I don't get why you guys post these deals here. This is not a deal website. And HD58xx are running rare. If you know where you can find them in stock, keep it to yourself. We don't need the new miners to be buying up all the hardware.

Buying mining hardware is totally relevant to this sub-forum.

I have the Sapphire 5830s from Newegg and they destroy  Smiley Running at about 245 mh/s average, with no overclocking or mods. XFX is a crappy brand, and their cards don't overclock very much. They also feel much cheaper in quality, and from what I've heard, perform worse.

why woudln't yuou overclock your sapphire?  I'm at 307MH/s on mine w/ stock voltage

I have to agree with the XFX assessment above, unfortunately.

If you run rigs away from home, great. If not, they are extremely loud. They are louder than 4 other sapphire 5830's combined.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I have (2) 6870 cards -- a Sapphire and an XFX -- and the XFX doesn't overclock as high, runs hotter, and the fan is MUCH, much louder. You can hear it over everything else in your room. There are many threads on the 'Net about how to cool them -- mostly desperation. I re-applied arctic silver paste which helped a BIT, but it's only 5 degrees cooler. The fan is still loud. I borderline regret I bought it.

With what I know today, I'd pay $20 or even $30 more for an equivalent Sapphire card over an XFX one.

Just my personal experience.

Matthew

Thanks for the info. I'll have 1/3 Sapphire and 2/3 XFX in my next setup. I'll keep any eye out for cooling issues with these cards.

Figured this was worth mentioning - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=365456&CatId=3669

$99.99 after Mail in Rebate. $129.99 before hand, but if you can stand to wait for the money to come back, it's still $60 in the end off.

Is the offer available for Europeans, or is it US-only?

EDIT: The shipment cost to Sweden is $90. Totally not worth it.

Where can you get a Sapphire one online? They're all sold out...
