan 2018 and have a 98.7% positive feedback rating.

We have just expanded into our own website off eBay, but still operate on eBay.

We normally ship within 24hrs for smaller orders, please allow extra time for a larger order.

We have several designs for current ASIC miners including the Antminer S19 Pro or Goldshell KD5 etc, we also carry 120mm and 140mm Ducting.

We have just finished playing with a new material which is Nylon infused with Carbon Fiber. Which can withstand heat up to 155C/311F. We currently have very limited supply of this material and it is expensive compared to PLA +/PLA Pro. but it can withstand much higher air temps. as systems and technologies improve.

We can design custom ducting for specific machines if we don’t have a design currently for a miner. All it normally takes is one quick measurement.

Hey!

I like your idea with the 3D printed ducting, but if the air is hot enough, wont the PLA filament warp and melt slightly due to hot air?

I use PLA Pro/PLA+ which has a higher heat threshold than standard PLA. which I have done since Jan 2018.

My eBay feedback is 98.7% with almost 500 reviews with this material.

For the older equipment PLA+ is capable of handling the temps. but the newer ones are starting to run hotter than PLA+ ABS or any other material out there.

which is why I am the first to offer Nylon infused carbon fiber which can withstand temps up to 155C/311F. but its at a premium.
