If you ordered with Paypal BFL would probably rather refund you than have you complain to Paypal and risk cutting off the supply of new pre-orders.

As it seems BFL is not happy with Paypal ("... fuck Paypal ...").

Just got my refund for a 50GHs unit cleared through PayPal. And it was ordered at the end of April.
The prospect of making a ROI started to look grim after the last two difficulty jumps, so I decided to bail out. Asked BFL nicely about it and they obliged with no fuss.

Hi xxx,

Thank you for contacting Butterfly Labs. According to the terms you agreed to on checkout, all sales are final. Now that shipping of orders has begun, refunds will not be processed. Your order will be shipped per your position in the order queue. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best Wishes,
Abbey

im sure BFL will ensure an easy way to weasel out of it, perhaps luke needs a refund too?
He will let his refund stay on the BFL bankaccount so they can manage his funds then, I guess.

@MPOE-PR .. Do you guys even read the Bets before allowing them to be posted, or is it a sort of "anything goes" as long as BFL is involved?

It would still be pretty hard for them to do worse than betsofbitco.in...

[...] but the wording of this bet scares me.

I agree.

There's no way that the bet could be anything except YES. BFL has already noted that all sales are final at this point, so any user with an order between now and July could "request a refund" and have it denied, which still follows the rules of the bet.

I don't imagine anyone is actually able to keep up with BFL bullshit. Where exactly do they say "If you've put an order in and haven't had it canceled yet it's gone gone gone"? Afaik that's for new orders, ie, past this point. Not for old ones (and even if they tried they couldn't make it stick, if you promise full refunds and an order is made you can't later go oh sorry, changed our mind - at least not in the US).

I don't believe for a second that BFL is going to stop refunds, but the wording of this bet scares me.

Heh. One way the bet ends up "true" is if they are shipping the orders and so no refunds given because they gave you hardware instead.

Here it is. You've been warned.

Umm wouldn't a 0.05BTC vs 5.37BTC bet be a 100:1, not 500:1?
