All you can do is.. live and learn. Those BTC are G O N E. Next time, if it's valuable and you don't use it for a while - whether is bitcoin or altcoin - move it to a cold storage or paper wallet.
Quite an expensive lesson....  Undecided

You can try with the authorities, but.. do you believe that they can handle the theft of non-fiat over internet and they actually do give a s**t?

probably not much chance of getting your btc back, however next time, I would advice you to buy something like a trezor, if you have more than 1 btc.

As far as getting the BTC back you are likely not to get them back.

Simply I was dumb enough to get a keylogger on my pc, I used bitcoin core, and someone took all my BTC and sent it to a new address and it has just been sitting there for about a week now sense it was stolen.

Sense I am past grieving I have dug around on my pc for info on what happened. So far I found the information below, does anyone know if i can use this information to my advantage?

I have config and executable files, and know what keylogger software was used.
I know the email address used
I know the password to said email address
I have logged into the email account but no emails are in it that I can tell, its in Russian Huh and website translators do not translate a thing on the site.
And of course I know the address all my coins are sitting in right now.

Any assistance on the return of these coins of course would be rewarded, heavily.

As a side note, I live in the USA and am a homeowner with homeowners insurance, anyone know if I could claim this as any type of theft with my insurance company, would like some opinions on this before I contact my insurance company, not sure If i have to make some sort of police report first or anything.
