well just tripped over this thread in that I was just on ebay and saw they actually did make the beast in some manner it is now 6/28/14

anyway seems to exist and sold on ebay so who'd a thunk it?

lots of dark horses mining bitcoin in background with odd ball machines that now seem to be dumping them used

(a real value in knowing/reading chinese me thinks to find such clones)

These look interesting.  I see a minimum order quantity of 5k for chips.  Will there be other options for the smaller development teams (which is most of the teams here on bitcointalk)?  Your competition is offering MOQs of 20-500, at better GHs/W ratios, so your price or availability would need to be very competitive.  I'd like to develop for your chip, but without a method to order samples, and smaller volumes, I'm not certain how to get started.  What is your preference?

My guess is these are the failed and now abandoned ASICMiner Gen2 chips, which make sense since the power efficiency is so terrible, but I am sure they will sell it cheaper ($/Gh) than anything else out there.  C.L.A.M (Cast-off Left-behind ASICMiner)

You might not care, but many others care because they don't want to give a penny more to scammers like Avalon and greedy bastard friedcat.  You, on the other hand, have no principle at all so fire away!

3W/GH is monstrously high.

Bitmain is close to 1W/GH (I'll post the correct details of my antminer tomorrow)

HI kano, thank you and we don't want to let you down but the AntMiner S1 you received is running at 1.1v core voltage, the chip efficiency is 1.3W/GH/s and on wall is about 2W/GH/s. Of course we can lower the voltage to increase the efficiency to 1W/GH on wall in the future.

 For CLAM, 3W/GH on chip may lead to 4~5W/GH on wall. Lots of miners have very cheap/free and unlimited power resource, I guess it won't be a problem, but the hashing rate matters. CLAM is good for them. Bitmain will be good for family miners whose electricity is limited and to be paid.

And with the current BTC price, electricity for the moment is not as important when BTC was at 100-150 $.

looks like a promising product. we need more reliable manufacturers who care about their customer and don't try to hide behind the veil of "network protection BS".. kinda tired of waiting for KNC's next batch...
 can't wait for bitmain and clam to step up their manufacturing. if you gave me 1th right now i'd have paid 20% premium over KNC prices...

The very first batch of CLAM asic was received on Monday this week, and the test results are quite satisfactory, power consumption in full compliance with the previous simulation results , the performance is far than expected.

Due to the bug of the board schematic released earlier, analog PLL power input is not properly grounded, causing wrong communication IO voltage. We fix this problem soon and after it CLAM chip gives the results we expected.

Now the results of the test are as follows :

1.1V voltage : 2.5w / G, the chip can run stably at a clock frequency of 320MHz, 2.56G/s hash power of the 8 cores in total
1.2V Voltage : 3.0w / G, the chip can run stably at 400MHz, 3.2G/s hash power in total

We also tested the chip at a higher frequency under 1.2V voltage: Single core can run at 500Mhz frequency , but because of chip performance exceeded expectations, inadequate thermal design of our test board can not support 8 cores simultaneously.
Therefore, we are improving our thermal design according to the test results, and looking forward to that CLAM can archive 4.0G/s of hash power very soon, it will be the highest performance in 55nm all chips.
Also, because of our high standard of chip design, and the high-standard Amkor's QFN100 package, test shows that CLAM can support up to 12w single-chip power dissipation at 500Mhz frequency, even higher.

We are modifying the design design of CLAM miner based on test data, high-quality CLAM miners will be released within one or two weeks.

Miner models may include :
Clam Mini: 6GH / s
C1: 200GH / s
C2: 350GH / s
C3: 1TH / s

Detailed specifications will be determined by the actual test before the release.
