64 bitcoins is a lot of money looking at the values of bitcoin at the moment, but I don't think there is a high chance to get your bitcoins back even if you decided to go through legal methods, it is hard to track down the admins whereabouts in the first place, unless there is someone who could provide you with all the necessary information about the admins of the site.

The site is down. Taking a look at the archive.is page for 50btc.com you can roughly see what it is, which is a bitcoin mining pool. I'm assuming that your 64 BTC came from your hashpower which was used to mine coins in their pool.

They do still technically owe you your bitcoins, but where are you going to find them?

The about us page is not archived unfortunately, so unless you have the full details of the admin in question, you don't have a chance at all. And even then, it could be an innocent guy which identity has been stolen to operate this scam. And even IF you can be sure that it's the real admin's details, how are you going to find him in whatever country he resides in? International lawsuits are extremely difficult.

I hope for the best for you but honestly your chances are slim. Please keep us updated, though.

I love the tenacity but don't you think they would have spent those coins by now? After all, scammers do crave for the high life. Easy living with the least possible effort.

A Russian suspect complicates this further. Going after him or them four years after the fact is like going after a fish let loose in the Pacific Ocean and looking for it an hour later. The Russian element means this will be an international effort which in turn means your lawyer will need other lawyers to attempt to find him. It's all about finding him first. When found, it would be nice if your bitcoins are still on his wallet.

A million $ definitely makes it worth the time and effort. Let's hope there will be a happy ending to this story.

Your lawyer might want to start the search by convincing a local court to find or rule in your favor, essentially establishing a probable cause. When you have that, then a criminal case can be opened, followed by the all-important arrest warrant. Going international means involving prosecutors and the police so they can ask Interpol to publish a red notice for this scammer. This will all take time. Update us.

It's over 4 years now. And those Bitcoins is worth around 1 Million Dollar today. I have all emails, screenshots from Dashboard etc saved.

Taking this to the trial, maybe? It's worth 1 Million, why not?

you must hire lawyers and report your case to the police, we are talking about 4 years and lots of money... you have your right and the court will decide what your rights are the police can find these liars just do not give up and I wonder why the hell did you let 4 years go by and you never hired lawyers and never reported this case to the police?
Who are you going to sue? The website is unresponsive which suggests they are probably long and forever gone.

if they investigate exhaustively it will be possible to find these guys and OP should not give up

Thank you for reply.

Back in 2013/2014 I really thought they would give me those Bitcoins back, because thats what they said and I trusted them. When I realized they would not give them back I was really desperate. I also thought that the police of my country would not understand the cases about Bitcoin. Today Bitcoin is a much bigger than it was then. Polices, courts, lawyers everyone has heard about it at least. Also it's worth a lot more now. So now I'm going to put all my time and energy to solve this case.

I'm looking for proper lawyer now.

I have collected a lot of data about 50btc.com, I have the name of one 50btc.com staff but I'm not 100% sure if it's real. Name is probably Russian.

hey man if you proceed with this i think there is a lot of us that have been fucked.. I lost 273 bitcoins worth over 4 mill today. Id love to go after these pieces of shit.. I let my computer sit for a long time mining and when i check and seen how many i have mined i immediately started the transfer process to my wallet. my account was locked or something and deleted that day. I was able to regain access about a week into talking to support but come to find out it is completely empty and in the transactions it said -273 bitcoins not to any wallet, just subtracted. after years of trying to contact them with no success i have given up trying to communicate with them. its a dead end. the for sure have committed a great theft and should be jailed.

Thank you for reply. I'm about to proceed with this, for sure.

I'm going to keep this thread alive and update here every time things goes ahead

Who are you going to sue? The website is unresponsive which suggests they are probably long and forever gone. There is also a statute of limitations on civil claims you may make against anybody or any corporate entity. And even if it does advance to some kind of litigation, you might first need to hire a lawyer and that first step will cost you money. Money you will invest against an uncertain outcome.

You must also ascertain if they are solvent because if they are not, you might end up investing a big pile of money on legal fees, all for an I’m-sorry-for-your-loss judgment in your favor.

Dear User!
Our pool was under huge attack in October and the billing system was corrupted with wrong amounts. We have applied our hardest effort working 24/7 during this two months to get back with the totally rewritten much more secure and robust code and now have reached an important milestone - now all components of our new system are up and running. All software was redesigned from a scratch. We was able to migrate only user names and part of the workers. In order to investigate your account we are asking you to provide all the information you have about the mining being held on your account:
1. Configuration of your PC or ASIC model.
2. Miner's settings you’ve used to connect to our pool
3. Any screenshots you have
4. All log files from your mining software

Please send all the information to [email protected].

Thank you for staying with us!

Best regards,
50btc support team

I sent those informations they were asking, but they never answered to me again and they never sent me any Bitcoins. Only got those automatic replies.

It's over 4 years now. And those Bitcoins is worth around 1 Million Dollar today. I have all emails, screenshots from Dashboard etc saved.

They still owe me those coins, thats for sure. If anyone have any ideas about what I should do next to get my Bitcoins back, or any useful information please reply to this thread or PM me, thanks Smiley
