I do some research
On box is Air Waybill No: 871 5050 8076
http://www.track-shipments.com/track-trace.aspx?pref=AWB&awbno=87150508076]
From PVG (Shanghai Pudong International Airport) to HKG (Hong Kong)
Total 135 pieces.
If on each box QTY 7832 that is 135*7832= 1.057.320 chips.

Good work. The original pictures from this thread provide some EXIF data:

Quote

Pictures were shot between 2013-07-09 18:09:55 - 19:09:25 with a Samsung GT-I9008 and Canon EOS 350D, and modified with ACD Systems Digital Imaging from 2013-07-09 22:07:04 - 22:58:16. I guess the pictures were taken during unpacking. Those 135 parcels were flown from Shanghai to Hong Kong on 2013-06-25 and received by UNI GLORY INTL LOGISTICS. There are two weeks missing, either for further transportation or redistribution.

He received most likely less than 374.400 chips in the last days or possibly hours. The bigger boxes are clearely tagged with "n/24" and thus 24 * 6 * 260 * 10 = 374.400, but on the upper left box is a label with "QTY: 7.834" which is far less than 15.600 per box. One box below: "QTY: 7.815". P/N is maybe "CME3256".

Edit: P/N CME3256 confirmed by barcode.

Ok so BTCMan/BTCGarden seems like a really nasty vindictive piece of work.

It's a shame no one posted his rant as he publicly aired his views on each competitor. I'll have to dig that up.

It's laughable that he states "BTW: We are not to judge others ASIC team, each team has its own technology roadmap and business models, and nothing more."

As judging each team is exactly what he did, calling them out name by name from BFL to KnC and slating them and their culture showing a very xenophobic, insecure character. I wonder why he's now backtracking?? Regret, or doesn't want to burn bridges, either way he is by far and away the least pleasant character I've seen promise anything so far.  I wouldn't necessarily blame Bitsyncom over the split. This guy appears very callous and greedy.

Any partner/investor should approach with extreme caution as location wise contracts would mean squat, and he's just proven he cannot be relied upon to either act with integrity or trust.

Well, I had to come back for this.  An interesting end to the day.

At #33: "I set the pumpkin mining machine? Relationship engage in anti, pumpkin set up my chips"
At #35: "110nm chip has an agreement first, and only intended for Avalon / squash team."

Squash and pumpkin are close to synonyms, so I wonder if this means what I think it might mean...

Later.
pumpkin means "ngzhang": https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/ngzhang-38132
squash is the same.

As a chinese,I understand every word of the man posted.
Maybe the truth is...
The man is the designer & supplier of avalon. The price negotiation between avalon $ him was crashed. So he delayed all chips of avalon's orders. And he posted this info to give a heavy pressure to avalon. Meanwhile he is looking for  new customers or partners or he wants to run the business by himself.

It's just my supposition.

The way Yifu handles "business" i would not be surprised in the least.

40nm chip is no similar agreement, you can open the supply.

40nm chips will eventually be a formal, public order channels.
All chips will be for me to give orders TSMC manufacturing orders in Fujitsu package, and then commissioned express delivery.
Chip orders is the smallest unit 2600, collected enough 2600 miners need their own group.
2600 limits the reason is very simple, because Fujitsu is a 2600 chip packaging box (260 * 10).

40nm is being offered by BTCman/Garden as a proposed future offering.

This is the same guy that publicly slated every competitor on his forum, before ranting about Western/European work ethic.

Now I think he appears to be taking a swipe at Avalon potentially highlighting the bulk chips have been ready for a while...

You guys should really take a look at those photos.

Now a new team claims that they will be designing 40 nm ASIC chips. They even claim that Yifu outsourced the design of Avalon to them, with those photos:

http://www.btcman.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=4621&extra=page%3D1&page=4

So are these millions of chips manufactured 40nm node?
According to post #9:
"These are just the same pics as the current avalons, check the serial nums, I see no difference..:

BUT: If the airbill trace above is correct, then these photos were taken in the last two weeks.

Whether these chips are bound for machines yet to be assembled, or bound for chip sales, I can't believe YiFu can be happy about this information having become public.

hi

i think those are the chips wich have been ordered in early may/june 2013

so what s seems unusual here?
40nm instead 110 maybe Tongue
But despite my deep wish, it's hard for me to believe in such a scenario.

On the other hand, if the chips sales aren't due to start until September as someone said, what the hell are they doing with a million chips (or 300,000, but whatever the right math is: a buttload of chips) in Shenzen or at least at HKG?

Whoever said september was just pulling numbers out of thin air.  The first chip batches were sold at the end of April.  Avalon specified a lead time of 9-10 weeks, which works out to the end of last month.

Also- if you look at Avalon's BTC address for chip orders, there's approx. 75,000 BTC there.  This works out to around 97 orders of 10,000 chips, or just short of a million chips.  So these pictures may very well be almost ALL of the orders of avalon chips so far.

I meant small box contains 2600 chips. So big box has 6 small boxes. And 135 big boxes. So I guess total chips <= 2600 * 6 * 135 = 2,106,000

But there are only 24 cases, look at the cases you can see the x/24 on them in marker and on the stickers.

The picture shows 24 pieces sticker, but the tracking number claims 135 pieces though Smiley.

Shrink  from 110nm to 40nm ?  (Both are half nodes)
Its possible, but  more interesting question is destination this chip.  For new Avalon from batch 4 and next or some big customer ?

On box is Air Waybill No: 871 5050 8076
http://www.track-shipments.com/track-trace.aspx?pref=AWB&awbno=87150508076]
From PVG (Shanghai Pudong International Airport) to HKG (Hong Kong)
Total 135 pieces.
If on each box QTY 7832 that is 135*7832= 1.057.320 chips.

That's 135 boxes inside those 24 cases.  Since each case can hold up to 6 boxes, 6 times 24 cases is 144 boxes so some of those cases are not full cases.  So if each box can hold up to 2600 chips that means there are 351,000 chips on that skid.

There are more than million chips :O.  Each box holds 6 x 2600 = 15600 chips Smiley

And 15600 times 24 cases is................. 374,400 but since the tracking says 135 boxes I am willing to bet there are some cases with less than 6.

This thread is even more murky than the one yesterday, where this btcman situation first resurfaced.

Combining the translations there with these photos of Avalon chips, (which could be as old as Batch 1, right?) I'm going to put this back in the FUD/BS category again.

So does this mean Avalon's bulk chip orders are good to go?

I would say not, note the shipping labels on the large boxes, they say HongKong, so likely these have been shipped from Taiwan to HongKong and onto Shenzhen to be made into AVALON units. These are typical of the type of photos that a Quality Control Inspector from AVALON would take at TSMC during Final inspection Ex-Works or possibly by Chinese Customs and Excise on arrival in China. I would take a stab at the former. Shame there are no dates to be seen on the packaging.
