Just found a Diamond XT800 from the AGP days in my scrap pile,it outlasted the 3 year warranty at least Cheesy

Sapphire's 2 year warranty was a little short for me,but glad your having success with em Wink

I had thier cards before & to warranty was a time killer, took 4 weeks to hear back from them.

I also treat all my cards well,no volt OC,just core & vrm OC in small amounts. They never see over 75c either.

One bonus from Bitcoin...my 6970 xfire setup was almost free.BF3 rocks with them Grin

Erm, i have BF3, Was using 2 5870's at first, then i tried a single one on ultra. Works fine 6-FPS. I've now put the 6870 in and guess what, Runs perfect on ULTRA! 60FPS. Theres just no need to Xfire such cards. Only thing i found is STALKER C.O.P with absolute add ons, SMRTER addon & atmosfear addon and this is only because the addons require 3GB of GPU ram (atmosfear). Total war 2 works perfect too. take one out and try it. I also only payed £7 for BF3 through BTC's on bitporium/bitharbour or one of them Cheesy I was 68th heli pilot on BF2 back in the day of crawling out of bed and back into it Tongue

I went thru all feedback on Diamond vid cards on newegg,Pretty good reviews on most of thier cards, but bad experience for those that tried to claim the warranty.

I'm not sure what to think of Diamond Huh

I prefer XFX myself, only 1 died after 4 weeks out of 4 cards & was replaced in 2 weeks,no hassles.

XFX are the worst, as i aint used diamond by the sounds of it. Cost me alot they have. And others on here. Seems like diamond & XFX are in bed together. XFX's fans usually sease up and kill your cards. Cheap.

I dont think anyone makes completely good batches all the time, just these 2 are the worst. Doesnt mean your will break. Just probably will Tongue

I've been impressed with sapphire like i say. Supprisingluy. Good Overclockers and stability. 1 failed, which was probably my doing actually,, im big enough to admit that Tongue

You all seem on about customer service though, No company as good customer service. Not how it should be anyways. I've had wait over a month to even get an offer of replacement off XFX. WHich i replaced with ASUS 6 series and a sapphire 6 series cause 5's are out. Pants. Least, im out of XFX's hands, well, bar 1 card... BETS DOWN Smiley Mines 1 month, it made some funny noises other day lol

Quick Tip: Diamond is a horrible manufacture, support is completely non-existent, workmanship is shotty. Best hope you have a blowout within those first 30 days, because that will be your last real chance to rma it.

Bullshit.

Out of HIS, Sapphire, and Diamond cards I had to RMA in the past, Diamond was by far the easiest and fastest to process the RMA. At least in the US: 8 days between me shipping the dead card, and receiving a new one.

This 5970 is a reference board.  Diamond doesn't do anything but slap a "Diamond Multimedia" sticker on it and bundle it with some software.

References design or not AMD doesn't make boards.  Hell they don't even make the chips.  Plenty of ways to cut corners on a "reference design" and plenty of ways to weasel out of a warranty when those corner cutting results in a dead cards.

That bad huh??? Sorry, didn't know that Huh

Yeah Diamond is bad.

You can get ATI (yeah back when they were ATI) reference models used on ebay for $350 ish.  I have 15.  Never had a single one fail.  I would recommend them over new Diamond card.  No not joking.  If the price was $400 it might be worth it.

Little known fact ebay return policy in first 30 days is pretty much open-ended.  You can say "card crashes" and ebay will facilitate a return.  So I just buy them from ebay, inspect them closely (smell them too), burn em hard for 30 days and request a return if it seems flaky.  Worse case scenario you are out the return shipping.  Of ~20 I bought on ebay I had one which seems like it might have been overclocked/overvolted/overheated.  The PCB was discolored and I couldn't get it to go 72 hours without a "DEAD CARD" in cgminer.  Ebay helped me return it.

So the risk of buying used is overblown IMHO.  $350 vs $500 for better made card.  No brainer for me.
