If we are using dag file calculator, the end of 4gb cards would be around 2021, but this conditions if ETH still on POW. Many of Crypto coins out there that you can still be mined with your GPUs.

More importantly for ETH mining is that there is a plan in place to become a proof of stake system; as opposed to the current  proof of work system. I have no hard facts about it, but got the impression from people this might happen before the 4GB cards become obsolete for ETH.

I'm new to the GPU stuff but the advice I was given was " if the cost isn't to much of a difference the 8GB will have better resale over the 4GB version".

Hello, I read on a few sites that in about a year from now 4GB cards will be useless for mining Eth due to the DAG file size growing over 4GB... Can someone confirm it? If this happens, what do you recommend to do, switch to mining other cryptos?
