I think you did not receive the $500 Christmas present. I am sure the bitcoin price will be over $500 this Christmas.
You know what I would like to have for a X-mas present a Bitcoin Mining that just use solor power. Than with that I wish that it can mine 0.5 bitcoin a month. That would be a nice gift for me. 500 dollars is also a good gift.
I think if we reach 500 dollars it will go down, better for me because I can buy more.
Well, if a such a technology is release, im guessing that such profit wouldn't last long, because the big miner players would automatically start stacking up on those new machines, raising the difficulty, and leaving the solo miner at the starting point again. Unfortunately i dont see a clear way to decentralize mining. I think if we reach 500 dollars it will go down, better for me because I can buy more.

I agree that we may touch or even pierce $500, and that shouldn't be difficult to achieve. But I find no arguments, neither fundamental nor technical to stay above that level for a longer while. At least not now. Around spring time, yes, that is more probable.

That's actually a great idea. But I feel like as if I were to give this to one of my family members, they wouldn't know what to do with it right now.
All they would do is just keep it in a safe place, I don't think this would be enough to convince them to get more interested in bitcoin.

That would be a better Christmas than what we got last year from bitcoin. To be honest I am happy and would remain so just sticking where we are taking into account just a few months ago we could not break $250's.

That is exactly the point. We managed to reverse the 18 month old bear and that is already a great achievement for 2015. the price action in December is the cherry on top of the cake, and thus one should not get disappointed if we don't break $500. All in due time, that is just around the corner. We should get much more positive events closer to the halving. ...

Hopefully this happens too as long as no one from the so called Whale club decides to dump their Bitcoins which in result could the main factor in the price upon reaching the Christmas week. Base on the recent events, it's going up step by step so looking forward into it even further.

Instead of waiting for the price to reach $500 and go down again, you can also buy the amount of coins you want, right now. People tend to wait way too long with buying as they hope the will go down. And once they finally are going to buy some coins, then that most likely will be at much higher price levels. Don't waste your time waiting, and buy now.

Halving is still quite far ahead of where we are now. I wouldn't count on halving effect until early spring 2016. For now there is a lot of speculation, but no real news or developments to ignite a stronger move. We may as well touch $500 and come back to low $400 to test the support zone: $350-400 that we left at the beginning of December. Hope for the best guys .Happy xmas.

That would be indeed a nice Christmas present. It's very possible that this can happen. If a little pump is coming in we might be able to reach between $500 - $600.
If it does reaches $600, I'm pretty certain it will come back down as fast as it went up.

yeah $500 is my hope at Christmas, because I think $500 is very likely to go at the current price.
With only 7 days to go, there should be like $8 daily climb for BTC to reach $500, but looking at rates today and the passed few days, it's been stable at $450 - $460. At this point, those who hold Bitcoins to shop and not for trading are slowly dumping coins to buy some Christmas gifts.

It went up to $460 something today but it came back down to $450 really quickly.

$500 is likely to happen. The question is whether we just touch it and go down, like the last time, or we are able to stay above $500 a bit longer. I think the first option is more realistic, as we are still far from the halving, so the growth will eventually run out of steam.

Of course, I have no evidence to point at this happening any other than feeling really bullish at the scaling progress done in the past weeks and feeling generally really happy with the good news we are seeing lately, and of course having some fun in the speculation subforum with other Bitcoin fellows, so get in here if you are in for a 500$+ xmas party.

Humble prediction, not like others way to optimistic. Yes it will be nice to see 500 $ and even more nicer to stay there. I think this is possible to happen, I don't need better evidence then this stady rising. Maybe we can expect even more cause of halving is closer and closer every day. A lot of people are sure in much bigger rise after that halving occur.

500 mark seems to be quite reachable with the current constant up trend from some weeks. We may see people spending much in bitcoin and for which buying bitcoin and taking it to 500.

Yes, I purposely did so, to try to guarantee that it happens to be honest, but it's clear that we could be at 700 by Jan, im talking about as much near to 25 Dec as possible.

It's very probable IMO. The bullish market trend should be continuing at least till next February IMO.

it's definitely possible. i only hope we won't see the price fall back very sharply after reaching $500. it seems that a few large traders are trying to keep the price at the $320-$340 levels. maybe so they have more time to buy coins.
that would be great though i really dont think that it is possible to achieve right now we need to start buying a lot of bitcoins right now in order to grow the price that much

I don't know whether the price will go up or down, but I hope it's $500 for Xmas. Last year's Xmas was horrible for bitcoinsrs because the price kept dropping. This year's been the opposite until now. Lets hope Santa gives all us bitcoiners that $500 on our Xmas wish list.
