Yes, in fact the picture is taken from a dailystar article. I'm surprised that the site is still up today, it shows the level of confidence the hackers have in not being discovered. Who knows where the money will end up.

hack will be avoided by better decentralization of the trading and exchanges, such as atomic swaps technology for example. You can take a look at bitcoin atom, they're launching atomic swaps through their nodes this month.

Although decentralization of exchanges will greatly improve the security measure for the user, currently, there are no such promising decentralization exchanges being developed. Well, that is my opinion, but actually, we urgently need the missing promising decentralized exchanges because I believe the government's regulations will be stricter.

Your opinions on developing DEXs such as Komodo and Blocknet? We can all agree something like Etherdelta is a nightmare to use.

I was not aware of this theft of five hundred million tokens from Coincheck, this is very bad news for the whole industry. I hope for everyone that exchangers immediately increase the level of security measures, because more and more often they verify these thefts and moreover a general regulation of the whole sector is more and more urgent

Interesting, I will have a look. Right now all the DEXs are either very low liquidity or very hard to use. Atomic swaps will need the Lightning Network, which we have been waiting for a long time. Hopefully we see the technology develop soon. Personally, the KYC/AML regulations everywhere should be worrying for crypto users.

I don't think they will require lightning

already komodo and blocknet are able to conduct atomic swaps. Those two should come on strong in the next few months.

dex are the next natural steps in this arena and it is a shame it has taken this long

Understood, but surely the more regulations we introduce, the less decentralised it all becomes. Exchanges could very well become the new banks.

Coincheck announced that they will compensate hack victims. That amount is not enough, but I guess it better than nothing.

Technology should develop more to protect users. A good Dex is the key now though it can get hacked too because tech is man made
