Thanks for the update.  What was your motivation to move to pay-per-share?

It is fairer to the people who stick with us as well as more consistent for people that don't want to stick around long.

I feel like all around our RSMPPS system is better.

Ok guys please relax.

I was moving to a new apartment the last few days so I was not able to answer your questions.

There were some issues with the stats display that were showing people having higher earnings than they really had.

You can verify your earnings very simply.

We now operate on a system very similar to Pay Per Share. That means you get paid the same amount for each share. You can find that amount by doing this:

(Number of shares) divided by (current difficulty) multiplied by (50 coins per block) = your earnings.

If you did work on a recent block and did not receive a payout it is most likely because you have not hit the default 1 BTC threshhold for payouts.

You can change that by simply adding your workers to your account on the site. You can also request a payout manually by hitting "PAY ME" after you log in.

If you have any serious(or even small) problems you can always email me. My email is [email protected]

I have fixed the problems of everyone who has emailed me.

Rest assured if there has been any problem that has caused you to lose any amount of your balance for work that you did I will reimburse you personally.

Remember that I also mine on this pool with my workers and this pool is a free service that is supported by donations.

I'm done mining here.  I submitted something like 15000 shares according to my miners and nothing has shown up in my account. gonna try rfcpool for a bit and see how that works out.

Same problem here.   I see the proper amounts at the bottom of the screen but my balances are all zero.

I've asked on the site chat a few times with no response.

What's going on?    Hope it wasn't a mistake mining here.

Can you please address what is going on with payouts form solved blocks?

Now I'm displaying the following:

Date       Round Time     Shares     Block #     Confirmed(#)     Solved By     Your Earnings
25 Aug 2011 7 42 UTC   673h 9m   1,795,770   142498   Yes (203)   1NgBrc1Ci5xi2kseykFc6SRiq7BEqscnfj   ~0.27368875 BTC

Why the change from ~0.44666868 BTC to ~0.27368875 BTC? after solved and confirmed?

Are you keeping payouts for yourself or what?

I still have:

Unconfirmed Earnings: 0.00000000 BTC
Confirmed Earnings: 0.00000000 BTC
Paid Out: 0 BTC
Balance: 0 BTC

Still no payout for the block to:

Hi, I'm trying to understand the payout mechanism. I have the following information in block stats:

Date                   Round Time     Shares     Block #     Confirmed(#)     Solved By                                      Your Earnings
25 Aug 2011 7 42 UTC   673h 9m   1,795,770   142498   Yes (126)   1NgBrc1Ci5xi2kseykFc6SRiq7BEqscnfj   ~0.44666868 BTC

But I have this information in My Account:

Unconfirmed Earnings: 0.00000000 BTC
Confirmed Earnings: 0.00000000 BTC
Paid Out: 0 BTC
Balance: 0 BTC

Since the block is confirmed, shouldn't my earnings be confirmed or paid out?

Here is the address with payouts from prior to the server switch:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/1BXiypgwg8kFUN4aRbeVVK7YnLF15yMnjf

Do I just need to wait longer?

I didn't get around to adding it to the site but if you have forgotten it just send an email to [email protected] and I'll take care of it for you.

I'll add it into the new backend when I get a chance

Also, you should set the "Sign up"-password field to actually be a password field.

I specifically didn't make it a password field because otherwise you could type in a password incorrectly and not realize it.

I wanted to make signup as easy as possible with the least amount of information entered.

Thank you for the help though.

Either way we are switching our infrastructure in a few days so I'll just fix it in the new one.

It will definitely be sorted once the new infrastructure is up

Man, that can't come soon enough.  I keep having connection issues and its extra annoying because each time my card goes idle my screen flickers.  Also payments are being slaughtered by being idle so often.

It will most likely be ready in the next few days

I had to disable nofee until I manually test if its working.

Right now it would want to jump to nofee then timeout and cycle continues. wasting a ton of gpu cycles.

Its been working fine the last 20 minutes. It only got slow for about 10-15 minutes after the block was found.

Hi

Ive noticed after a new block the pool is absolutely impossible to submit shares to. my miner keeps dropping then after an hour or so, which would be the case now again with this new block, I get majority of my submitted shares in.

Can you please sort this out?

Yep I am aware of the issue and it will be fixed very soon.

The problem is inherent with our current pool setup. Rather than spending a lot of time fixing it on the current back end I decided to create an entire new backend to fix all of our previous problems.

The new backend is almost ready and won't have that problem so no worries.

In the meantime you can set up your miners to point to multiple pools if you want. If they lose connection to our pool they will automatically ask the other pools for more work to compensate.

Hi guys,

I've added NoFeeMining to be one of the latest pools to be monitored by www.btc-poolwatch.com which allows you to monitor your workers on different pools.

Please try it out and let me know if there's any problem.

So whats the deal with payouts on this blocks:

23 Jul 2011 5 25 CDT   112h 40m   2,427,589   137621   No (80 / 120)   JLD13

I got rewarded nothing after only staying for about 70% of the round, if you ended up changing the payout scheme halfway through a block thats pretty messed up.

Don't worry it's just a bug with the stats because two blocks were found so close to each other.

As soon as that block is confirmed all of your earnings will move to confirmed and everything will be ok.

The bug is sort of intentional as it's meant to ease the load on the server. That will not happen with our new backend which we are switching to very soon.

Getting a lot of work queue empty messages, but my other pool is going just fine.  Is there something going on with the server?

We finally cracked that block and the server is transfering the 6 million shares. Our current back end is not very efficient with large numbers of shares so the server is lagging. It seems like its almost done though

We will be moving to a new backend sometime this week so these will be problems of the past soon.

