Metal parts can be printed, but it's compared to the old methodes of creating motorcycle parts, it's still too expensive.

Metal parts can be printed, but it's compared to the old methodes of creating motorcycle parts, it's still too expensive.
I like to read up on 3D printing and such and I have know about guns being printed. I must say it's very interesting.
Real gun needs high-quality steel that is heat treated. I think it's OK to 3D print a spoon. Nothing major happens when it breaks, just print another one. But when gun breaks there is high risk of injury to shooter and enemy will have a free frag. 3D printing does not have the same quality result as a real firearm.
Until I can't print out real gold or diamonds, I won't be impressed. 
How long till we're 3d printing motorcycles?
I will not be happy until I can print a working blaster. Preferably the Imperial BlasTech E-11 Blaster.

This is so off topic, but are any of you guys involved in 3D Printing at all? I ask because most of you are very tech savvy. I just got a makerbot Replicator last week, and am loving it. What do you guys think the future holds for 3D Printing. On a separate note, this metal gun was just 3d Printed yesterday.
