If you have 3k I suggest to invest that in ethereum and also waves and for sure after few months you can earn a lot of profit because the price will increase more.

I have 3k left to spend on altcoins.
Was thinking of dividing it into siacoin (40%), antshares (40%) and bytecoin (20%), mainly for long term investment.

Any others that are currently interesting? NoLimitCoin?

Some other coins I have:
LTC
Digibyte
Stratis
MyriadCoin
ReddCoin

You have a good choice of coins but if you want to buy more altcoins you can choose XEM, XVG, ETH, WAVES. But make sure you do your research first before buying what people are suggesting you it is still better to know the coins you are holding.

digibyte should have  MK of around $20-30M. It really over valued. Id sell and invest in something that hasnt had attention yet like Blocknet, Bitbay, Edgeless etc etc

Thank you to everyone who posted their opinion on my portfolio!  Smiley

To give some additional info to my original portfolio:
LTC 30% (125 coins) - bought each at 25$-30$, hoping to hold onto these until they reach 100$.
Digibyte 20% (81k coins) - invested in this one because I like the concept and hope this will get picked up in a few months/1-2 years. Long term investment.
Stratis 20% (300 coins) - bought most of these when the price was rising, dumb move, but learned from that mistake. Will continue to hold these until they rise again.
MyriadCoin 10% (400k coins) - one of the first I bought, really cheap. Doesn't look to go anywhere really. Still a little bit of profit. Long term.
ReddCoin 15% (700k coins and just started staking) - Bought all of these a few days ago when the dropped huge. Like this idea, a social media currency. News is coming soon so hopefully this will rise too. Long term.
Siacoin 10% (50k coins) - Heard very much about this coin, that it is one of THE coins to invest in. We'll see how it goes.
total overal: ~11-12k.

Willing to spend another 3k. So what I'm looking at is maybe a few more long term investments.
Got my eye on some of the coins you guys have suggested - will do some research first and then decide.
But I might drop another 1k in Siacoin. Antshares is looking interesting too, might drop 1k in it.

I understand it is up to me to decide what to buy and not. Some might say I need to do my own research but it always helps to get someone else's opinion ofcourse.
Appreciate everyone's posts so far.  Wink
WTH, don't you need 200k siacoin to even be able to transfer them into you wallet?

Why did you stop at just buying 50k? Roll Eyes

I'd take a good look at what people are recommending the most, see what's consistently coming up in this thread, and go with that. You'll get the market sentiment right there without too much bias and dumpers.

I'd include Digibyte anyways. It's at a great point to buy right now  Smiley

If you can wait, ETH is going through a major correction and you'll be able to get some of it at a very good price soon! I wrote this article today (http://populicapital.com/website-launch-and-ethereum-correction/)and layered a bubble chart over the ETH/USD to put things into perspective. ETH is an amazing project and it's price will be multiple times higher than it is now so if you're looking to the long term, it is safe to buy ETH now. But if you really want a good return from ETH, just wait for things to clear up.

Your thoughts are indicating extreme risk there. I would expect durable coins such as etc, waves, eth and bitcoin but all of them are very risky ones. This is not my style to spend 3k on these type of coins.

Try to buy this altcoins. Ethereum, monero , waves , dash , cloak coin and zcash and for sure after few months of holding of this coin you can earn a lot of profit. Try to make a lot of resesrch first so you can know if the coin have potential to increase or not and so you can see the list of potential coin. Be careful by buying altcoin . I think we have also many other altcoin have potential you choose .

If you want to invest, you should learn as much as you can before investing. Too much people not knowing (myself included) not really knowing in what they invest but giving advice because they made some bucks.
Not bad to ask for suggestions but you should try to learn about what you invest in, and make your own opinion.

Do whatever you think is best to do.
If you ask in what coin to invest, you will get various answers and it might confuse you.
Everyone has different opinion on different coins and investment. Some will say 3K is too much to invest it in only 3 coins, and some will say it is too low amount for 3 coins.

If you are interested in the long term you should consider Waves, Stratis and my personal bet is on Verge.
I suggest you to wait a bit, when the BTC problem is solved will be a great moment to join alt-markets.

if i were you i would have probably removed RDD from my list (unless you are staking it) and put it all in LTC, the others lookg good enough to keep.

also in the following days i would make sure to buy ETH since it is having a huge dump and in cases like this there is always a little come back as soon as the bottom is reached. and while this is a high risk strategy but a quick and decent amount of profit is guaranteed. just make sure to sell after your bought. don't buy and hold in times like this when prices are dropping hard.

If I were to choose, I'd either choose DIGIBYTE or NEM. Both have great potential and have great projects and also they are not just a pump and dump coin just like those other coins. It's my opinion though based on what I have observed but you can freely choose other coins whichever you think are best.

I'd suggest picking 2-3 coins you strongly believe in. Do proper research and pick solid projects with good and active developers and development, solid whitepapers, a roadmap that is actually plausible and respected and last but not least get an impression of the community behind the project. Do this and hold 3-6 months.

I would also tell you not to "diversify" because it is what retards do and in the long run won't do you any good and has no statistical advantages if you want to have good investments. It is what every clueless idiot tells you who doesn't want to do proper research. "Diversify, diversify". One thing is for sure, you have low risk, but also not really anything to gain from if you "diversify" into many shitcoins without a plan and you will not get any real results because the crap evens out the possible good choices you would make. Its more gambling than anything else and can't be called investment. If you're unable to distinguish between solid and shitty projects, you shouldn't invest at all. You can go to the casnio then. To be successful, do this: Research, research, research. Make up your mind, pick good projects, have a mid/long term plan in mind and stick to it. Most importantly: have patience. Any other behaviour will make you fodder for the whales.

Good selection! I recommend you to consider SNGLS, ICN (appreciate quite a bit, but wait for correction). CFI, Waves, VSL. Wait for ANS to correct, although it does have a good chance to run up again as the team will release some news very soon. I made some good profit from ANS, I had some bought during their ICO.

I am not that into Digibyte, NoLimitCoin and MyriadCoin. Hope everything works out fine for you!

Nem is at a good place to buy at the moment, the value has been quite consistent for some time now, which may be indicating that the big spikes are maybe nearer now. Also Ripple may be a good option for a relatively small time investment.

I think the answer to this question would depend heavily on how much your other investments are total. If your other investments are big, and $3,000 is relatively small, then I would suggest gambling a bit on smaller coins. If not, your current portfolio of 5 coins is already pretty diverse so maybe spread it around the 5 of them.

If you could take an advice from someone, research more of the suggestions. I'd would be better to start with the ones that existed with good future and higher yield too. WAVES is my best suggestion - you could never go wrong when you want a long term investment.

Nice portfolio but investing 3000$ in just three new coins is too risky for me. Litecoin is currently doing well and new ICO like suncontact and creamcoin are also doing well and I will advise you to share your portfolio for them also.
