nahh guys needed the encourage the dude... would have been fun to see his video on youtube trying to FORCE literally 12v aux cpu cable in a different  shaped 6-8 pin pcie  connector... without even wondering why the wiring scheme is all different.. and then... PUFFFF.... AHH you destroyed my weekend.....

Hey guys,

Is it safe/possible to put 4+4Pin CPU branch into 8Pin PCIe GPU?

It is not possible to directly use a PCIe cable that was included with your PSU but if you are handy with using a soldering iron or making custom pin crimpings, you can utilize this often unused connector on your PSU. Just be aware that the 4+4pin CPU connector has 4 +12V wires and 4 grounds, whereas the PCIe 8-pin has only 3 +12V and 5 grounds (one is used as a sense pin).

There are many pin-out diagrams on the Internet of the two connectors and how the wires are terminated, even the link bathrobehero posted has a good diagram with an overview of the differences. Always double-check with a volt meter before plugging any modified cables into your equipment to be sure you got the wiring right and you should be fine.

Thanks for the answer. I'll pass on trying my luck with modding cables and go with ordering "super cheap" custom made cables.

no they are made for cpu for a reason, thye have different ground and the wire are put in a different way, you woudl melt the cable if you do this, just buy additional cables, or use molex

Don't try it unless you like melted plastic, scorched silicone and possibly worse outcomes then mere ruined hardware..... Use the proper PSU with the cables you need or pay an expert to make custom cables for you.
