XVG mines on multiple algo's and the claymore miner uses blake2s so you'll want to use the calculator for that which can be found here.

https://whattomine.com/coins/220-xvg-blake-2s?hr=4&p=1000.0&fee=10.0&cost=0.1&hcost=0.0&span_br=&span_d=24&commit=Calculate

Oh, wow; I totally didn't realize that there were multiple types of XVG algorithms like that.

Mystery solved then, lol Wink

Thanks much guys!

I had this happen in the past and my conclusion is...

If you discover that you can mine some coin, and the profits are enormous, there is a very good chance that something is not right. I actually made this mistake in the past.

Most likely the coinwarz is providing wrong info. The algo could of changed a few times in the past for Verge. So the new algo is more hard to mine and if you use the old algo you might get an incredible speed and might make you huge profits. However after wasting a day of mining you discover its not profitable at all.

In the future use Nicehash calculator OR whattomine, they are usually more update to date and current.

True, but still, it's running at around 4GH/s for XVG, which should be creating quite a few XVG coins in a day, based on a few mining calculators that I've tried for XVG. I mean 4GH/s is 4GH/s, right?  So what be the difference if that 4GH/s is generated by multiple GPUs or an ASIC miner machine?

If there is some difference, please explain as even though I have a few years experience with mining, this is the first time that I've tried mining anything other than ETH so far, so I could be missing something here.

Thanks,

You are dual mining an ASIC dominant algo

Hey folks and happy Labor day,

So, I tried out mining XVG on my mining ETH machines for a full day to see if it would be profitable or not as I've seen that XVG is supposedly one of the best yielding alt coins at the moment. I used the profit calculator on coinwarz.com for XVG and it said for my speed, which is at around 4HG/s or so for XVG, that I should be able to generate like around 6000 full XVG in a day.

So, I created a XVG address and setup my Claymore dual miner to mine XVG along side of ETH and it's running great at around 4GH/s or so, which is decent.

However, after 24 hours of mining XVG at around 4GH/s, my f2pool page for the address only reports that it generated around 0.06 XVG in an entire day?

How is that low of an amount at that speed even possible? What's gone wrong here?

This makes no sense to me whatsoever, so I would really appreciate some feedback on this weird problem and to know what you kind folks may think the issue is.

Thank you
