5 ethereum is now worth around 2000 USD so it's not a quantity that you can start investing in the long term with except the fact where you invest that 20000 USD in a coin the exponentiates in the value of the time is for approximately 50 x then it's worth it so rather invest in ico

If i have 5 eth I will invest the half to a good and sure success  ico projects and the other half i will probably trade.  I think that's what i will do.  

Because some people are very greedy they have their money invested in a very good coin but that is not enough they want more, this is one of the main reasons of why you see people losing money in the forum if they instead accepted the fact that obtaining huge profits is something that is very difficult they will get decent profits by investing in ETH or bitcoin over the long term.

Okay that is good. You can go with % ETH and invest it in long term business. This ETH after appreciation in the values will prove more awarding and beneficial. Furthermore, many of the ETH experts says the value will cross $5000 towards the end of 2018 which means that it is a wise decision to invest in ETH for long term and reap super profits in the end and start again.

you must reconsider your thoughts. If am saying this because you can earn better than what you will now. if the market is providing with far beneficial options then why choosing the low ones, why not going with earning big amounts in as much small time as possible. Even if ethereum is slow in gaining value, still it is far profitable than what you have mentioned. If am giving you my sincere advise as a friend, the rest is entirely up to you.

Eth is a altcoins but have a potential to grow decent in the marketplace bro. There is no problem for you to exchange the eth any other alts but  if you want to make money according to the future speculation.
Else you want to make profit with eth in short term. You can invest that on NEO, TRX, XVG and IOTA.  Growth wise you can expect some good value in future.

Invest in 6 different new blockchain coins like NKN, QuarkChain, PChain, EdenChain, Seele, Yggdrash when they will be listed on Exchange after ICO stage - some of them will make x10-100 in the future and will enter TOP-10 on coinmarketcap

if i have 5 ETH, i will invest into some altcoin. suppose LTC, and also BCH, did not rule out I will also invest in ETH itself and hope will get a big profit.

If I had five ethereum to invest the truth is I will not invest in any other coin, why would I do it? The only coin that I think it is better to hold for long term is bitcoin, however I think that ethereum has better prospects to grow a little bit more in the next two years so it will not be the best option to change my ethereum for bitcoin, forget about most altcoins, in two years most altcoins are not going to exist anymore.

In my opinion, ethereum is a great choice for long term investments. Of course you might discover new coins which are more profitable than eth, but I think eth is a reliable and promising coin.

I would split the Ethereum up between a number of solid projects,

For example an ethereum in Cardano, an Ethereum in NEO an Ethereum in Bitcoin, keep one as it is and have one for a decent upcoming ICO project to take a little gamble on.

That way you spread the risk if one of the coins ends up collapsing

if I have 5 ETH it is certain that some of them will still be invested in ethereum for the long term and partly I invest it into another altcoin that is also potentially good in the future to increase its price and can be profitable if for daily trading I think a good altcoin like XLM , ADA and Waves in addition to the low cost of the projects they develop have excellent prospects for the future.

If you have that money in ethereum, just like you are saying on the main post, then just invest those five ethereum into an ICO, or spread those five ethereum between two ICOs.

It is very logical to invest in Cardano considering the previous rise. It was a down payment from a dollar to a point.

I will sepregate the investments into two or three parts and invest in different coins like Bitcoin 50%, Ethereum 25% and Bitcoin Cash 25%. I think I should just keep 1-2 ETH and 3 ETH left so I invest in ICO projects to make a better profit than having to choose carefully because there are many good ICO projects and there are also many projects scam and investment in ICO is a very risky investment and should be weighed carefully before investing because if successful, your profits will soon be XX

if i have 5 eth then it is quite eth resistant for long time or hold 4 eth and 1 eth to buy other altcoin like litecoin, or in play for short strolls i think 1 eth to buy helbiz because hbz is in growth and will enter the top 10 market I think it would be much more profitable.

True, even i don't think ETH will having good increasing so much by the end of this year. So, by splitting that amount and doing to invest into some other coins for short-term invest could be have good profit by it's volatile price.

Well, the simplest answer is trading and investing to the ICO.
But I think it's better to start with trading, at least I did it that. First, with the trading I knew about different coins, and only then when You will have more experience of researching  - different coins, exchanges, platforms, wallets. Only after that you can try  investing to the ICO.
Now there is a lot of scams on the ICO market, so I consider it more risky than trading. Because on trading you can lose 10 or 20 or 30 or even 50 percent, but if you're investing to the scam ICO you'll lose everything.

i agree, some altcoins we try to hold for long term may not rise or less profit than we think, not any altcoin can be pumped in the future, so i think it would be better if we trade bt cor altcoins instead with 5 ETH, it is more profitable if we know how to trade probably, however you should know trading has its own risks ,you can loss your money if you don't know anything about trading altcoins.

It seems that good news is waiting for the eth, and you should wait for them, wait at least a couple of months, and then sell or hold.

