I think I solved the problem. I was using a 16x to 16x riser and replaced it with a 1x riser so the card ran on 1x lane instead of 16x lane.

So the 16 lanes are shared by the graphics cards. I wonder why once 5 worked, but now only 4 work with the 16 lane.

Having issues getting all GPUs to work.

At first I had a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H board, I managed to get 4 GPUs working but after a few days only 3 would work. When 4 were connected, it would just keep rebooting and rebooting. If 3 were connected, it worked fine. After some searching, many had similar issues with this motherboard so I bought another motherboard.

This time a Z97X-SLI, I managed to get all 5 GPUs working for a day or two. Then the same issue, only 4 would work. If 5 were plugged in, the motherboard keep rebooting and rebooting.

Just wondering if anyone here had the same issues or suggest a different motherboard?

Are you supplying enough power to the GPUs? Make sure the PSU is big enough and all power connectors are
connected and use powered risers on x1 slots.

I think the H61 motherboard is no longer produced any more, but you can buy in Eabay. It is very reliable.

The best motherboard to mine is the Asrock ProBTC series the H61 and H81 mother boards. They are very reliable.
