I don't expect jumping to $500 on no news. I think that the strong resistance that is just ahead of us, at $410-415 should end this rise.
For now, there is nothing to sustain it further. Daytraders should soon cash out on their gains and put back their buy orders below $380.
Rinse and repeat.

It will be very difficult to maintain this rise on absolutely no news. The resistance zone I mentioned in my earlier posts, just above $400 has stopped us already couple of times. It won't give up that easily.

It ain't a resistance dude, it's still the support line S2, S1 is at $420 and the break even seems to me at $450...

I agree with most of people here, 20 dollars is not a big rise, now is 388 at coindesk. So in few days we can see price rise even aboce 400 $. We will see what will sony do next month and about steam will they accept bitcoin as I saw somewhere.

I too feel the same as today it almost reached $400 (just a few dollars less). I bought bitcoins when it was $460 and I just want the price to rise over the amount and I'll then sell and buy more bitcoins. we are currently stuck in the trading range $350-410 for a (in Bitcoin terms) longer while. For now, I don't see any fundamental developments to push the price in one or the other direction. Therefore, it is possible to go to $400, as this is still within the range we are bounded, and such a $20 move wouldn't need much effort. Sure, it is possible.

In my opinion 400$ will be reached soon but only 4 days? I would give a bit more of time, could be two weeks to reach the 400$. If the price goes to $400 for very short period, it is possible. It would be better for the price to stay above it for longer.

yeah, that's why i prefer the price to take a little bit longer to reach the $400 level instead of a peak that breaks through that level within a very short time. building up serious buy support takes time, that's why slow growth is the best possible growth.

I think it will reach 400 again soon, maybe indeed before 16/2. Seems that bitcoin is trying to itch back up for a while now.

Thje problem is potentially that ETH is sucking up a lot of volume and traders drawing form the attention that bitcoin should be getting. Also the profit from those coins may be sold soon (although I still think most trading is done between their own hands).

I think we'll at least test 400, whether we push through it or not is to be seen. China is already $20 above the Bitstamp price so it's only a matter of time before we catch up. IMO we'll either hover around the 395 area for a little bit or surge through 400 to top out somewhere around 420.