 

If I have 5 eth and want to invest long term (2 years) of course I will hold it. I am sure if I hold eth for 2 years it will get a huge profit. Or I will invest in btc, ltc, xrp. These three coins have a huge volume of transactions and definitely have a good development, I think it's worth it if used for long-term investing.

Too many scam ico now you need to do dip research about ico if you want to invest. 2 years is enough to support project like essentia but whitelisted is closed with 100k registration form. If latter you have chance to buy essentia on exchange it will be good investment. Or omix from shivom project.

I would either invest in Ethereum itself and not touch the coin in 2 years or I would have to invest in XEM/NEM because I believe this coin will be something worth the investment. I have a lot to learn from this coin but I just discovered this coin might be one of the few coins we need to keep an eye on now and in the future.

Well 5 ETH it's a good money for start. When I came in crypto I investd 1 ETH and I thought that this is a big money for newbie.

1) You can buy some coin . Of corse before that you should do your research and only after that you'll buy them. You can use 2 or 3 ETH.

2) You can send this money to the ICO, of course before that you should do your research about ICO and you can be sure that this ICO won't be a scam.

If I were you, I would have not invested in any other cryptocurrency cause ETH is the best altcoin and there are no better choices to hold for long term than ETH . I'll hold 5 ETH only without investing any other cryptocurrency. I also think it's the best option )

If I had 5 ETH to invest, I would just let them stay in ETH.
ETH is literally the safest coin for the long term. Don't put money on some coins over top 100 for long term, you don't know anything bout them.

5 ETH - it's not such a big sum. Best decision will be diversification your sum between 5 new ICOs (try to invest on pre-sale stage).

If I have 5eth and I wish to invest it on long term, I will invest 2eth in ethereum, 2eth in bitcoin and invest the remaining 1eth in a very promising and potentials ico project or better still, I will invest in altcoin that is stable and safe. I will hold them for atleast 2years and by then, I will be expecting profit.

I will hold 3 eth in my wallet, use 1 eth for invest in one or two projects, use 1 eth for trade eth pair altcoin and I think it's a good time for me because I see there are many altcoin pair eth that can increase in the short time. so for the rest of ethereum that I have, I don't use for anything except wait for the price and if somehow the price increase so high, I will sell it for 2 eth or 2.5 eth to gain the profit and I will wait for the price to get down again so I can buy another eth.

I would hodl 50% in ethereum, 20% in bitcoin and invest the rest in few altcoins, as long as you make good altcoins that is good, don't look for big profits, high risk coins in this risky market.

I would buy 5 coins for example: Wanchain, NEO, Tronix, Zilliqa, EOS. There may be others, but better promising coins from the top 30.

On the ETH, make a profit and partially transfer to other promising coins such as waves or neo. There are a lot of top and quite popular directions for investing, therefore, problems should not arise with this.

Instead of earning from pigs, make a barn and raise some chicken, goat and cows as well. In this scenario, you won't be needing to wait for 2 years to earn. You will basically be waiting for what will happen to cryptocurrencies within this year. If you happen to hold at least 5 of other cryptocurrencies and their price skyrockets, you'll greatly be rewarded. Think of it carefully. I better to hold ethereum myself for the long term, because now this ethereum has high long-term potential. with the time that few years I think ethereum will definitely keep increasing for the price.

If I have 5 ETH I will do a in depth research for ongoing or upcoming ICOs. I will consider factors such as sustainability of the project/company, whether it really delivers a valuable service/outcome, will there be a demand for their tokens in the future, whether the team has experience and qualifications to handle the project, whether token/ICO price is reasonable etc.

I will pick around three good ICOs in different industries and rank them according to my research. I will invest around 3 ETH to the best ICO and 1 ETH per each for the next two ICOs. I have seen projects such as DigixDAO and 0x did really well after the ICO.

The issue with holding 5 ETH is that ETH already appreciated and it will appreciate slower rate which means I have to stay for a long time to take a considerable profit.

how do you invest for 5ETH ? 

if for myself I will keep in Ethereum for me save, for example I will invest to buy another altcoin, that is only part of it, and I will buy NEO WAVES XRP and XLM which I think this coin is also good for us to buy and we save in the next two years.

I would hold 60% in Ethereum and I would spread the other 40% into some great altcoins. One of my favorites right now is SENT, they are doing great work and the marketcap is still very low. I think it is one of the projects that are still fyling under the radar.

If I have 5 ethereum in my wallet I will hold it for few years because I think the price become ten thousands dollars and up after 2-3 years and if that happen I make more profit  and I will not buy altcoins using my ether but if I have extra money more I buy some more altcoin and ethereum again.

If  I had 5 eth, I would continue to hold them because most people have sold their ethereum for ico tokens, if they hold their ethereum they would make more money. Ethereum will be more profitable and it is safe investment.

I will not hold 5 Ethereum for 5 years. This is what I would do , I will look for five good projects and invest 1 Ether into one each. So anytime time any of the project do 2x I will sell half and retain half in the project, this way I have 5 Ethers and investment in 5 other projects
