Solved. It was something to do with the pci extender I was using.

What specifically? Or was just, don't use the extended and it worked okay?
I had two adapters, which works fine on my other pc. I took one off and now its working. Not sure if it was a bad adapter or if two was just a problem for some reason..

I just got a 5870 black edition.  I can't seem to get more then 280mh/s with a 850 core clock, 1.125 voltage.
Sounds like 5830 Performance. You checked it with GPUz?

this is what I think too. Maybe you got scammed and got sent a lower model gpu
I don't think the specs in gpu-z can be faked. The cheaper cards are shorter as well.

I just looked on gpu-z everything seems normal. Temps are low, matching the low m/hash. I switch the memory clock back to 1200mhz and it seemed to have no effect. I'm going to test it in another pc tomorrow.

what are you running the memory at? some cards go haywire if you run them at a speed they don't "like"

Yeah, that's way low. Have you checked the temps of the GPU and the VRMs?

I just got a 5870 black edition.  I can't seem to get more then 280mh/s with a 850 core clock, 1.125 voltage. I have a asus 5870 with the same settings in the rig, it gets 390 mhash. I'm mining with cgminer and have checked settings with afterburner. Never had any issues like this, any help would be appreciated.