Is there a way to change the address where idle alerts are sent? I registered with my email address but I like the alerts to go to my phone.  I put in 2Gh/s, hopes it helps with this round.  Connection is stable and the site easy to use. Nice work.

SMS alerts are on the list of things to do but right now I am working on changing the entire infrastructure of the pool so it may be a little bit until it's done.

Hi

I just tried to wget my stats but I keep getting errors, either "certificate name doesn't match" or if i use "--no-check-certificate" I just get a 403. I'm guessing this has to do with your use of captcha but it's not very commandline friendly - I can't exactly hop out of an ssh to check on a browser. Do you have a commandline friendly api?

Nice looking site btw.

I saw elsewhere that you admitted to be hopping....

Yerssss? Is it an anti hopping thing for everyone then? Or just for me? Grin

I don't really mind, and I'm sure the pool doesn't care about my little 1Ghps, but I did want to find out if I was using the command line tool wget wrong or if the api was built that way and I'd have to use a little more ingenuity.

Or the pool could just use a provably safe antihopping algo (there are a few and some are more exciting than eligius') and not get into increasingly annoying (for everyone) ways of trying to obfuscate data - eg delaying stats, using captcha etc. which, with time and effort, could be overcome.

JM2C

Cheers all!

Just joined your pool, hoping to get the bounty for finding the next block!

A couple of suggestions: Please put another column in the worker stats that shows how long its been since the last share was submitted, this is really useful so one knows how long ago the worker crashed for troubleshooting purposes.  Also please try to redesign the workers names section, the blue box around the name is confusing. The whole name with the email should be the same colour so people know that the whole thing is the name.

Other than that, great pool, nice site, appreciate the notifications when a miner goes down!

All good ideas. As far as the blue box the problem with that is that its not my code that works the magic on that box. I would have to come up with a somewhat dirty work around to make the box go around the entire worker name. I will try to find a way though.

Thank you to everyone who helped find the first block.

There is a 3 BTC bounty for the second block so start mining!!

How about offering a bounty on every block found? You could do this by offering the block fees to the finder.

That wouldn't amount to too much as the transaction fees are quite small usually.

I will just be offering them out of my own pocket to give the site a boost.

Just a note to anybody reading. the 5 BTC bounty is still up for grabs and multiple more bounties on future blocks

Thanks, glad to see everything is coming along nicely! I've been able to add my payment address etc so it's much better. Thanks also for inceasing the box sizes.

One thing I got confused about is that with the workers, it adds the username to the end of the email I used to sign up with and this is surrounded by a blue box - So I only used this suffix as the username in the client when I should have actually used the whole email_suffix as the username. Could you change the blue outline box to surround the entire email and suffix so its less confusing please?

To add onto the point above, it also probably makes sense in the box below where you enter a username to add a worker to be renamed "Email Suffix" inside the box rather than Username.

Or you can mention (by having a sentence above the input boxes) that the name someone inputs into "Username" box will be added to the end of their email. But it would still be helpful to have the blue outline surround the entire email + suffix rather than just the suffix.

I've been testing it since last night here and there - is there a reason why the "Confirmed Earnings" box ix still at 0.0000000 BTC? Is this just because the round has not ended? Just wondering how things work because I know over at Deepbit and Bitcoins.lc - the balance is updated every hour or more.

I also seem to be suffering from a lot of "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC" when using GUIminer with the NFM pool. I also get this incidentally with bitcoins.lc but never with Deepbit. Is this something you can look into and figure out?

I have been trying to find a creative solution for the worker box problem but it is sort of complicated due to the dynamic nature of the edit boxes. I will keep working on that though.

As far as the confirmed earnings, yes that is only because the round hasn't ended yet. As soon as the round ends and the generated coins are in the sites wallet, they are distributed to all the miners.

As far as GUIMiner, are you using poclbm for the underlying miner or what? I am using phoenix miner and very rarely have communication issues with the server but it is possible that your client is getting blocked by the firewall or something.

If you email me your IP I can check to see if there have been any firewall actions done to it.

As far as the text entry boxes, for the workers do you mean the username or password or both?

Both if you don't mind! Yeah no rush, i'm off to the gym in a bit anyways!

This is the error I get, doesn't make any sense to me but I'm sure it will to you:

Can't seem to let me enter my actual payment address. When I click in the box then right click to paste the address - no paste option appears. It won't even let me manually enter the value - not that I was going too, but just wanted to try!

Is it possible to make the text entry boxes (workers/payout address) larger? feels cramped.

Using IE9 if it helps.

I will check that out as soon as I can. It may be up to an hour or two though.

It is possible the issue is with IE9 as I use firefox and chrome to develop the site.

The site will definitely work best in google chrome.

I have developed it for IE9 as well but I guess I overlooked something so I'm very sorry about that.

more statistics like top miners, how many blocks have been found by workers, these kind of stuff Smiley

When you say how many blocks have been found by workers. Do you mean like which worker found a block or you want to see how many blocks YOUR workers have found?

I will add the top miners right now.

Also we are at 12 ghash/sec

Thank you to the new members and everyone who is sticking with us!!

I will add that ASAP Cheesy

Btw we are almost at 3 Gh/sec but it would really help if some more people jumped on board.

Even if you only stick around until we get large enough to self expand I will be happy Cheesy

We literally just unveiled it so it is about 1 GH/s

We will be adding that information on the site dynamically as well but it seemed more important to get critical features done first and then focus on things like the total hash rate.

Of course we need some brave people to jump on the bandwagon before the site really takes off Cheesy
