So, while OP doesn't have 593 BTC to claim... there is 593 "unspent" DOGE... and possibly more Wink
That makes it $9 instead of $9 million.
Yes, it may only be $9, but at least it will only cost $0.01c to transfer... instead of $9,000  Grin Cheesy Tongue Wink Roll Eyes

Most of the time I read about problems like this, it turns out to be an altcoin-wallet which is loaded into Bitcoin Core.
@UnintelligibleBraille: any chance this was an altcoin-wallet?
I concur... the vast majority of these "I found an old wallet.dat with a XXXXXX BTC transaction, but it says unconfirmed" type threads generally turn out to be an altcoin wallet being loaded into Bitcoin Core.

Indeed, in this particular case, it looks like the OPs wallet was a Dogecoin Core wallet.dat, and the transaction is actually a DOGE Coin transaction: https://live.blockcypher.com/doge/tx/c66189403a951eeea37f59b875947ff77a220b560821d5cc31bee1801255262a/

no, your transaction was not valid to begin with. it was spending a transaction with currently does not exist which means that transaction was rejected or forgotten so your transaction became invalid.

if this was really 4 years ago, then the only possibility i can think of is that the first transaction had some issue like being non-standard so it didn't confirm.

Just out of curiosity, was the inbound transaction <600 BTC> send from someone else or did you transfer coins from one of your own Bitcoin addresses to another Bitcoin address that you own? The tx does not look valid at all, so I doubt that the sender will send the BTC again, after all of these years.

It is roughly $9 484 000 worth right now at a price of $15k/bitcoin. ^phew^

Can it be that the transaction was simply rejected + forgotten, voiding it and its related ID's? Speaking of bad luck.

as you can see it has never received anything.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion.

I am certain I have not gotten the wallet from a third party, nor have I edited anything in it. The wallet is not encrypted, I have extracted the private key and imported it into Electrum in my trials to try to get this to work (with no luck).
Electrum shows the history as being empty, with no currency in the address.

Can it be that the transaction was simply rejected + forgotten, voiding it and its related ID's? Speaking of bad luck.

Are you sure this is your wallet.

Looks like a hex edited wallet to show the balance but is actually false.
Tx ID is not known in the network.

I know of a scam where someone sold wallet.dat where he claimed to have lost the pass for. So the buyer could try and crack the pass for big reward.
But it was an edited wallet without any balance.

I am definitely going to do that, would that really be it?!
I have checked my address online and it also shows 0 BTC balance. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but isn't this kind of stuff decentralised and thus not dependent on one wallet syncing?

Hello all,

With all the Bitcoin news going around these days I decided to check my pc for 'that old wallet' I was sure to have laying around somewhere from fooling around with mining BTC a few years ago. Lo and behold I found it, and it has caused me a big headache in trying to figure out what's going on here...

When opening the wallet.dat file I found a ~600BTC (inbound?) unconfirmed transaction to (my address? https://blockchain.info/address/13TprxCKbWe2i1QrmtEHeRYafbjicL2ivG) which has apparently been that way since 2014.

Can anyone please tell me what this means, if there is any way I can get to these bitcoins, and how I am supposed to go about doing this?

The transaction has the following properties:

Trying to resubmit the hex to the magic bitcoin pool of processing things by putting it in here https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/pushtx/ it comes back with the following:
